  1. To hit, yes. Either way, I'm making the golem take a DC 20 Toughness check for flying into something.
  2. Cheat Sheet v.5! 20 -- High Cultist -- uninjured 16 -- Ironclad -- uninjured, 3 HP now 13 -- Dragonfly -- out cold, 0HP 13 -- Push -- out cold/2 more rounds, 4 HP 9 -- Cobalt Templar -- uninjured, 3 HP 9 -- Dead Head -- uninjured, 2 HP 9 -- Mutt -- uninjured, 0 HP (minion, uses DH's HPs) 2 -- Flesh Golem -- 2 injuries
  3. The aftershock of the quake even shook the cultist, and he screamed several foul words in eldrich languages as his golems were thrown every which way. The language became even fouler as the mighty Templar smote one down and nearly destroyed the other, which was even now attempting to climb to it's feet. An arduous process indeed as the building began to shake, and things began to fall down, shingles, crates and the like. Cursing, the Cultist windmilled his arm again, a second rune appearing over the fire pit on the farthest corner of the triangle, and new runes appeared up the sides of his robe. "Foolish mortals! This is only a minor setback to me! And soon you will feel the wrath of the Horned One for your insolence!"
  4. Ok, last golem has to spend a full round getting up...which means it's time for ROUND 3! Head Cultist burns another Total Defense action, +4 Defense this turn. Ironclad, you're up.
  5. Quinn actually blinked, looking a mite cheerier than before. Ten to one it was a trap, but his options were rather limited. A quick glance over her shoulder showed that AEGIS suit wasn't going anywhere anytime soon... "Being invited somewhere by a beautiful woman, that's a first. Where do you have in mind?"
  6. It took a lot of Quinn's self-control not to drop his coffee when she mentioned Gear City. It took even more to keep his voice steady as she made that skyline painting, and the bloody hole in the middle. Mental images flashed before his eyes, and he blinked, shaking his head. She was motioning to a booth. Booth is good. Booth hidden from doorway. Agents can't see. He quickly took a glance at the glass doorway, feeling a bit of relief at seeing that the agent and police were still talking. They hadn't noticed him. "Been there, seen it, got the T-shirt. Over there'd be good." Granted, his voice was steady, but there was a harsh element there that he couldn't quite suppress...not to mention his expression had gone a tad grave. Only briefly, however, and he soon plastered the brittle smile back onto his features. "So, you enjoy travel?"
  7. The smile this time actually reached his eyes, but only for a second. Long time since he'd actually been able to do something vaguely normal, and a beautiful woman beside him was a definite first...then the feeling faded, and the smile turned somewhat brittle as he looked over the menu. "One of those mochas, please." He reached into his bag, feeling about for the small case of cash he'd snagged from the crooks. He'd left the drug evidence beside them, of course, but pinching the bad guy's monies was pretty much his only form of income. He took out a five-dollar-bill and passed it to the barista, nodding his thanks while talking to Lizzie. "Freedom City's a nice place. Lived here long?"
  8. To the Dok: Both strikes miss, sorry boss. Well, make that bounce off an arcane ward he's got around himself. Force Field with Impervious 10. Fun!
  9. Quinn managed to keep the smile up. So much for avoiding the coffee. Then again, not like it was a real trial, and he could get one of those mocha things...they had chocolate in them, right? And that meant less coffee. "Another coffee? Yeah...okay. Why not? I'll pay for these, if you'll let me." He nodded at the counter, his mind slightly relieved. At least she thought it was electricity...if she realized it was kinetic juice, he might as well walk up to those cops and lock the cuffs on himself. "Do we order at the counter?"
  10. FrakherofrakfrakheroherofrakherofrakfrakFRAK! To his credit, Quinn managed to keep a straight face. He'd also seen weirder (especially that one "living paint" device Wyrd cooked up, he thought he'd never get the stains out of his coat...) in his time. So. She was a hero. Lovely. Ok, calm down. She didn't know who he was, that was obvious. And if she did, then he was already thoroughly frakked. For now, assume she doesn't. Escape routes by back door, main door. Scarf up and around his face, three seconds. The fact that she had already seen his face, and even had his name did not escape him. Damn. "Heh, best trick I can do is that little spark there. Very impressive, tho', you must be quite the artist, with a gift like that." Keep her talking, focus on her work. Deflect questions if possible, not like I haven't done this before.
  11. Gabe reached forward to take her hand, then winced as a minor crackle snapped between the hands as he shook hers. Leftover kinetic charge from the fight, bugger! He thought fast, coming up with a quick excuse. "Er...static. Wool clothes, y'know? Name's Quinn, Gabriel. Friends call me Quinn." Thank everything that's holy that I wore my wool sweater today...
  12. Ok, rolls for the two remaining baddos... 1d20+5=10, 1d20+5=15 O_O. Congrats, Knight. Your hammer-blow pulped the first flesh golem, and the second one is in a right nasty situation right now. Last golem's down for another round, staggered and stunned!
  13. Push (No! Quinn, damnit!) simply stared briefly, before shaking his head and giving a rather weak smile. It wasn't that he was a baboon or anything, but he'd never been described as anything other than "decent-looking". Against this walking goddess (poetic, he ain't) he looked pretty damn bad. Mussed hair, slightly gaunt features, pretty skinny, and that five-o-clock shadow that just wouldn't go away...yeah, he felt a tad self-conscious. Damnit, man! Focus! Agents outside, and you picked this table! Remember the rules, react, adapt, and eyes open! He coughed, racking his brains while speaking in a surprisingly steady voice. "What? A guy needs an excuse to take a few minutes of his day to chat with a lovely lady? Heard this coffee shop was one of the best, had to try it out. Can see now they weren't lyin' about the ambience." He gave a roguish wink, inwardly wincing as he realized what he'd said. Now he'd have to actually drink the coffee, and he never could stand the stuff...
  14. The building had collapsed, and it wasn't his fault. Push cursed fluidly as he stuffed his coat and scarf into his messenger bag, hurrying down an alleyway away from the crumbling tenement. Good thing the joint was empty, but it wasn't his fault those crooks had a stolen battlesuit! He had to blast it through that wall. Which destabilized the ground floor. Which started the collapse. He'd hauled them all out using kinetic telekinesis, of course, but the joint was trashed. He mumbled something about the building being a deathtrap anyway as he began walking into the street...then froze. A man in a black suit was standing there...and he had an awfully good photograph of Push from back in Gear City with him. The insignia he flashed the cops with, A.E.G.I.S, sent a chill down his spine. They knew he was here. Damnit! They knew he was here, and he hadn't even gotten close to Scratch yet! This was bad, this was very, very bad. Blinking his thoughts back, he spun on his heel and walked through the nearest door. Coffee shop. Good. Hot drinks. Booths. Quiet. Thinking place. Away from agents. Very good. Walking as if in a daze, he sat down at the nearest table and rubbed his hands on his face. His outfit was stashed in his bag. Good. He was in full Gabriel Quinn mode. Good. There was someone on the other side of the table from him. Bad. Wait, what?
  15. Ok, let's salvage this...with more destruction! Reflex save (1d20+2=6, 1d20+2=12, 1d20+2=19, 1d20+2=4) - Flesh Golem Reflex Save. All failed. ^w^ -Flesh Golem 1 1d20+9=16 -Flesh Golem 2 1d20+6=22 -Flesh Golem 3 1d20+7=9 -Flesh Golem 4 1d20+8=10 You read it right, two golems KO'd! Other two hit the ground prone, they're down until the next round. Push is also temporarily out cold from way overcharging that shot, courtesy of complication Tank's Running Low. He'll get back up in a couple of rounds...;)
  16. Push's eyes grew round as he saw the zombies pile onto Dragonfly, vivid memories flashing in front of him, masses of dry husks barreling towards him, grasping hands, rotting teeth, and that smile...the smile of Scratch... His face contorted with rage, seeing the museum once again in his mind, as he vaulted onto the crate, yanking his hammer from his back. His mouth open in an earsplitting roar, he slammed every ounce of kinetic energy he had right into that oversized weapon, draining straight to his core ... "NOT! AGAIN!" He spun the hammer around his head, whirling it as a massive warp in the air erupted around the head, wind screaming and crackling far louder than the small shot he'd thrown earlier. "NEVER! AGAIN!" And running to the edge, he leapt off, spinning the hammer once more and bringing it down upon the ground with an almighty crash, feeling the energy flooding through the haft and into the ground. The concrete floor buckled, cracked, then dented deep, the blow echoing outwards in a mammoth wave of force that overturned crates, cracked metal supports, and actually buckled out the warehouse walls, shattering the windows on the ground floor. Zombies went flying, hitting the ground hard and shuddering as their own essence flowed out. The golems, on the other hand, fared slightly better. Two of the golems were crushed by the sheer force right out, each flying through a crate and staying there, legs sticking out from the shattered wood, while the other two barely managed to weather the blow. The remaining two golems crashed hard to the ground, lying prone as the wave's backlash washed over them. Push stood there, the ground dented beneath the hammer, and his eyes started to blank out as the sheer rush of power blew through his body, frying him almost from the inside-out. His hands unclasped the warhammer, and he fell to his knees, mumbling "Not...not again...I won't let you...have them...again..." He stared at Dragonfly, blasted off her feet and hitting the ground with a very final thud, and he extended a hand, before crashing to the ground himself. His vision blurred, and he himself fell into blackness. Damn...
  17. Push's turn, and it's Power Stunt time! Shaen's idea, I give full credit, and I'm tweaking my Enhanced Strike and adding a new toy. Strike 10 (Extras: Area [General, Burst], Linked [Trip], Flaws: Action [Full]) [10PP] + Trip 10 (Extras: Area [General, Burst], Linked , Flaws: Action [Full], Range [Touch], Feats: Improved Throw) [6PP] (Kinetic Hammerquake) [16PP]. Mwehehehehehehehee.... Everyone in the area (that'd be the four golems, Dead Head, Dragonfly, Ironclad, the other five zombies, CT is exempt because he's in the air, and the High Priest is up on the podium, so he gets a bye as well) has to make a DC20 Reflex save for 1/2 (general area), then a DC25 Toughness save (or DC20 if they made the Area save) and a contested roll, the lower of their STR+Super-STR or DEX+Acrobatics versus my Trip rank (so 10, or 5 if they made the Area save). If you fail the Trip check, you're knocked prone. Yahoo! Edit: Oh, and I'm invoking Push's complication of "That Building Jumped Out In Front Of Me!".... FUN!
  18. Excellent! And Fox, Rav, and Knight have voted to try their luck on the Bonus Boss even if they block the ritual in time...and they still don't know how long they have! Mwahahahaha! Of course, there is the option to change your mind, if you choose to. Dok, penny for your thoughts? And she takes down one full group of zombies. That's 5.
  19. Aye, he's going to be an NPC. If a blaster pistol wouldn't be appropriate, what would? He is an AEGIS agent, it stands to reason he'd have some form of sidearm.
