1. Victory smiles wide, nodding. "You won't find anyone who agrees with that more than me. That's why I became a pilot in the first place. There's no rush that even compares." Victory does a quick spin, the boosters propelling him causing a spiraling trail behind him, and re-aligns. "I thought flying a jet was intense, but it's nothing next to being up here without having to be inside a vehicle." The two fly a bit further, before he speaks again. "Anyway, I'm here on protection. There's a..." As he speaks, a commotion from down below grabs his attention, and his face grows serious. "...speak of the devil." Looking over, he nods to Miss A. "Looks like you were in the right place at the right time....let's go!" And he moves in a flash, heading down into the sudden confusion.
2. GM In the woods surrounding the highway, a group of figures, 4 on each side of the highway, keep their eyes on the large armored truck. When it gets to a more open spot, with fewer cars around it, one of them gives a move signal, and in a flash, 8 armored figures burst out of the woods, rocketing towards the truck from both sides. The armors had the numbers 1-8 on them, and the one labelled "1" took front from the ones on the eastern side. 1: "NOW! Get the parts out and let's move!" 2-8: "ROGER!" They move quickly, and begin to bear down on the truck in short time!
3. Dr Volk looks up from her notes to look over to Jessica. "Unfortunately, you cannot launch satellites from within city limits, either. Believe me, we've tried." She books the notepad down for a moment, and grins. "Of course, if you DO want to get a military contract to work on such a thing within your building, I'm sure we can arrange something. We at AEGIS are always looking for bright minds, and we've been known to give out contract work, as well. In fact, we've set up quite a few with ArcheTech."
4. While Victory normally keeps himself quite alert, he was spending so much of his attention down below that hearing someone talk him cordially this high up caught him a bit off-guard. He was expecting engine roars or explosions maybe, but not someone to come up and say hi. He turns his attention over to Miss A with a smile, and a casual salute. "Hey there! Out on patrol, too? Or just out for a joyride, as it were?" He wouldn't want his superiors to know, but he's done his share of for-fun swooping and spinning when he was supposed to be patrolling.
5. Haha, my bad. I think I was getting his description mixed with someone else's. Edited.
6. While the truck makes its way along, Victory flies, far above, keeping an eye on the truck far below. He was instructed to accompany it on its way into the city. Although he has no idea why, exactly, he assumes that whatever the truck was carrying was safe on its way. It was a pretty big armored truck, much larger than the normal bank ones, so it could attract itself some attention. And it seems it does, as Victory spots a figure watching it. Keeping a note of that, he keeps an eye on him, just in case...
7. Alright, he's still blind. Harrier's initiative.
8. Wherein Victory, Miss Americana, Gabriel and Geckoman protect a parts shipment!
9. GM Northbound on Route 6, heading into Freedom City Another afternoon goes by, with a great many people making their way in and out of the city. The skies are clear, but fall is in full bloom, so the trees are vibrant oranges and yellows. As a leaf falls, it finds its way on to the windshield of an armored truck, making its deliveries into the city. It wasn't clear what company this truck was working for, however, as it was completely white. But it was quite large, to be sure. And it was doing its best to get wherever it was going as fast as possible, weaving through traffic, although certainly not at any insane speeds. But it did imply a bit of a rush....
10. GM The horrible figure floats high in the sky, readying himself to dive upon his prey, like some kind of perverse hawk. Orange light blasts forth from his rockets, hurtling him back to where he left his blinded prey. But as he goes in, he sees a big hole has been made. Likely, the drone smashed down into the sewer, trying to hide in the darkness. But that would do no good. His enhanced vision is capable of seeing heat signatures, and Harrier's shines clearly even so far down. His grin widening as he approaches, his fist gears up, as he ducks swiftly into the hole, fist first, and collides the hand right into the drone's cheek. It seemed luck was on the drones side, however, as he seemed to lose some momentum of the hit during the slight modification to his trajectory. It's still a painful hit, but not quite as satisfyingly violent as he had hoped.
11. Alright. I'll put up an IC post, but here's where we stand Harrier (0HP, 1 Bruise, Blind) Vanquisher (3 Injuries, 3 Bruises) Harrier has to make another DC 28 Fort save, but with +1 this turn
12. Harrier moves back to ground-level, and makes a notice check to see Harrier in the hole Notice (1d20+10=24) He sees him and changes his array to Flight 5/Strike 9 and Charges (And Power Attacks) in. Harrier's in Cover, giving him +4 Defense, to a total of 18 for this turn. Charge Strike (1d20+11=25) -5 for Power Attacking gives him 20, which is still just enough. DC 35 Toughness check for Harrier.
13. GM Good. Good. It still has the killer instinct. The....thing's "eyes" widen just a bit in surprise at how quickly Harrier goes on the attacks, but he has a big grin on his face, the disgusting orange energy seeping out from between his teeth. His arms were wide, almost asking him to come to attack! And attack the former drone does. Quite an assault as well. The initial blow against the wall causes a big shack against the building, causing the brick pieces to fly away, leaving an indent in the shape of Vanquisher's body. Feeling the coldness of the blade come up and strike across his cheek, Vanquisher's head turns from the force, as the orange ichor splatters to the ground in the alley. He begins to turn back, but the blow to his stomach causes the entity to begin to bend over, spitting a bit more of that orange energy on the ground. But, as the final blow comes down, the creature reaches up and swats the blow away, and it brings its head up, its awful, grinning face meeting Harrier eye to eye, and with a roar, a massive light comes from his eyes and inside his mouth, filling the alley in a horrible orange light, like a perverse sun. "Good hit. Good hit indeed...DRONE...you still have the instinct...but that's enough of that..." After the blinding light starts to fade, the figure has blasted away, gone somewhere high, high up in the air...
14. Alright then. Vanquisher's gonna fly up,and back at an angle 5,000 feet and then the next turn will begin. Standings at the end of this turn Harrier (1 HP, Dazzled, no damage) Vanquisher (3 Injuries + Bruises, pretty far away!) Harrier's turn. Make your Fortitude Check (DC 28)
15. He rolls much better this time, although it still gets him another Injury and Bruise Toughness Roll (1d20+10=28) And his next one Toughness Save (1d20+9=16) Fiat to Improve Roll Improve Roll (1d20+9=28) No damage And on his turn, he switches his Cosmic array to Dazzle 13 and lets loose with a Power Attack... Dazzle Attack (1d20+12=30) (EDIT: I made a mistake and forgot to put -5 on for Power Attack, so it's a 25. Still hits, though. That's a DC 28 Reflex save for Harrier
16. I noticed The Vanquisher has a few things missing on his sheet that I meant to give him, so I'd like to add the following to his feats: Fearless Improved Initiative Startle Weapon Break And the following to his Skills: Intimidate, 16 ranks (4pp) Also, his DC Block is wrong. The DC for Dazzle and Snare should each be 23, not 28 Edits done by Geez3r
17. 1d20+11=27 Alright, so same damage again, giving him 2 bruises and injuries. Fiating the Stun away, so one more HP for Harrier! Initiative time Vanquisher Initiative (1d20+5=13) So Initivative is Harrier (Fatigued [to be removed this round with HP], 3 HP[to be reduced to 2 at this round]) Vanquisher (2 injured, 2 bruised) Meaning it's your turn again.
18. Wow, very nice. Vanquisher rolls like garbage Toughness roll for surprise round (1d20+12=17) Fiat for Improve Roll (HP for Harrier) Fiat re-roll (1d20+12=21) Die said 9, so on Improve Roll that's a 19, so 31 total. Injured, bruised, and stunned!
19. Victory waited patiently for Fulcrum and Dok to get the necessary adjustments for him, taking a good look at the night sky. It's clear tonight. That always helps. It'd be a shame to do this with an overcast. While he waits, he removes his suit piece by piece, being very careful not to damage any of it, since he doesn't actually own any of it. Normally he just explodes his clothes off, but these are pretty pricey. After he removes his jacket, shirt, and undershirt, he lets the armor routine start up, and in a moment all the fleshy parts of his body get covered in his armored shell...which also means that his "decency" is retained when he takes the lower half of his suit off. Folding it all carefully and placing it on a table, he pops out the various boosters and all, and opens a hatch on his hip. "That's where the fuel goes..." He also moves his left arm, and a panel flips open. "And you can put the trajectory in through there. My body will know what to do..."
20. As the new arrival came in, with Victory standing at the door, he considers stopping her and asking for her clearance to head in, but when she seems to be familiar with one of the guests, he just lets her go. Victory and Dr. Volk have been quiet during the discussion of a new communal base, mainly because they wouldn't be taking part in it. However, Dr. Volk had been writing something in the notepad she brought with her. Presumably something regarding what the other guests were discussing about this base of theirs. It might be something worth lending funds to someday...
21. GM The familiar figure straightened up, rotating his shoulders a bit to get some sort of stiffness out, and speaks. The voice, however, was not a familiar one. It certainly wasn't Victory's. It was a deeper voice. A much more hateful-sounding one. It began a bit quiet at first, but it wasn't without force behind it. "Wrong? Well....I suppose you could say that..." As he speaks, he turns. And when he does, it was clear that something was VERY wrong... When the figure turns, even in the darkness, a sinister light came from him. Where the eyes and mouth would be, a disgusting orange light emits, parting the shadows, making them dance wickedly in the growing night. The light didn't seem to be just limited to the figure's eyes, as lines of the disgusting energy course throughout it like veins. "Greetings from the other side....drone."
22. GM During his walk home, the strange orange tint the sky was taking got a bit more intense. It wasn't long before it seemed to fill up the entire sky. The clouds moved much faster than the breeze, and the temperature seemed to drop ever so gradually. Before too long, though, Murdok would be stopped. Going through one of the alleys he needed to pass on his way home, a sound not unlike that of a plane flying overhead blasted past him, the trees and light posts shaking from a force of sudden wind. It blows past him, about 10 yards in front, covered some by the shadows in the alley, as well as the approach to evening, the figure lands on the ground, kicking up a bit of dust. It was hard to make out, with the figure's back was to him, but that speed and the large sihilouette with the pieces sticking up and out the shoulder areas could only belong to one person....
23. Victory's grip isn't something he's always aware of himself, but he tries to keep it down a s much as he can when he's not punching someone or lifting up a tank or anything along those lines. The fact that he can hold champagne flutes without destroying them is a testament to that. But still, his handshake is a potent one. Smiling, Lance nods, and motions to the door he came back in from. "I was talking to him out there, and the crew setting up the fireworks isn't far. I'm sure he wouldn't have any problem with any extra help, but we might as well ask him. I, for one, will take any help I can get, since I'm the one who's gonna be up there." As he starts to get ready to go back, he turns to the extremely tall guest again. "By the way, on your way in, did you see any footprints smashed into the ground? I was hoping I didn't damage his entryway too much with my big entrance..."
24. Victory wasn't really looking where he was going, as he was just going over what he might do in his head. But then, he looked up, and seemed to spot the Doktor...and then he spotted who he was talking with! That's...that's a big lady, all right. Well, he'd hate to bump in, but time was running out before the show starts, and he needs to spread some ideas. Making his way through the crowd, he brushes past people, making his way over to the two. Lance first looks to the...very very quite tall Fulcrum, and extends his hand. "Well hello. My name is Lance, although most people just call me Victory." He gives a momentary cough to clear his throat. "I do hate to interject, but our host wanted me to see if the good Doktor would be willing to help out with the fireworks display. I'm going to be participating, and he thought we might be able to come up with something special for it."
25. Some real simple ones this month, to keep up with PL limits. Change the Dynamic AP of Strike to say Dynamic Alternate Power: Strike 11 (Feats: Accurate, Knockback 2, Mighty) [15PP]
No actual pp cost change for the array, just updating the maximum it can be shifted to. And for actual pp spending: Add one Base Attack (2pp) one Base Defense (2pp) And under powers, add Toughness (Extras: Impervious) [2pp] Which will bring my Toughness up to 11 And to round off all my points this month, change the Magnetism weakness to say Vulnerability (Magnetism, Frequency: Uncommon, Intensity: Minor [+1DC]) [-1PP] Geez3r ran out of clever things to say
