  1. Erin twisted her body as the roof came rushing up, trying to keep her opponent between herself and the hard surface. She gave him another punch for good measure, tears from the wind stinging her eyes as they flew faster and faster.
  2. Erin didn't bother to reply, instead locking her legs around his body, freeing up one of her arms. She used that to deliver another solid punch to her opponent, who couldn't exactly dodge from this distance. She didn't pay attention to the ground looming up beneath them, all her attention still on the fight.
  3. Erin does not roll as well to continue hanging on.
  4. Erin tightened her grip, not from fear of falling, but because it was the fastest way to inflict more damage on her opponent. She squeezed him around the waist as hard as she could, her arms like a vise around all-too-fragile ribs. "Land, damn you," she grated, though almost as though she were talking to herself, not as though she expected to be heard or obeyed.
  5. "I'm glad," Stesha said, sneaking a surreptitious glance at Merry's midriff. She certainly wasn't the mom to be, unless she was having the shower at least five months early, but maybe she was the aunt... yeah, like she still had any misapprehension that this was a baby shower. Or that the money was a tip and not a payoff to get rid of her, but she wasn't proud enough to turn down the much-too-large gratuity. She had rent to pay, after all, and maybe she could take herself out for a mani-pedi and make herself feel better. Or a facial, in honor of the damn hickey she'd woken up with the morning after the date. She accepted the money, tucking it away into her folder, and gave the invoice one last look. "Thank you so much. Everything seems to be in order here." She passed over the receipts, and a business card. "I hope you have a wonderful time at your party, and that you keep Flowers By Design in mind for all your floral needs. If you have any questions or need anything, please feel free to give us a call. And tell Jack that I said hello."
  6. Stesha is power stunting Transmit (affects others) off her regular Transmit, and using a hero point to offset the fatigue.
  7. When Moira got back to the living room, she found Fleur studying the bonsai tree, which was looking perkier for the attention. Fleur straightened, tugging her hood back up over her green hair, which seemed to be the extent of her costume. "Here, we can take a shortcut... I think," she offered. She extended a hand to Moira, closing her fingers tightly around the other hero's fingers when Moira took it. With her free hand, she reached out for the tree, touching as many of the leaves at once as she could. Instantaneously, Moira felt a sensation she'd never experienced before. It was a little bit like being vacuumed up by a tree, then spat through a telephone network of vines. All she could see was green, all she could smell was the overwhelming aroma of newly-mown grass. The whole thing lasted barely a second, and suddenly they were out, standing in the middle of a dark and empty park space. Fleur, who looked very pleased with herself, now had her hand on the bark of a spindly maple tree. "I wasn't sure that would work," she admitted. "I've never tried it with a passenger before."
  8. With a short scream of frustration, the first sound she'd made since combat began, Erin leapt into the after the flying villain, bringing her fist up under his chin as hard as she could, then grabbed hold of him around the waist. She wasn't about to let him get away to attack from above.
  9. Poopy butts. Erin leaps and attacks again. She rolls a 29. Blackbird can eat it.
  10. Erin uses Leaping, Acrobatics, and Move-By attack to reach the roof, attack and land safely. She rolls a 23 on her attack.
  11. With hardly a conscious thought, Erin leapt into the air, her strong legs easily carrying her to the level of the rooftop and over the head of this new opponent. As she flew by, she delivered a punishing kick to the head of her potential assailant. After connecting, she brought her feet back together to land safely on the rooftop and spun to face him.
  12. "Um, sure, if you want to," Stesha said, putting the last bite of cheesecake in her mouth. She hadn't intended to eat the entire piece, but it had been really good. She looked at Moira's outfit. "I can wait while you get changed?" she suggested, a bit diffidently. Far be it from her to dictate what a superhero wore to work, but Moira's pajama look might draw more attention than would be convenient.
  13. "Right..." Stesha agreed dubiously. "Paul, can you get a dropcloth from the van? We'll just cover the couch so it doesn't get ruined by crumbs or water." With Paul's help, she quickly spread out a white cloth over the divan, then scattered a few loose blossoms around, cleverly concealing the vials that held the water keeping them alive. "I think that should be everything," she told Merry. "I just need someone authorized on this business account to sign the invoice, and we'll get out of your way."
  14. Stesha took the card and tucked it into her knapsack, which was also covered with screen-printed daisies. "Thanks," she said sincerely. "And I don't know... what time is it?" She pulled out her phone and checked the time, then slid it back into its pocket. "I probably don't have too much time before people who go to work early will be up and around, but I was thinking about maybe getting to one more park. I don't really sleep anymore, but I've got to shower and do the dishes and stuff before work. Um, here." She dug around a little more and pulled out a pad of sticky notes and a pen, writing down her cell phone number. "I don't know if I could ever be very much use, but, um, maybe in case of a plant emergency." She passed the note to Moira.
  15. "Well, no," Stesha admitted, "but if my employer found out I was moonlighting, I'd be in big trouble. To say nothing of if my parents heard. I'm not, y'know, the monster-fighting type anyway. Unless maybe it was a monster with terrible hay fever." She laughed and took another bite. "But I came to Freedom City because it's full of heroes. I just didn't think I'd meet one on my first night out."
  16. Wander didn't seem to be looking around, or indeed doing anything to assess the larger situation. In one smooth motion, she straddled her downed opponent and put her fists together, driving them down with immense force into the already damaged neck of the fake villain. Blood fountained up to cover her hands as she unemotionally assured herself that this villain would not rise again, then stood up, eyes blank and alert as she looked for the next threat.
  17. Erin performs a coup de grace,, right to the neck with an elbow drop. If she can, she'll literally knock his block off.
  18. Stesha took her time with the big arrangements, knowing that Paul was perfectly competent to deal with the smaller vases. The flowers really did look striking against the dark woods and sober colors of the building, and they would only be better when the moonflowers opened in the evening. She gave the roses a little nudge to open some of them to perfect fullness, releasing their strong fragrances into the air. "There, perfect," she murmured, surveying the effect of the flowers in the main room. She personally thought it was a little understated, with no balloons and no banners, but she was used to her tastes not exactly matching those of her high society clientele. "Where's the cake table?" she asked Merry. "It's always nice to put something there."
  19. Stesha listened, wide-eyed, to Moira's narrative, absently digging into the cheesecake without really thinking about it. "This is really good," she blurted out when Moira paused. "I mean, the story is amazing, but the cheesecake... where did you get it?" This whole situation just kept getting more surreal, sitting in a strange house in the middle of the night, eating cheesecake with a superpowered woman who was undeniably supermodel-gorgeous when she wasn't covered head to toe in slime. It seemed like the best thing to do was just roll with it. "So they just attacked you in public? How did you manage to fight them? I mean, don't you have a secret identity?"
  20. The simulated supervillain failed to heed the warning, laughing as he flew towards her. Without another thought, Erin drew back a fist and plunged it into his face, meeting it with the force of a speeding freight train. His neck snapped back as he tumbled out of the sky. Moving with silent speed and deadly purpose, Erin jumped on him, looking entirely ready to finish what she had started.
  21. "Oh..." Stesha blinked again, getting the oddest feeling she was being taken for a ride. "Most of our showers are for babies who haven't arrived yet. It's really better not to give them flowers, the pollen can irritate their skin, or they might mouth one and get sick... Maybe you could pick up a few silk flowers to pin on the baby, if you wanted? Or you could just press some for her baby book, so she can appreciate them when she's old enough." Moira dug into her bag, pulling out a sheet of paper. "Here, I have instructions for preserving keepsake flowers, if you'd like those." She was starting to feel uneasy, but Merry had been nothing but pleasant to her. Maybe it was just the atmosphere.
  22. Erin holds her action, but if he flies up to attack her, she will beat the tar out of him.
