  1. I'm still working on my PL10 villain (between other projects in real life), but I doubt the heros can really "fight" a sentient disease in the traditional sense (fight my current primary host, yes, the villain himself, doubtful). As far as villainous ideas/plots go, I have plenty of them (I think?), without resorting to widespread destruction.

  4. And what do you do if you want to be a hero and help people, but your powers make being viewed as a hero impossible? Imagine someone whose elemental creation/control power is based on fecal matter. I've seen it, more than once. Does the poor citizen whose precious convertible has just been stolen ask this hero for help, and risk the thieves being stopped by encasing the car in a huge ball of poop? How do people feel about fighting someone who sucks his opponents through his own asshole into a dimension inhabited by living fecal elementals? Don't laugh, there's a published graphic novel about a hero with that ability. What do you do if your power has karmic consequences on onlookers? You do something, and the urge/virtue/vice corresponding to what you did is drained from bystanders and witnesses. Save lives, and the witnesses become more prone to murder. Do charitable deeds and see thefts skyrocket. Become a villain and steal, and watch the neighborhood grow safer. Beat up heroes and be seen doing it on the evening news, and watch gang activity fade away. What if the villain isn't really committing crimes? What if he's an actor (they do say all the world is a stage) playing the part of a bad guy for an otherdimensional TV show? What if all the major villains are actually undercover law enforcement officers, and their "crimes" are okayed with the police ahead of time?

  7. So a character from another dimension (or whose headquarters is in another dimension) would be playing relatively solo much of the time? No GM or ref handling NPCs?

  13. More expensive? That's funny... 3 points per rank sounds cheaper. I could have sworn my book said 4 per rank. Range doesn't seem appropriate, seeing as the power (and the character) is an infectious disease. I would bump the duration up to Continuous (lasting) or Permanent (lasting), and use less ranks of Possession in combination with a limited No Saving Throw (+2 extra, I believe?) so once they are successfully infected, they can't throw him off without help, but they do get their normal saves to avoid possession/infection in the first place. Limited, in that despite the extra, they would get regular saves to resist individual commands/suggestions that go strongly against their own natures. So in order to make fools out of selected hosts, I would buy several ranks of Empowerment, boost the duration, and apply some kind of limitation so it takes a while to move the points around and program the victims to play their parts? Hmm. Perhaps Empowerment linked to a Mental Transform and some kind of sensory effect(s) might work without the Possession. But then how would I handle the contagious aspect? I'll have to think about that.

  16. A kinder, gentler Joker... I like that. Unfortunately, the only MnM2e book I have is the main rulebook.

  19. Hmm. Perhaps I'm approaching it from the wrong tack. A Transform, combined with Summon Minion that adds 5-7 PLs onto the target, up to a max of PL10 (so a typical bystander on the street could get 7 PLs worth of comedy powers, and infecting the police commissioner could inflict 5 PLs worth on top of his normal traits)? Again, with limited control and taking plenty of time for it to work. I don't want this character to even be effective in normal combat, much less a combat monster. Filling a sleazy attorney up with helium and flying him over a used car dealership for a sale would be more in his line - with a punchline of Pop Goes the Weasel if the sale ends before some hero figures the trick out and rescues the man.

  22. So in order to, say, re-build my hosts from the inside to produce theatrical special effects, I'd buy Shapechange, put Alternate Save (Will) and Subtle on it, and apply a limitation so it takes hours or days to move the points around? And to keep my hosts safe, use the True Resurrection form of Regeneration with Alternate Save (Will), only operating if they get killed while doing one of my stunts? I.e. Mike the biker gets blown sky high when the trick airbag in the seat of his Harley is set off, but I'm keeping his mind safe and rebuild him alive and well afterwards.

  25. How would I modify Possession to do the following? a) Share physical powers with the host Retain co-existence even when they make a save against a command (the character is a collectively sentient disease) c) Limit control so all but one host are manipulated en masse, not individually, and not on a combat time scale. I'm pretty sure the conscious and subtle modifiers from mind control would be in use, so my victims would remain aware and going about their lives when I'm not setting up appointments or arranging for them to move stuff around in preparation for some plan. The character would have, at any one time, a single primary body that would be the person playing the villain role, and under the disease's direct control. This is the sort of villain who engineers seemingly spontaneous song & dance routines breaking out. This is the sort of villain who goes after people's dignity, not their wallets, and does performance art and clown shows through the people it has infected.
