  3. The creature roared when the fire hit its skin. Its putrid flesh boiled and blistered under the heat, and the the whole body shuddered violently. Before Darla could strike again, she was engulfed in tentacles. The nightmare slammed her hard against the stone plateau and then hurled her away as hard as it could. The little girl hit the ground and slid right over the edge into the dark abyss.

  6. Fort save. (1d20 6=14) So he loses 7 points from his impervious Toughness. Now he's Toughness 5 [impervious 4] Toughness save. (1d20+8=27) That should have been +5, so he rolled a 24 and is bruised and injured. Grapple check: Grapple. (1d20=5) 5 + 19 = 24.

  18. Darla fell and fell into the darkness. The void around her was so black, she couldn't tell if her magic was failing or if there was simply nothing in the void to see. She drifted in the nothingness for what seemed like an eternity until... THUD She landed on the hard stony surface of the broad plateau where she first faced Nightmare. As her vision slowly adjusted to the darkness and her magical sight dialed in on the surroundings, she spotted it. Near the far edge of the plateau, the shapeless, writhing form of the nightmare was waiting. As soon as Darla touched the stone plateau, the creature stirred, and a wave of hatred surged across the distance and hit the little girl like a ton of bricks. The Nightmare was aware of her presence, and its wasn't happy.

  21. Agnes shruged. "I'm not sure I get it either, but they seemed intent on arguing, especially those who were looking for a scientific explanation. It always surprises me when people who live in this amazing universe are so reluctant to see God at work." Agnes sighed. "Oh well." "That sounds helpful." She had wanted to say "fun," but wasn't sure if that was the right thing to say. Her conscience told her that bashing villains shouldn't be "fun." It was a tragic necessity. But Agnes really did enjoy unleashing her powers. It was a moral failing she would need to work on. "When do you think you'll patrol next?"

  24. "Hey!" Lila's seemingly disembodied voice exclamied. "Watch where you're poking me!" She grabbed Bailey's arm tightly. "What is happening to me? I need to sit down." Lila sat down on the curb and put her head in her hands. She was trying not to panic. Breath. Deep breaths. Lila opened her eyes and saw her hands. "Oh?" Slowly she returned to view. She looked up at the others. "Can you see me?"
