  1. In a moment, the whole world went dark for Catherine. When the light returned, she found herself standing in the woods. Sunlight was failing, barely penetrating the thick canopy, though whether it was morning or evening she couldn't tell. Just ahead of her through a shallow thicket was a narrow overgrown path. It disappeared into the darkness of the trees in both directions.

Catherine stood there, knee deep in thorns and thistles for what seemed like an eternity, transfixed on the path. Her trance was broken by the sound of crying . . . and panting. A shadowy form appeared on the path. It was a girl, perhaps Ginny's age, and she was running along the path. She wore a long dress and her clothing was badly torn. The girl clutched her shirt tight against her chest as she ran. Catherine's heart began to race and her stomach wrenched into knots. She felt as if she was being chased.

    THUD

The girl tripped on a root and went sprawling face first into the dirt. She tried to get up but her ankle was twisted. As she put her weight on it, she yelped and fell back to the ground again. Catherin's ankle felt like it had just been stabbed with a knife. The girl started crawling along the path.

    "There she is!"

Two more forms appeared on the path. One tall and thin the other small, like a boy. They were both dressed in black. The taller man ran over to where the girl was lying on the ground. He drew back his handâ€â€he was holding something in it . . . a bottle of some kindâ€â€and he struck the girl in the head.

The lights went out for Catherine again. Slowly, consciousness returned, and she was lying on the path. Broken glass was scattered on the ground around her head. Her whole body felt numb. And then she heard footsteps. Someone was coming. Catherine looked up and saw another girl, probably a little older than Ginny, and she wasn't wearing a long dress. The girl was walking away from where Catherine was stretched out in the dirt, so she couldn't see her face. The girl was wearing a little black dress, and it looked expensive, like something she'd seen on the red carpet at a Hollywood premier. The girl was holding a bottle in her hand and was staggering along the path. She was walking with a very irregular gate. Was she injured? No, she was only wearing one shoe. The girl hobbled into the darkness. And the lights went out again.

In a moment, Catherine found herself back in the park. Ginny was rubbing her hand and calling her name . . . very loudly.

  2. The disarmed Tech Priest looked intently at the place in the air where he thought Dr Archeville was supposed to be, but, apparently seeing nothing, he turned his attention to the Legionnaire. The Tech Priest pulled back the sleeve of his robe, and pressed a few buttons on the back of his gauntlet. His fist began to crackle with energy and glow brightly, and then he launched himself at the Roman. The Legionnaire, however, was far too deft at hand-to-hand to be taken off guard. The Tech Priests energy punch went wide, and the Legionnaire easily stepped out of the way.

The second Tech Priest, was just about to try to blast the Legionnaire when his comrade jumped into hand-to-hand. So he turned his energy weapon on Kizzy again . . . just for good measure. The blast struck her in the shoulder and sent her reeling.

  3. FYI, I'm going to be out of town, away from my computer, and away from the internet from June 2nd until June 13th. I may be gone longer, but if I am, I'll let you guys know as soon as I can.

    Ya'll behave yourselves while I'm gone. :)

  4. Question.

If I completely remake Dryad, but she still is Dryad with different powers, can I keep the PP I have spare?

    Sorry, no.

If you are remaking her powers completely, she need to be redone and resubmitted to the character bank just like a new character.

  5. Powers: [46]

super-senses (danger sense, direction sense, distance sense) [1]

    obscure (visual, cloud) [6]

healing (extras: total; flaws: self-only) [2]

    super speed [2] (rapid fire)

    protection [5]

    deflect (ranged) (slow projectiles) [3]

I only get 40 PPs here:

    Super-senses - 3 ranks = 3 PPs

    Obscure 6 (Visual) = 12 PPs

    Healing 2 (Total, Self-only) = 4 PPs

    Super Speed 2 = 10 PPs

    Protection 5 = 5 PPs

Deflect 3 (Slow Projectiles, Ranged) = 6 PPs

    = 40 PPs.

  6. While the Legionnaire gave a rousing speech, it just wasn't enough to overcome the skill and training of the Tech Priests. Dr. Archeville took a swing at the nearest Tech Priest, and even though the Priest couldn't see the attack coming, his other senses tipped him off. The Tech Priest deftly ducked out of the way of the blow. The second Tech Priest had an easier task. He saw the shadow whip lash out at him, but he quickly interposed his staff to block the attack.

The Tech Priest who narrowly ducked under Dr. Archeville's swing assumed a fighting stance, but didn't retreat or attack. He reached up under his hood and began fiddling with something at the side of his visor. The second Tech Priest counter-attacked, shooting a bolt of energy at her. It struck her dead-on in the chest.
