  1. You, my friend, are great. Thanks for all of that. The pic is very close to what I had in mind! My thoughts exactly That is a typo - I'll fix that  How's this: ...The shock drove Vernan over the edge and his rediscovered humanity drained before the very eyes of those around him. He staggered towards the hospital exit, images of his dead wife and freak child spinning through his mind. His life was over - gone. Worse that that! It would have been better never to have been. His face was twitching in odd ways - distorting. Hospital staff were conflicted on either trying to help, or avoid the sweaty, skittish man who seemed to be tumbling down the hallways. His hand, lightly trailing along the hospital wall absently, began to leave a mark in it's wake. His mouth began to open, making room for already ragged, sharp teeth. Inside, his mind was crumbling. All of his life he'd been careful. He counted things - that's what he did. Numbers were easy, they were either there, or he would find them. Collating was what he'd been born to do, and now nothing added up! It was as if his conciousness was checking out, making room for something else that was making itself at home - this something else seemed to be bringing it's own furniture with it! By the time Vernan had made it to the hospital foyer, people shrieked when they saw him: glistening, sweaty skin under patchy, course hair. A male nurse came to try and aid him, but Vernan snapped - literally - at him, and he fell backwards. That's when Vernan saw it - the shiney watch on the nurse's uniform - so shiny! He made for it, growling in excitement as he did so. He slashed wildly in his attempt at the jewel, and hurt the nurse rather badly. He may have killed the poor man had not some of Freedom City's heroes (who happened to be in the hospital visiting a colleague at the time) heard the ruckus. They confronted Vernan, now completely transformed, but he eluded capture by escaping down into the sewers. Now he lives there, periodically going into the surface world to collate and collect whatever takes his fancy... Thoughts? I see it as his body was genetically predisposition to go either way (human or rat like), and in the end, given the cicumstances, the rat won. Just like when people have physchological or even physical reactions to the world around them that remain permement. No, he doesn't change shape. Apologies - I was describing the things that he takes into the sewers. I'll make it clearer. You are correct in both of these - I will fix those at once!
