Nightmare on 70th Street (IC)

Nights were never quiet in the Fens. It wasn't the most dangerous neighborhood in the city, but night was when almost everyone hung out there dirty laundry. There was a dealer on almost every corner, at least six yards of neon for every seedy store and bar buzzing brilliantly to attract the eye of someone wanting a good time in the not so wholesome sense. There were muggers and pick pockets as well, but she had taken three out on her way over to her destination and usually didn't find much more then that before midnight. For now, her focus wasn't on the bright and proudly sinful area that was the Fens, in fact she was looking for the only place that was very much the opposite.

What remained of the movie hut contrasted very dramatically with the rest of the Fens. It was one of the few places in the city that after it's destruction, stayed that way for several days following. It didn't surprise her, barely anybody had known it was their in the first place. It was almost a well kept secret of the small community where high crime, and in turn the media never touched, and even if it did have some merchandise that was just as dirty in content as the rest of the neighborhood, the vast majority of the selection was the secondhand movies and treasures of the previous generation. Sil was not opposed to DVDs, but she was still fond of the sheer durability tapes and kept a small collection she took from her parents house after they had effectively replaced the movies and this place was one of the only ones of it's kind in the City of Tomorrow that provided these tapes that ranged from bootlegs of old shows she liked when she was a girl, to movies from companies that had long shut down and were unable to make rereleases in the new digital age. It was very much a place of reminisence that she gave lots of business, and now it was nothing but a heap of rubble.

She stalked quietly in the shadows of the neighboring building that had not been touched at all from the destruction. From the side she could see in the shadow of the half moon old geniune wood counter tilted and covered with plaster dust from the wall collapsed on top of it and started to vaguely remember standing there herself in a yellow track suite with a small stack of movies picking out some of the little sweets at the front that only cost a dime. Shaking away the memory she began to examine the scene more closely. Scanning the toppled shelves the videos seemed oddly disarrayed, even for something that had fallen sometimes some maintain there position by leaning up against areas of contact, but that was the case. Every video, in every case was removed and scattered around the premises. As if someone was looking for something. Moving into the rubble, she very carefully examined the tapes, several were battered and broken beyond repair, others were simply buried by the toppled shelves, but where they fell, they all seemed to go in one direction like they were faced into a sink hole. A basement? Maybe if she loo.....

Her train of thought was immediately broken by the sound of footsteps, well if you could call them that. Whoever it was sounded like they were practically tripping over themselves. Still, she quickly went 2D and into the shadow of a case that was only propped up by a pile of tapes it probably once held and laid flat while she watched quietly into the darkness to see who was coming.

The rooftops had been a poor choice.

Creature Feature knew how important it was to stay out of sight, and few people ever look up when they're minding their own business. With the Wolfguy's natural affinity for jumping and the shorter apartment buildings and shacks in the Fens, the high ground seemed like a natural place to practice moving around in a new form.

Unfortunately, those same rooftops were often in a poor state of disrepair.

Landing hard on the rooftop adjacent to the ruins of Video Head, Vance let out a yelp of surprise as his leg sunk down into a newly-made hole. He quickly dragged his leg out, stumbling back towards the video store in order to survey the damage he caused. Much to Feature's relief, the building appeared to be dark and empty.

While backing up, Vance also discovered that the rooftop ended sooner than he expected.

"ACK!"

Mustering remarkable grace, the wolf creature twisted himself around in mid air in an attempt to catch himself falling. Slapping the ground to absorb some of the impact, Creature Feature landed belly-first.

"Ugh... That didn't go so well..."

Link to comment

Well that was certianly... graceful.

Ignoring the internal snark, she moved forward a bit to get a better look. The lighting wasn't all that great to be honest, and it was both a good thing and a bad thing. Good thing, was that it was easy to hide, bad thing she had a hard time getting a good look at whoever it was that was there. Hearing the voice, it sounded like a rather gruff male voice. He was a rather big fella, rather hairy as well. Inching forward she took another glance around the abandoned movie store looking for a better way around.

Flattening herself against a near by wall generally obstructed by other cases she moved slowly as her darkened figure blended into the shadows. Getting a better look at the creature, she could almost make out some features. His face was a bit longer then usually, especially around the middle it seemed to stretch out to, a snout? His teeth were slightly rested just under it, and were shown to be very long and very sharp in the dim moon light. His eyes were still closed from the impact maybe he was trying to think or something. The light continued on and spread over his arms and shoulders down to his forearms. They were hairy as well, they were also connected to a pair of very large hands each individually and menancingly clawed. Keeping her place hidden she couldn't see much more of his form as it was shouded in the dark shadow cast by the moonlight.

She stayed flat as she watched out onto the scene and processed what exactly she was seeing. This figure struck as many strings of nostalgia as the shop itself. A dark night in front of a bright screen, sitting with pop corn on her father's lap, hiding her head into his shoulder whenever it became scary, and proceeding to spend the night in her parents bed so the monster wouldn't come out of the screen and eat her in her sleep. Though the memories were both fond, and a bit silly in retrospect, in her own darkened voice looking out at the creature before her, she let her thoughts slip out of her lips almost unconciously.

"You have got to be kidding me."

"Who said that?!"

Vance jumped up as fast as he could, raising his arms in a make-shift kung-fu defensive stance that was common in bad action movies. He looked around for the source of the hushed female voice. In his flustered state, even his newly-acquired darkvision helped little to pinpoint anything out of the ordinary.

"I-I'm warning you! If you're another ninja I... uh, eat ninjas! For breakfast!" Vance stammered as his eyes darted in every direction, trying in desperation to cover all of the vast number of ambush points available in the vicinity.

For Breakfast? Gads, that's lame. Remember the snarly face! Do the snarly face!

The wolf-creature contorted his face into a snarling figure, trying his best to conjure the old horror magic.

"Grrrr!"

He looked directly at her and then missed her completely. She watched quietly as he almost stumbled again and locked himself into a rather horrible fighting pose. She heard his stammered yell into the darkness and let out a silent sigh,

Why do they always think I'm a ninja?

Moving quietly against the wall to try and get to an opening of an adequite size to squeeze through she turned to look and caught him doing a very exuaggerated snarl which she onlygave a light snort to in response. Finding an opening directly behind him, she walked over and regained her dimensions as she watched the hair on his back still ruffling with his snarl.

"You need to see a better hair dresser."

((I believe the first check was a stealth one, and the second was a will one.))

((I believe that's accurate.))

"ACK!"

With the sudden appearance of a person from behind, the shocked Creature simultaneously backed up, flipped around, and tried to cover his head with his hands. The overall result made Vance's giant wolf paws stumble over each other, causing unceremonious crash to the ground on his back.

Peeking from behind his claws, Vance still couldn't get a good look at his alleged assailant. He pointed a clawed finger at the silhouette of a figure.

"What have you done with Mrs. Lights, villain?" Creature Feature demanded with as much authority as he could muster. Flat on the ground, covering his face from attack and felled by someone half his size, that amount of authority wasn't much.

Link to comment

She continued as the creature almost jumped out of his furry feet when she appeared from behind and fell backwards cowering behind huge paws like he wasn't some large furry monster who could probably take her in a fair fight. Her mask didn't accurately show her expression, but she could feel her face relaxing into it's usual slight scowl as another sigh escaped her lips. Whoever this was, there was a couple of things certian, they weren't any real threat, or if they were they were a dang good actor.

This contimplation ended when she heard the large beast point a nailed finger at her and started accusing her.

Great,

Rolling her eyes slightly, she started to walk over to the creatures side, kneeling down only slightly to meet his eye level she gave him another once over. He was indeed large, and his features could be fearsome, but a closer look revealed nothing of the sort. Even as he tried to talk tough, there was fear and uncertianty encrusted into his face. Though for the body as a whole it seemed very unusual, on the face it seemed as comfortable an expression as her currently invisible scowl. Reaching out her hand, her voice lost a little edge of the cynicism as she spoke this time,

"You need some help getting back up?"

Link to comment

"Uh... thanks?"

Vance's voice betrayed his obvious confusion to the scenario. As he got back to his feet with a little help from the suspicious stranger, he ran the facts through his head again.

A lady. She's in a black cloth mask too. A ninja mask. How do they see out of that, anyway? Oh, and she can appear out of thin air and she's not afraid of my snarling wolf-face either. Not afraid? She's not even remotely *impressed*. She's the real deal.

And she helped me up. I got helped up by a *ninja*. This is so...

"Cool..." Vance blurted out his conclusion in a confused, dream-like daze. Realizing his folly, he shook his head to regain his senses. "Uh, what I mean is... uh, thanks. You're not scared of the whole...?" Vance motioned to his face with a free hand.

"Uh, nevermind." Vance shrugged off his question, diminished by the piercing gaze of the alleged ninja. Instead, he extended his large, be-clawed hand to the mysterious visitor. "I'm V... Er, Creature Feature."

Link to comment

He was a bit heavy, but she kept a steady hand as she got him to his feet. He seemed to have a puzzled look all the while, but she wasn't terrible concerned about it. Taking another glance around she took inventory of the store once more, from this angle she noticed that in one area that had been previously occupied by a cabinet there was now a large hole in the floor. The whole area of the floor seemed to tip towards that hole which probably meant that was the are that caused the initial collapse that shook the foundation. She almost took a step towards it when the creature started to speak again. He was mubbling a, something about being scared but shrugged it off. Hearing his voice though made her remember that even in the rather awkwardness of the whole thing, he had asked her about Ms. Lights, the owner of this place who didn't seem to have been there since. Did he know her?

Meeting his gaze once more she found his face as he introduced himself with a hand shake. He started to say one word, something with a va sound, but changed his mind to a rather more curious alias. She might of questioned the name itself, but then again, there were active heroes in the city limits named Dead Head, and Supercape so it really wasn't that unusual a name, and it rhymed.

Grabbing his hand she gave it a squeeze absently, even though his so much bigger then her's in comparison that she could only really grab a few fingers.

"Silhouette,"

She paused for a few moments looking around once more,

"Do you have any idea what happened here?"

She moved her hand about the premises of the now wrecked building as she examined his face to see if it gave away any hints of knowledge on his part.

"You don't know? But I thought you were...?"

Vance's overactive imagination had already explained the presence of the heroine - a lone ninja in a desperate time where evil ninjas attack video stores in order to kidnap and ransom off old ladies to fuel their evil ways. Only one lone ninja could hear the muffled cries of VHS lovers left bereft of a video-tape sanctuary - their tears like tears of blood that could only be cured by ninja-based vengeance. Honor has a name - and that name is Silhouette.

Vance sighed a little, letting a little disappointment sink in before realizing he hadn't answered the question.

"Oh, ah... Ninjas attacked. Guys in black masks with laser guns. They blew up the Video Head store, I'm sure. And I think they might have taken Ms. Lights."

And they must have been after that basement-thing, for some reason! That car was kinda cool, and there were other gadgets down there too.

Vance caught himself almost looking in the direction of the basement. Wait! She could be a bad guy. Don't let her know about the basement yet until you know you can trust her.

It was time to break out a monstrous poker face. Good job, Vance. She'll never know you're hiding something!

She almost completely ignored the somewhat jumbled and irrelivant questioning that probably involved an entirely incorrect assumption and focused more on what came after. He seemed to know a good bit about what happened, or he was crazy, which in any other city in the world she might of accepted rather then the explanation that ninjas attacked a video store in the middle of the Fens. Plus the condition of the place supported his theory, well maybe not the ninja part, people can be armed and dressed in black without being ninjas, but this probably wasn't something like an armed robbery or maybe a random act of vandalism. The whole place was trashed, but it was systematically trashed with every single video having been removed from it's proper shelf and casing, whoever came here was looking for something. And more importantly, whoever this was, he was probably here when it happened.

She gave him another once over, as frightening his appearance the way he held himself simply didn't appear like he was much of a threat. He seemed anything but confident and didn't seem very comfortable in his own skin (given, that might just be because it was currently covered in thick hair). If she had to guess, she'd probably say that he'd never been in a real fight in his entire life. Glancing towards his face once more she caught a slight movement towards the hole she had looked at before. Taking this in account she pretended she didn't see the movement and began to pace around the store slowly before finding her way to the hole.

"What have we got here?"

She said this in all calmness as she kneeled down and peered into the darkness. She couldn't tell how deep it was, or how far down it went, picking up an empty case she tossed it in, and listened as it seemed to bounce then continue downward until it something, maybe a slope made by the cave in, then slid to a hault.

"Something managed to break through the foundation and cause a cave into a lower level, would you know anything about that?"

Link to comment

Creature Feature rubbed the back of his head. The Video Head was simply too trashed by the bad guys. Secrecy didn't matter anymore. What did matter was getting to the bottom of this attack and rescuing Ms. Lights before something bad could happen to her! And the basement was the best place to look for clues.

"There's a basement... cave-thing." Vance admitted. "It was a storage place for... weird things. Science things. There might be a clue down there, but it's probably pretty dangerous."

With the help of his enlarged strength, Vance cleared out the rubble around the opening, allowing for a much easier descent into the dark. Vance felt around his unadorned form, realizing he didn't bring any equipment with him.

"Nuts! I don't have my flashlight." Vance exclaimed out loud.

Link to comment

Well there was some sense in her mind, basement cave thing, plus storage of weird science things, plus dangerous probably equaled a base or lair of some sort. It sounded somewhat cliche in her own mind, but then again, everything else about his whole recount sounded the same, plus she reminded herself, this was Freedom City. Backing up, she watched quietly as he started to make the entrance more accomidating for a decent and noticed that despite his inexperience he was a very physically strong individual. She also watched quietly as he reached around his waist for some took he did not actually have.

Watching him start to talk, she let out a sigh,

"You know natural night vision is much more effient then using something like a flashlight which would just ruin it."

She walked next to him and also said,

"Plus, since you're some form of wolf thing, you'll probably fair better then normal."

She gave him a light pat on the shoulder before walking over and crouching backwards next to the hole. Sliding her legs backwards, she let them drop into the hole and supported herself by leaning on her upper body, then did the same while supporting holding herself up by her hands on the legs. She peered into the darkened space, it was probably just a little bigger then the store itself, and she could make out in the dim light from the hole a few yards that revealed one or two tables with various scattered devices on there tops on a darkened greyish floor that looked itself to be concrete. Directly under her was the missing cabinet, that was bent and distorted from it's fall, and not looking like terribly like something she'd like to land on. Swinging herself forward from her position, she made sure she had the right amount of moment then let go, doing a perfectly graceful flip that landed into a slight crouch to even out the momentum, and brought her down onto the concrete floor completely unscaved.

((Acrobatics throw, with a perfect twenty.))

Link to comment

Creature Feature fell down the hole too, although was not nearly as prudent at looking where he was leaping. Still, he avoided touching anything as he landed softly, his legs hardly making a noise on the concrete floor.

That did not stop him from breaking his own silence when, as Silhouette had suggested, his eyes naturally pierced through the dark, allowing him to see the entire basement in black and white.

"Whoa..." There had been very little light when he had first fallen down to the basement. His new senses revealed, in intricate detail, a veritable shrine of gizmos and gadgets. "Look at all that cool stuff!"

Creature Feature wandered in a little, looking about. There were definitely a great deal of odd devices here, with exception to where the TESLAmobile had been before its "liberation". Creature Feature folded his arms for a moment as he thought to himself. Even with the adrenaline rush caused by the attack, he distinctly remembered that the ninja-blaster guys had been down here too.

"Why didn't they take any of this stuff?" Vance mused, looking around again. Something he recognized finally caught his attention. An old-style generator from the 60's, like the ones they used in the old movies that would always get shorted out before the monster struck. Maybe there was no light because there was no power?

"Hang on! I think I see a generator. Maybe I can get the lights to work!" Vance walked over to the generator. While it was a simple enough machine, Vance wasn't very good at general electronics, and would probably take a little while.

Link to comment

She didn't proceed nearly as quickly, her steps limited as she took in the picture she could in the dim light. A heroes base, or a villians for that matter, it was always hard to tell really. It probably belonged to Ms. Lights, which wasn't a very large leap to make, it was right below her video store after all. It was very tidy and lacking of dust, which meant someone was cleaning and sweeping it regularly, which meant someone had to know about it, and the only someone who was even living on this block was Ms. Lights. It was a passing thought with a little bit of awe that the owner of her favorite video store was a retired super something (she hadn't decided whether Ms. Lights was a hero or villian, since honestly it could go either way).

Looking around she heard the light musings of CF and responded numbly,

"Probably because most of this stuff is absolutely ancient, the probability of even half of it working properly is rather slim. Anyway, what they were looking for probably wasn't very large."

Making her way, through it, she looking over a strangely shaped contraption that she couldn't determine a use for when she heard the creature yell out his intent, turning towards him, she nearly sprinted,

"Wait, it might be a...."

There was a light chirping from the old generator as it started to warm up. It only got louder as it began to spin and lights started to come on right as she got near the creatures back. She had to stop and blink away spots as her night vision was effectively ruined by the flicker of lights that flooded the lair and revealed it's form in intimate detail. After rubbing her eyes and making sure she could see clearly, she reached up her hand and promptly gave Creature Feature a smack on the back of the head.

"Are you daft? Who told you to go around touching anything, this place could of had traps or a security system wired into it?"

Link to comment

Creature Feature blinked hard as the lights turned on, the blinding darkvision turning off on its own after a few seconds.

"OW! Geeze!" Vance rubbed the back of his head as he was suddenly slapped. "I thought finding clues would be easier with light!"

One by one, the room's multiple displays lit up in a remarkably well-made showcase. Many showcases were devices of an electrical nature, while the others that were locked firmly behind much more secure containment units appeared to have more sinister applications. A number of these sinister applications contained the symbol of a black lightning bolt going through a gray circle.

"H-hey! That's the symbol those ninjas had on their chest!" Creature Feature pointed excitedly to one particularly large specimen of a sinister device, rotating behind a forcefield. The werewolf grinned a goofy grin as he discovered his first "clue" in the basement, thanks to the lights he restored with the generator.

"INTRUDER ALERT. SECURITY MEASURES ENGAGED"

Vance's ears drooped as an automated lady's voice announcement. Within moments, 4 automated turrets, filled with a chemical solution that glued to its targets, expanded, and hardened, appeared on the ceiling.

((Defense System - PL 7, Rank 7 Snare, Attack +7, Toughness +10, Defense Bonus -1 [stationary]))

Link to comment

Walking next to him, she examined the symbol on what he pointed out very carefully, taken in the details quickly she noted how she was going to remake it at home before she is able to call her contacts. She began to trace it in the air when she quickly heard the announcement, looking up at the turrets she gave Creature a shove as something shot at their feet before jumping herself,

"MOVE!"

The turrets shot out in rapid succession at them. After the first dive, Silhouette quickly got to their feet before running in multiple directions weaving through the shots with leaps and bounds. Diving under a table, she flattened herself against the adjacent wall and watched as the machine kept firing, hoping for a malfuction or more realistically, the darn thing running out of ammo.

Link to comment

Creature Feature fell behind the cover of a podium as the foamy chemicals sprayed across the room. He looked through the volley of sticky foam for any sign of Silhouette, but she was long gone by the time he looked.

"Silhouette? Are you okay?" The chemical turrets homed in on the noise, covering the podium further in goop, anchoring it in place.

That junk is gluing the podium to the floor. I probably won't be able to use it as a shield. Looks like I'll have to go with the direct approach.

Vance took a quick note where the next podium he could hide behind could be. After finding a decent goal to jump to, he leapt up, slashing at the turret with his claws.

With a jolt of electricity, half of the turret fell off, leaving the gun useless. With no other assailants visible, the three other guns pointed at Creature Feature, firing a volley of chemicals at him. While two of the guns were more than accurate enough to hit the fleeing werewolf, Creature Feature used his claws to scrape off the gunk onto the walls before hiding behind the podium, leaving only gunky residue.

Link to comment

Watching from her perch she saw maybe half of the scene, but with half the information, she noticed one thing as he moved, the guns focused on the loudest sound. Sliding behind the table she braced her hands against it's edge. This particular table was covered in parts in neat little bins. It was almost a pity, but maybe Ms. Lights could forgive her, if she's still around to get mad. Letting out a breath she prepared for the rather unpleasant experience to follow.

Pushing her hand's out, she regained her dimensions, the table pushed outward with her form and gave her additional momentum in which she gave it a heavy shove that gave the table a great screech that cleared it a few yards away from her and then promptly tipped over. While the screech brought the attention of the turrets to her direction, the bins of parts flew off and clattered off the table and making a larger clatter that received several blasts gluing down the parts in a permanent disarray.

Running back from the table she scoped a covered something, it was a rather strange looking thing under a sheet. It was a gamble, but took the so called leap of faith and stepped up to find a rather stable platform that brought her closer to the turrets who were still occupied with the clatter. Crouching down, she found that one of the turrets had decided the sound of her movement was much more interesting then the falling table. It took a shot at her, but she jumped over the goop before it hit, and sent herself flying towards the turret itself. She flattened her hand and held it close like a blade as she went over and used it to slash at the gun barrel. The barrel couldn't take the hit and was sliced clear off.

Link to comment

"I guess that's a resounding 'Yes'." Creature Feature muttered to no one in particular. Two turrets were down, and one of them was completely focused on the shadowy warrior. With a turret opposite remaining, he could probably kill two birds with one stone by destroying one and causing enough ruckus to make the other focus on him.

With a leap, Creature Feature grabbed on to the turret, clawing away at it. It sparked and fizzled as the outer layer got scratched up.

While he held on, he yelled loudly at the other turret, in an attempt to get its attention. "Hey Camera Face! You couldn't hit the broad side of a storm trooper, you panzy turret!"

Urgh. I sure hope it registers lame insults.

Yelling loudly enough, the turret turned and fired at Creature Feature. Its shot went wild, gooping up the other turret, trapping it in a thick foam that the turret could only make thicker.

"Yessss!" Creature Feature celebrated his highly improbable maneuver with a fist pump.

Link to comment

She was sort of just hanging there from the stump that remained of the turret she sliced in half when the other one found it's attention on her. She was about to jump down, found herself just looking on as creature jump out from wherever he was hiding and took out another one of the guns by getting it blasted by it's remaining comrad. It was a rather clever feet, but not one she thought deserved celebrating just yet since there still one left, and that one was just loading up another shot as creature began his little call. Jumping down, it still looked at creature, she yelled out,

"There's still one left."

It turned promptly on her, and started to fire. She sprinted away from the shots, and ran around knocking misillanious stuff off tables to keep the turrets attention on her while she did so.

Link to comment

"Right! I'm on it!"

Creature Feature dashed over to the other side of the room as the turret got distracted by Silhouette. I'll put everything I've got into this one!

With one mighty leap, Creature Feature raised up a claw, ready to strike.

The devastating attack cleaved right through the turret, dropping the machine from its resting place on the wall and completely shattering it. The remaining parts fizzled and sparked as the machine's components died.

Whoa... Creature Feature looked down at his claws in wide-eyed bewilderment. The werewolf form seemed powerful, certainly, but even Wolfguy wasn't able to claw through solid steel. He definitely had to figure out how to be careful around people, as he'd never want to hurt anyone.

Link to comment

Hearing the distint clunk of the falling and sizzling turret, Silhouette stopped to turn and see the scene. She also stopped and turn to see the lap now completely covered in strewed parts and the gonk that was shooting out of the cannons on almost every surface.

I really pity Ms. Lights when she comes back to this, if she's still alive that is.

Walking carefully around each goopy mess that was starting to harden she made her way over to Creature Feature's side and looked at him as he examined his claws.

"Okay, so we learned a valuable lesson today didn't we. If you drop into a random lair uninvited, find away to disable the security system, THEN turn on the lights."

Patting him on the back, she turned around and made her way back to the display case to get a look at the weapons inside. The case was half covered in the goop shot from the turrets, but you could still see the contents.

"Huh, these are probably trophies, or weapons confiscated from some past fights. We should probably call someone to come and gather these for safe keeping given we just knocked out the only security this place had."

Link to comment

"Right. Uh, I'm really, really sorry about that."

Creature Feature dropped his claws down to his side carefully, as he surveyed the devices, both in displays and in the goopy mess. He scratched his head lightly with a claw as he thought to himself.

"So... do we just... uh... call the police about this?" Creature Feature thought about the evidence room his dad showed him when he visited the police station. Sure, the dangerous evidence was locked up tight, but it didn't have chemical-spewing turrets for protection.

Creature Feature brightened as he had an idea. "Oh! Do you have a secret ninja base? Like, in the mountains or something? Maybe you could take the stuff and hide it!"

Link to comment

She felt like she wanted to do a full on face palm, but settled for lowering her head for a second and lightly pressing her index finger to it before letting out a long sigh. Turning to face the rather bright faced wolf creature, her tone had a sort of tired numbness quality to it.

"Alright, let me set the record straight. I am very sneaky, and I am also rather flexible and good at acrobatics. I wear a completely black outfit with no logos and a felt mask, but I am not a ninja. Ninja's aren't defined by such things, a ninja is a practioner of the art of Ninjitsu, a form of martial arts developed by peasants when they had their weapons taken away by using their tools and farming equipment instead. Ninjas as portrayed in movies are a very overly circulated steroetype that is rarely used by modern ninjas, because the point of their skills is to blend in, which in todays society requires more of a uniform of jeans and a concert t-shirt rather then an entirely black outfit."

Looking at the case, she started to dig into her pocket and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper from one of the pockets on the breast of her black biker suite.

"Do you have a phone, I myself don't have a secret base or hidden security where I live to watch this stuff while I'm away, but I know someone who does."
