  1. Rolling for concentration now. 1d20+12 = 14. ...hoo boy.
  2. I'll burn that point then. Rerolling, and we get... 1d20+9 = 10. ...er, when you said rolling 10 or less, does rolling a 1 still make me pretty much screwed?
  3. Ahh, right. Fair enough. I'm making my roll, but it looks like I won't be able to make the save against 32; the most I can hope for is 29. I get ten less than that, even. 1d20+9 = 19. Failed by thirteen...OUCH.
  4. I can't make my rolls at this very moment; I'm getting hounded to go to sleep. So I'll post comments/questions instead. Is this a purely defensive roll? Or do we also factor in toughness? Flatfooted, I have a defense roll of +4 (+8 normally), but I also have a forcefield that contributes to toughness saves. Just want to double check to make sure I'm not forgetting something that could help save my hide here. Also, would X-Ray vision track down the cloaked power suit? Slipstream's helmet comes equipped with one.
  5. Slipstream didn't want to give the suit a chance to recover. Once again, he leveled his blaster pistol at the metal giant and opened fire. He didn't check to see if this attack did as well as the previous, and just kept moving behind whatever could pass as "cover," even if it was just a bit of metal. He just hoped that the other two were fighting in better conditions than he was.
  6. Ouch! That's pretty harsh. Well, Slipstream's going to try and make another attack. Same song and dance as last time, Blast 10 against the suit (his options are a little limited admittedly). He's otherwise keeping on his toes and trying not to stay still as best as he can given how cramped things are. Though if he's near a hallway where he can turn the corner (and away from the prisoners), I want him to turn the corner and make the suit come after him. (Depending if he is near or not, I'll either edit the post I just made or leave it as is). (I did debate trying out his hologram generator (Illusion 3 Continuous), but I'll hold off on that for a bit I think).
  7. "Slipstream, be advised that prisoners are trying to break out of Blackstone at this time," the mission control operator at the other end of the connection said as Slipstream streaked towards the infamous prison. "Other heroes are converging to contain the riots. Your orders are to lend assistance, over." "This is Slipstream, I copy. ETA to Blackstone...two seconds ago. Out." It did not take very long for Slipstream to arrive, and as he oversaw the situation, he groaned. "Yikes. These guys're going for broke, aren't they?" As he approached from the skies, he noticed a familiar looking black figure, and willed his jetpack to slow down, timing it just so to hover next to Black Star. "Nice to see a familiar face here!" he hailed as he drew his blaster pistol and surveyed the scene up closer. "Big mess, huh?"
  8. Initiative! 1d20+5 = 21.
  9. Yikes. And I'll wait for your posts before I post Slip's next set of actions.
  10. Thanks again. And I posted my roll on the IC thread earlier. Slipstream attacked the powered armor suit with Blast 10, and if there's any cover to be had he's diving for it.
  11. Slipstream idly noted that the prisoners did indeed disperse while he wasn't looking, though they likely scattered all over the ship. Well, not my problem for now, he thought as he raised his blaster pistol and fired at the powered armor before diving behind whatever cover he could find. With how cramped the space was, this fight looked to make him feel like he was fighting as an infantryman rather than as the pilot he had trained to be. In some far corner of his mind, he deeply resented that fact. The rest of his mind just focused on trying to get through the fight; it'd be more than happy to complain about it after Slipstream wasn't getting shot at.
  12. Alright, got it. I'll post my roll (even though I"m not quite sure what I'm rolling against to beat)
  13. Before I make my post (and I really do apologize for asking about this), how do you determine the DC on the battlesuit (which is the one I'm assuming you're working with from the Instant Heroes book)? I just want to double check that I'm doing this right. I want to hit him with a Blast attack, so would that mean I'm rolling against a DC of 25? (I have both Blast 10 and Blast 5 Penetrating) I'm sorry for the questions holding up the thread.
  14. Slipstream cringed slightly as the missile blocked off their path of escape, but he motioned for the prisoners to get FAR back (as it was the option that involved not getting shot in the face, he hoped they'd see the wisdom behind it) and braced himself. "Fanboy says 'awesome!' fighting a powered armor, practicality says 'crap' about it instead," he grumbled as he made ready to fight and began to consider his options. "So what's your game? Why'd you all corral all these people in here?...and where'd you get the suit?"
  15. I'll just make a story thread post first while I wait for everyone's initiative (that, and I have to get to sleep yesterday). 1d20+5 = 21. The dice was kind to me here.
  16. I would've made the edit to my post earlier, but I was asleep when you were pointing this out. >_> I've made the changes.
  17. He nodded, and muttered something about "well some support past this'd be nice," but outwardly he shrugged it off. "Got it. C'mon, folks, with me. We'll get you to the deck, and we'll see about getting you outta this popsicle stand." He lead the captives towards the deck as best as he could remember (and failing that, he supposed he could always just blast his way out of the walls). He made a few wrong turns (including one to the ship's rec facility, though he quickly made sure not to linger too long around there), but he seemed to have some rough idea of where he was going. However, as he was the one with the force field, he made sure the prisoners remained a somewhat healthy distance behind him so he could absorb the first shots if something did happen.
  18. Slipstream quickly glanced at the assemblage of prisoners, but his stance stiffened as he seemed to identify someone. He then activated his radio. "HQ, Slipsteam here. Target has been ID'd, and is currently safe. Requesting extraction of all prisoners from my location, over." He then turned his attention back to the others. "Hopefully AEGIS'll have 'copters and/or ships to get these people out of here. And I'll take them up if you want, but shouldn't we at least make sure the coast is clear before we send these folks up? The last thing I want to see is us having rescued them only to have whoever arranged for this come swoop in and take them right back."
  19. Just to double check, but can I assume that whoever Slipstream was ordered by AEGIS to find was looking for is among the crowd? Again, just checking.
  20. I'd like to have Slipstream take on objective #2 or #4. He's more likely to be useful where there's plenty of air to fly around and zap people in.
  21. Slipstream's engines were idling again, though his pistol was kept at the ready at all times here; they might have taken out most of the threats, but he didn't want to get surprised anywhere. Still, walking in the cramped hallway of the lower decks did not suit too well with him; not enough room to really maneuver. Still, he made sure to step to the side as much as he could when Tank started to rip open the steel doors, which he also did note were more recently added than the rest of the rusting hulk of a ship; if shards of the door started to fly, he didn't want to be right there. "This is only getting weirder by the second," he grumbles. "We took out all of the flunkies, but where's the one in charge?"
  22. "You didn't miss out on TOO much," Slipstream assured him as he emerged from the lower decks. "Just that we blasted/maimed a few guys up here and the rest just started running for their lives." He jabbed a finger towards Lukos. "He did most of the heavy lifting, to be honest. I just fired one shot and dodged a bit." "As for finding anything out?" He shrugged. "Beats me."
  23. Slipstream landed next to Lukos after the carnage had subsided. "Man. You don't play by old-school hero rules, do you?" Noticing the other soldiers swimming desperately for their lives, he just shook his head. "Well, I'll radio about those guys in to the people who can do something about them. Eight paramilitary types dripping wet running from a wolf man? Shouldn't be too hard to find." Looking around, he said, "Wonder how the big guy's doing? Last I checked he crashed into the lower decks..."
  24. Ohhhhh. I didn't know about that. Thanks for clearing that up for me! (There'll be lots of moments like this)
  25. Slipstream had to force himself to NOT run after hearing the roar that Lukos let rip across the deck. CRIPES, he thought to himself. Not exactly something I was expecting to work with... With no small effort, he steeled his nerves and quickly surveyed the field. Inside, it looked like Tank had things well under control, and there were quite a few more soldiers above decks; Lukos looked like he could use a hand. His decision made, he punched the accelerator on the jetpack and flew above deck. Seeing one of the enemy soldiers hefting his assault rifle, he decided that that was one threat that needed to be dealt with and opened fire.
