  1. Mike had not been happy to recieve the e-mail from Coach Jones, he saw this as the kind of show-boating that could only lead to trouble. In fact he had been in the process of deleting it and trying to forget it when Alex had, lets say, gently reminded him that without knowing how strong he was they couldn't be sure thathis training would be safe. None the less Mike was less than thrilled at the prospect of spending the evening testing a wieght machine and his scowl was perhaps more dour than usual even as he slogged into the gym at the alloted time.

He offered quick what he intended to be comisserating smile to Erin as he entered and slumped to the floor next to her frowning at the text book. "Algebra huh?" He asked "Not a fan myself but I slogged through, you should do fine." He continued in his traditional self depricating manner.

  2. Ok the list so far is as follows.

    Jack Ferretti - snuck in

    Pompadour - Has a good agent :)

Grimalkin - Invited (given events of the SOE thread I'm guessing she'll get the invite in costume)

Emissary - Invite goes to the embassy of course.

Thunderstanding - Invite sent to her residence

Geckoman - guest of one of the Clairmont teachers, Wander too if she wants in?

Dark Star - Probably invited in costume while on patrol

    Phantom - Invited in costume

Scarab? - Either invited while patrolling or through Sophia Cruz whichever works better for you.

Vestige crashing the party? Or wanting back-up?

Gonna try and get this started this week if you have any specific ideas on how you want to be invited or don't like what I suggested above feel free to PM me about it.

  3. I'm interested, but confused as to the specifics.

How exactly does this work for heroes with secret identities? Are they invited in costume, and then expected to show up in costume? Are they expected to show up in their civilian IDs? If so, how do they get in without revealing their IDs to Ace?

As Doc said invites are to the heroes not the secret IDs, and the heroes are who are expected to show up. Ace isn't chasing down seceret ID's. I have various ideas for how he gets in touch with the assorted heroes and plan on tailoring the invite to each character to a degree. Those with seceret ID's will be approched in costume or via 'known contacts'.

As for numbers interest is high enough I'm don't feel the need to cap it. It'll be a mostly RP and social event anyway. mostly :)

  4. Well invites would be primarily to active Heroes or retirees. Now Clairemont is a special case though, It's likely that a couple of the teachers would get invites and they could have a student guest. It would be a good learning experience to meet active heroes after all.

  5. Ace Danger returns to Freedom and the family legacy of heroing. To celebrate his return he is holding a party for and in celebration of the city's many Heroes.

Of course this is precisely the kind of event that gate crashers and nefarious nogoodniks would like to interupt :)

Invatations vary from Hero to Hero. Heroes without secret IDs will recieve invatations by normal means (mail or courier) Those with secret Identities will generally be found while on patrol or after stopping some crime. If your interested we can work out the specifics.

Sound off if interested. I'm gonna be out of town for a few day but will get back to answer questions on monday.

  6. Alderwitch and I are heading out on vacation for awhile and our conectivity will be spotty to non-existant we'll be back late sunday and probably back to posting sometime monday.

  7. As wealth now gives a capped bonus to some interaction skills you would have to drop those skills (or charisma) down an appropriate nuber of ranks.

or you can not have wealth and buy some of hte trappings of it with equipment devoted to an HQ maybe a status benefit. But if you want to have cash on hand you can't cap your diplomacy/gather info on stats and skills alone kinda like the attractive feat.

  8. Mike let out the rare genuine smile Alex's nickname but wiped it off his face before she turned back around to rejoin the group. "So long Mrs. Albright," He said with a wave, "Tell my mom I'll be fine and not everything is processed in the cafeteria." He added with a quick grin.

As Alex's mom headed off he turned and looked at his companions "So we seem to have some time what next?" he Inquired as they started off back in the general direction of the dormatories.

  9. As the 'cop' faded from view Mike glanced aroudn nervously, when he heard Alexs message his search became more furtive as he tried to pick out those faces from the crowd.

"Yea, we'll have to keep an eye out." He said still looking around. 'ANY IDEA WHAT THEY DO?' He thought at Alex and began movign through the crowd towards their next destination.

  10. Mike only shrugged and mumbled a grudging "I suppose." in response to Erin before they shuffled off down the hall for Photos and fittings.

Mike quickly brushed his hair back from his face with his hand before the picture and managed a small smile on his otherwise disinterested face but it certainly captured his good side despite his lackluster attitude. After Alex fled the tailors stand mike stepped up and grudgingly stood to his full height and posed as prompted. He sighed heavily with each measurement, though the tape measure revealed a more impressive physique than his baggy cloths and withdrawn posture would indicate. Once finished he pulled his coat back on and slumped against the wall scowling through his bangs at the whole procedure. 'Uniforms, Seriously?' He thought 'Well at least I'll have something if Alex wants to go trick or treating again this year'

  11. Never having had much choice in his prior education Mike was at first a little overwhelmed by the selections available even in the limited summer session but had settled upon a few that had piqued his intrest. None of them likely to push the scholastic envelope but they seemed cool to him. That done he had retreated to scribbling in a composition book he used as a journal.

When Erin returned he closed the book and slid it back in his bag while Alex expounded on the joys of summer school. At Alexes comentary he shrugged and noted "I like making stuff, its relaxing." He left unsaid his thoughts on having to balance for his breaking of stuff. "Anyway," He quickly moved on to say, "I the summer schedual didn't look too full I figure we'll have some stuff together."

  12. Mike watched the strange young woman twirl and leave and shook his head in mild confusion, 'Well at least Alex won't be out of place. People seem friendly enough if a bit odd.' he thought to himself. He pushed off the wall gently and made his way into the hallway while the girls finished unpacking.

"Now the real fun starts, paperwork." He said as they finished up and joined him in the hall. He quickly checked to make sure his bag had any documents or other things he may need and once satisfied said "I'm all set lets get this over with."

  13. Mike patiently waited near the entry way as Alex took his share of her bags and set about her unpacking once freed from his burdens he claimed an unoccupied section of wall to lean against as he waited for the girls to go about their unpacking or investigating while staring absent mindedly out the window.

Distracted as he was he didn't take note of the new arrival until she spoke. Mike boggled at her unused as he was to such effusiveness from anyone not Alex. After giving the girls a chance to introduce themselves he waved an acknowledgement and introduced himself as well "Hi, I'm Mike. I'm rooming downstairs for the summer."

  14. Mike watched the exchange with slight confusion of the subtext. "Uh, I think I'm good with solo if they don't need to put someone in here I'm pretty used to my own space." He said as awkward re-entry into the convorsation. "I'm all done here." He said gesturing to the pile of bags, "I'll sort out the rest later."

He waited for everyone else to file out then followed takeing note of the surroundings and room number so as to not lose track of where he was staying. Then waited on Mrs. Harcourt to lead them to the girls room.

  15. Mike glanced around the room briefly before striding across the room to deposit his bags on the bed least likely to get morning sun in his opinion. That taken care of he checked out the dawers on the desk and doors on the wardrobe quickly and rather cursorily. "Is there like some check in thing I gotta do?" He asked as he began rumaging in his pile of bags.

After a moment he pulled a black backpack bedecked in buckles out of the mass and slung it over his shoulder. As Alex asked her question he looked to Mrs. Harcourt "Yea, should I expect a roomate soon?"

  16. Mike casually took in the decor with almost practiced disintrest, his eyes lingering a few moments longer on the assorted electronics. After all no matter how maladjusted he was still a teenage boy and the lure of video games and what not was a powerful one.

As Alex and Erin drifted off he leaned against a nearby wall and cooly observed the room from the fringe, rolling his eyes at Mrs. Albrights motherly concens. "Don't worry Mrs. Albright I'll be sure to call if Alex starts going to far out of control." he joked.

  17. Mike visibly calmed after the brief touch though he still eyed the displays of power with some discomfit. He tuned back into the conversation in time to hear about the rooms and looking to the girls almost cheerily, for Mike, said "See roommate fears allayed." He sent to alex in his usual almost mental yell "I certainly hope so its just been awhile since we've been around other kids and they don't look that supervised."

Tuneing back out of the convorsation as he does so and following the group in a vague fog as the guids point out landmarks along the way.

  18. Mike shrugged in response and followed the others into the quad. When ever he caught himself gawking at the open use of powers he quickly stifled it with a sullen frown. As the boy stretched across the yard towards them he masked his surprise about as well as he had with the other displays which is to say he didn't but made it clear he was trying too.

"Isn't it kinda risky?" Mike asked "I mean if people notice that the school is full of... people with powers, won't they be frightened?" He glanced around nervously before adding "And I mean some powers can be dangerous what if someone gets hurt?" Mike glanced to Alex for reassurance clearly upset by this prospect.

  19. Mike just nodded his silent assent and gathered the rest of the bags from the car before taking half of Alex's in the other hand. With the bags gathered he looked to Koyama and forced a smile and spoke "Lead on." He spared a glace after that to Alex to smugly give her the 'see I can play nice' look.

"I'm sure they can answer all of your questions Alex," he said with genuine amusement at his friends eagerness "But one at a time might help the rest of us keep up."

Though already burdened with the majority of the contents of the station wagons storage bay he turned a questioning glance to Erin "Need a hand with that?"
