  1. Players Name: Warr Power Level: 10 (158 pp) Unspent PP: 7 Characters Name: Warren McCue Alternate Identity: Leviathan Height: 5'10†Weight: 160 Ibls. Hair: Dark brown, with some reddish and golden brown strands which show in bright light. Eyes: Blue, the simple 'steel blue' with a darker, midnight blue color upon the edge of his irises. Description: Contrary to his height and weight, Warren is very rarely menacing, primarily because of his posture and way of carrying himself in normal situations. He rarely is startled or unsettled on most days, and is very inward, preferring to listen rather than speak, thus making him sort of a 'silent figure', as opposed to any real threat. His height and weight, combined with his moderate amount of exercise (he loves to swim, bike), make him limber, right on the edge of being just an average no muscle no real fat boy. His clothes change from day to day, and the only thing which doesn't, is his almost always worn slightly large dark blue hoodie. Despite the fact that he's socially an 'outsider' in most cases as of late, and he's not particularly menacing, he's still often noticed, a combination of his eyes, his almost 'mane' like hair, and his features being the cause. History: Nearly sixty years ago, the Western World was in full war, a world War, the second to have stained the face of the Earth. In this time, every side worried heavily about the other sides, and a number of experiments, many secret, occurred within these nations. One such experiment occurred within the United States of America, a plan to make 'supermarines', which were hybrids of Atlantian and Human genes. The experiment had a number of volunteers, all men who either were in the armed forces and stationed in the US, or whom were unable to join the services for one reason or another. The hybridization process was planned to happen via a cocktail of drugs, chemicals, and 'atlantian gene extract' taken from Atlantian DNA. The experiment was an utter failure, quite a few testees dying, and not a single one mutating. In fact, it seemed at the time not not a single person's genes had mutated, but one Daniel McCue, proved different. It was not visible at the time, but his body had taken the gene as its own, and with his son, the gene mutated. Not enough to produce powers or any effects, but the mutated gene passed on to his grandson as well, and finally, to his great-grandson, Warren McCue. The gene was not as the scientists who had extracted it expected it to be, it was not a hybridization gene which would make anyone injected with it an surface human-atlantian crossbreed. It simply targeted the areas of the human body which made Atlantians survive as they did, and changed them, but not without a proper trigger. Warren's life was fairly mundane, the boy showing a clear charisma even at an early age, as well as an interest in learning. He excelled at school, though he was never extremely popular from the fact his build and body type never fit the 'athletes' archetype. His mother was a housewife, and his father was a midlevel executive in a multinational corporation. As a result, Warren often got any books he might have wanted, and to do what he wanted. He wasn't spoiled, or without punishments, but his life (aside from being somewhat pushed around at school and at best 'slightly accepted',) was good. He even got to go on trips with his father, including ending up getting to visit Greece and ultimately, Japan, with his father. In the latter trip, he had already turned 17, and understood just as much Japanese as his father did, so while his father dealt with business and board meetings, he dealt with nothing so much as exploring. Inevitably, with the fact that he refused to go to 'classic' Japanese destinations within the city they were staying in, because he didn't want the typical Gaijin tourist treatment, Warren found himself on a fairly populated beach, ready for a day of fun in the sun, and to finally experience what the ocean felt like. (He lived in the middle of North Texas at the time, and had most of his life, so he didn't know what an actual -ocean- might feel like in comparison to a sea or gulf ) It was during his time relaxing there, giving smiles to a few pretty Japanese girls as he did, that a little girl, no more than six, was dunked under the water by a huge wave. Waves continued, and she struggled to get up, just as the lifeguards of the beach struggled to save her. But Warren was faster. As he heard the little girl's scream for help, his heart pumped, and something inside of him awakened. The gene, and as he wished for the water to move from around the little girl, it did, giving her a momentary relapse of air. His body shot into action even as his mind did, jumping into the waves shortly before the lifeguards did, and swimming at an inhuman speed, scooping the girl in his arms and swimming back with only his feet, placing her on the beach by the lifeguards, and fleeing the scene as he realized what he had done, hearing the screams of excitement and amazement from the beach goers. It took nearly every connection his father had to keep the videos of the scene of of Youtube, and in no time at all his son was sent back to America, and more importantly, a place to learn to use these powers. His father had accepted an offer for Warren to go to the Claremont Academy, and in exchange, help with covering up his son's secret identity. Complications: Sense of Duty- Protect the weak, and innocent. Chivalry- Despite the fact he's never really been gotten in many relationships in his time on the Earth, Warren has been since childhood enthralled with the concept of Chivalry, and tries to be as chivalrous as society allows (He'll hold a door open for a girl, but not go out of his way to do so, etc.) The one thing he will -not- do, is attack a woman., unless she is an absolute threat to his or other people's lives. In the end, his sense of duty super cedes this, though he may mope or 'hate himself' after words if he feels he attacked too fiercely. Secret Identity: Warren is driven to try to keep his identity as a 'super hero' hidden, the best he can. He's not sure he wants to be a hero, in the long run, so he's not willing to let his identity be known. Secret Identities

I'm Warr, a 19 year old from North Texas (DFW for those who don't know how we Texans describe our regions), who's currently a wageslave at Wal-mart. D: I've been an avid role player for nearly eight years, though it's been all but impossible, throughout my life, to find a group which is steady. I've read numerous role playing books in the time I've been a fan of role playing games, and tried in the same time to play online the following games (M&M, AD&D, Serenity, D&D 3rd edition, VtM, and a number of others, including Big Eyes, Small Mouth.) I'm an anime fan, and also a fan of Japanese culture, though that's not saying much as many nations give me a thrill to learn about the culture of. I'm an avid manga reader over watching Anime, and I've also read a lot of comic books in my childhood. My favorite superhero was never constant, but I've loved the X-men and the like pretty much consistently in my childhood. When I was little, I had a lot of nicknames, including one very odd seeming, my uncle Keith decided to start calling me 'Ironman.' *Spins around in my chair*
  3. I know it might seem a bit presumptuous, but I figured it'd be a good idea for everyone who has a hero who's attending the Claremont Academy, or -will- soon have one, to post in this thread with a link to their character's sheet, and maybe with a little discussion on the 'niche' they fill. It'll help us come up with role playing ideas, even if they're not the typical 'fight super villian' ones, even if they're just a day in the life of a super kid. List of Claremont Students/possible Students: Lucy (Lady Ionica) is only 16, so if Duncan Summers is willing to have her in Claremont, she could receive an invitation. But she's not starting out being there, I'd rather that it was something happening through the game. High Note is recently 15 and entering his second year at Claremont. He is the theater kid, obsessed with performing and his powers are sonic in nature. He fits the niche of questioning what he'll do with his powers as he gets older, and he feels a little put upon sometimes when he ends up playing the hero. Warren (Leviathan) is a 'transfer' into the school, 17, and only recently came across his powers. He's not really interested in the 'super hero' scene quite yet or sure he'll ever be, but he's quite willing to help those who are in need that're -directly- in front of him.
  4. I figured PL10 would make it funner, especially because I plan to play him as a 'hero who's yet to come to terms with himself or realize that he's got the will to be a hero/the power to be one.'
  5. I've got a character concept I'm trying to work on getting stated up, and with the fact that I've not -touched- the system in nearly half a year, if not a bit before that, and also with the fact that I've never got much experience with building characters even before that, I'm sort of at a 'k?' point. The concept is basically this: The character will be an 'engineered mutation', of sorts. The little 'mini-draft' history I came up with him was pretty much this; in World War II, the United States government participated in funding quite a few top secret experiments, and of course the classic 'Captain America' type experiments did take place, my character's great-grandfather will have been one of the people who took part in them. The people in his experiment group did not, however, get injected in a 'serum', they were instead injected with a chemical formula which was supposed to induce growth of an Atlantian gene which was injected along side it. The government was hoping to create 'super-marines' capable of making the US have an upper hand on its enemies in sea warfare, and also a defense against any of the sea kingdoms which existed. In almost every testee, the cocktail didn't take, and in some, it killed them. My character's great grandfather, however, did have his genes changed, ever so slightly. With each passing generation, the gene mutated slightly, until the current generation. My character's genes will have been 'waiting' for the mental trigger to force the change, and when traveling with his father to Japan for a business meeting his father had, the 'trigger' will have happened, in the middle of a well visited Japanese beach, in the plain sight of public. Someone will have needed help, and their call will have pushed the mental capacity of my character, making his 'inner hero', part of his brain kick in, giving what would normally just be a spurt of adrenaline, but instead, making my character's genetic activate and thus making him mutate. Though he seems 'normal' aside from being a gaijin (The Japanese word for 'visitor'), his hydrokinesis has 'activated', forcibly calming the waters around the beach, and his instincts force him into the waters, cutting through them like a hot knife through butter, until he gets to the person that needs to be saved, and drags them to safety. He's sent back to America as quickly as possible to keep him out of the news in Japan and keep his identity secret, because it was just lucky for him no one got a -good- glimpse of his face. His dad pulls what strings he can to make sure it -stays- that way (IE; random youtube videos of his son saving that person don't show up), and he's given the offer by the Clairemont Academy to attend there (The character'll probably be in his late teens, seventeen or so, likely.), and the father accepts the offer especially with the fact the Clairemont Academy says it'll try to help keep his son's identity 'quiet'. Powers wise, my original thought for an 'Failed Atlantian Hybrid Mutant Kid', were Hydrokinesis, Some added level of toughness, strength, and of course the immunities to breathing under water, etc. But I'm not sure on the specifics or even how to figure them out.

    Claremont Academy?

It'd also add a group of students to the set, so we can make some non-supering RP going, and even maybe start a 'superyouths', team.
  7. Warr

    Claremont Academy?

I knew it did, just making sure it was there. =P And thanks~
  8. Does it exist/will it exist/could it exist, Ie; have its own subforum and have students and such?
  9. I could see it going either way, in both cases. One character might have similar powers than another and take the name not realizing it was 'taken', and likewise, with surnames, surnames are surnames, not fate given things, and many people have so many relatives and people who don't share anywhere close relations to them but have the same surname.
