  1. Tony perks up abit when he hear's Joey triage of quesions and suggestions. There can be no doubt now that he is also a recent arrival to this existance. Nodding his head in agreement, Tony has all of the same questions in his head, same worries....same wants. Tony was about to ask Joey if they could join him at the table when the waitress appeared and asked if they wanted a menu. Suddenly, Tony's hunger was a thing alive, gnawing at him from inside...creating a load irratating grumble from his belly that could be heard by those near. While the sound is loud, it is the sudden darkening about the area that frightens everyone. Like a dimmer being turned on, the lights seem to dim for a few moments, before returning to normal luminosity. Another waitress walking nearby stage whispers to the one nxt to them "I told Herm that he need to get those power lines looked at....I am not working in the dark again!" "Yeah....I could use something to eat and drink. That is if you don't mind?" He asks Joey before he starts to order.
  2. "Whoa...whoa...sorry. I am sorry...I made a mistake..."Tony was quickly apologizing and backing up some. The young man's violent reaction was slightly unexpected...slightly. Man...came on a little strong there. Need to be a little less obtuse and a bit more direct. As Tony started to nod and turn, James quickly reversed his departing apology and asked the qusetion much better than Tony. Sliding back behind James, Tony let hims take the lead...maybe the man that found him will have a better delivery.

  5. "Excuse me...this may sound weird, but...do you find yourself a stranger in a strange place?" As Tony asks the seated man his unusual querry, he notices James slipping in the door. Watching for James to notice him, Tony motions James over with a slight nod of his head. " Let me rephrase that less crypticly...have you recently found yourself somewhere that it is impossible to be?" Tony shakes his head abit, this is harder than he expected. Tony waits for an answer or for James to catch up, whichever happened first.

  8. "OK...asking is easy. It is the answers I am worried about," with that Tony splits off from James...sliding trough the people to get some distance between him and James. As he moved through the boardwalk throng, Tony noticed that many did not seem to be paying him any attention, sometimes coming close to colliding with him. At first it was helpful...but the further he went, the more annoying it got. Didn't these people look where they were going? After three almost collisions in just ten feet, Tony decided that he needed to get out of this moving obstacle course. Sliding in the first door he finds, Tony is suddenly standing in a resturant, standing in a small waiting area with a sign saying "Please Wait to be Seated". Suddenly, Tony's stomach growls...who knew how long it has been since he ate. Dammit...not now. Wow...that smells great. Maybe I can get something to go. As Tony glances out among the seated people, looking for some sort of posted menu, he notices someone doing some sort of weird calistenics while sitting in his chair...Well, that certainly qualifies as being out of place...I wonder...with that thought, Tony brazenly walks towards the chair-bound swimmer, to hell with the sign.

  11. Tony nods at James' comments as he gets out of the car. Looking out along the boardwalk, Tony notices all of the people walking along it...finding someone here will be difficult. "So...we are looking for someone who might be acting strange in a place where anything we could possibly think of could happen? Yeah....that is going to be easy." Spreading apart from James a few feet, yet staying within conversation distance, Tony continues," Seriously James, Exactly how are we going to recognize this person? I mean, you finding me had to be luck." All the while, Tony scans the crowd to locate someone who seems "out of place".

  14. "Ummm...let me look again," Tony once again opens his wallet. Looking at his license closer, he notices that while the address is the same, the city is listed as Freedom City. "Yup...seems that I am. That means that I am replacing someone?" Folding the wallet once again, Tony replaces it in his back pocket. "So...we are from OUR dimension...right? And now we are in THIS dimension? Freedom City...The Freedom League...Super Heroes...with Super POWERS!" Tony's excitement could almost be felt, it was so intense. But as quickly as it crested, it seemed to crash. Suddenly Tony's face took on a dark cast...literally. The car suddenly seemed slightly darker, especially around the older Forum Member. The Shadows within the small car gathered around him in a swirl, his green eyes taking on a neon intensity... "But that means something is wrong...nothing like this happens without a reason. Right? I mean every comic book story is like this...ordinary people thrust into extraordinary situations?"

  17. As Tony listened to James, he took his advice and reached for his wallet. Pulling it out, Tony noticed that is was noticably thinner than usual...and that is was a different color. Tony stopped for a moment, holding the wallet like it was a dangerous animal. This, more than any of the other things, scared Tony. His life, or at least parts of his life were in this wallet. Slowly he opens the wallet... And finds that not everything has changed. Beathing a sigh of relief, Tony stares at the photo of his wife...their wedding picture...his daughter, bith as a baby and her current picture. His Grandparents...all of the pictures were right. Flipping back to the front, Tony looks at his Driver's License. It also was the right one. His past...his former self was still there. Only NOW was different. Looking over at James, Tony studies hims for a moment...then he hears the name Herid Fel. I know that name...Looking back forward, Tony chooses his next words carefully, " I know the name Herid Fel...Freedom City News....The Fan Site. James...I am Nightshyft. I post there also."

  20. "A comic book? Yeah...you could say it was something like that," answers Tony as he slides into the seat next to James. Looking over at the young man, Tony realizes that James seems a bit nervous himself. Like he was unsure of himself, a feeling that Tony could sympathize with greatly. Pulling the seat belt down and around himself, Tony collects his breath and and wits before proceeding," Look...less than an hour ago I was DRIVING in a snowstorm...during a whiteout. The next thing I know I wake up in an alley...here....without my car." Looking out the window of the car as it proceeds down the street, Tony cannot help but be a littled awed. None of this should be real. None of this exists in the real world...his world. For a moment, Tony is silent. "Seeing HIM rise out of the sidewalk...that...well, that isn't something even possible where I am from. HE isn't even real...James, I KNOW I am not where I started from," Tony chuckles for a moment, "Hell...that didn't come out right. James...I know this is not MY world anymore. And that means one of two things. One: I have gone crazy...broken from reality and I am living in my own fantasy world. OR, Two: The impossible DID happen. So...Tell me James...Am I crazy?"

  23. The surrealness of the situation was not lost on Tony. For the last thirty minutes he had been walking in a living nightmare. Lost and confused, he had jus picked a direction and started heading that way. Better to actually do something than wallow in self doubt. However, there was only just so much a person can take before he just looks at the sky and scream. And that is exactly what Tony does...a long and inarticulate scream vented at the top of his lungs aimed skyward. As his voice winds down, Tony notices a man running towards him. asks the man. Tony just stares at him for a moment, unsure how to answer, when he hears him mutter, and glances up, to where the stranger is looking...in time to see a blue speck move by at high speed...a human shaped speck. "No...can't be...Tony whispers himself, a sudden realization dawning up him. Before he can say another word, Tony witnesses something so startling that his eyes nearly pop from his head. Flowing up from the sidewalk, a being of concrete and glass forms. Dr. Metropolis has arrived in his peculiar and signature way. The stranger had his back to the arrival...but he turned at teh sound of the gravelly voice, . Both watch as Dr. Metropolis repairs the damages...picking up the streetlight and placing it back upright...the cracks in the glass mending themselves. Mumbling to himslef, getting louder with each syllable, "Freedom City....I am in Freedom City." Turning towards the young stranger Tony looks him in the eye, "I am In Freedom City?"Shaking his head, Tony thrusts a hand out to the young man, "My Name is Tony....Tony Peters. And I beleive that I am very...very lost."
