  1. Half of it seems to go Heavy's way. When he attempts to boost Tesla, the ornate looking cuffs holding her begin to glow and whir, and then nothing. The other half of the plan seems to go perfectly, however. Upon attempting to rush past it, the alien reaches out and grabs Kevin, "You're not going anywhere, human!" Once it's secured him, Kevin feels something peeking into his mind...

  2. I watched part of Peter Pan today. So cute. Anyway, it inspired me to look for an old-school avatar. :D

    Wendy Darling

Apparently the Meat Loaf album 'Bat out of Hell' was based on Peter Pan...

    ...nice avatar, btw.

  3. Valkyrie-2.jpg

Rose began to get her thoughts under control. She was hurt, and badly. She was fighting so hard against the pain, but now she let it wash over her. The deluge had been released, and by doing so it had lost some of it's power. Rose felt a little better, and inside, quietly, she hoped this would be the beginning of a turnaround. Now, if she could only stop seeing stars, 'oh, wait a minute...'

  4. Uh-oh - at this rate, the Priests are going to go first!

It's all up to you, Jack-of-Tales!

Oh, important point, Archeville is currently wounded, he's got a Bruise after his run-in with Dryad.

Ah! Thanks, Doc, muchly appreciated :)

And just for my information, Doc, is your move on your turn or just before combat?

  5. The blonde woman head flicks up, staring down the hall at the cacophany coming from the kitchen, "What is..." She turns her head to the small woman near the door, "Wallflower, check it out." The girl she was talking to merely looked back with a scared look on her face. The blonde woman shot her a steely glare before once again splitting two more off from herself and taking a few tentative steps toward the door, "If you want to get something done..."

Meanwhile the two blonde women in the kitchen with Ren break for the door, running back out to the restaurant. When they see the blonde woman, they stop, "We've got problems..."

  6. Ok dude, initiative time!

    Grue Metamorph #1: 14

The grue is 15 feet from you, standing behind a panel. Tesla is 10 feet to your right. You are standing in front of a large machine which has opened up to reveal a large space. Scattered throughout this room (which is very large - over 80 feet square) are various machines and devices.

  7. He's standing at the threshold as he asks the question, looking for some way out of this mess.

It's times like these that one might say, 'be careful what you wish for'. At that moment, from a large cabinet to Kevin's right, Tesla Atom falls to the floor. She's bound by some kind of techno device around her wrists, gagged and has an incredible amount of fear in her eyes as she looks up at Kevin. It takes a moment for Kevin to register what's going on, but he looks back up to the woman who had been leading him through the Atom headquaters to see 'her' reverting to it's true form - that of a Grue Metamorph! It speaks in perfect english, "Be all the frightened you want to be now, human, because soon you won't have the chance!" The door to the labshuts completely, a red light above it switches to red. It seems that the only way out of here is through the alien...

  8. Cadence's eyes shift from place to place, "Oh, uh, we... well, it's a funny story actually, you see, she, uh..." With that, there was a knock at the door. Cadence jumped a little, as if startled, "Oh! Um, if you'll excuse me for a minute." She walked out of the room, leaving the good Captain alone with his thoughts.

For a time it's quiet. Cadence can be heard opening the door, followed by the sound of muffled dialogue. After a few moments, however, the voices don't become so muffled and Captain Wonder hears a familiar voice, "Pleez! I muzt zee her!" Before he can react, Cadence is seen through the kitchen door walking backwards down the hall, keeping her eyes toward the front door, "Look, Mr. Rainheart, or whatever you said. I told you, Valkyrie doesn't live here - I don't know what you're talking about!" The man will not be placated, he walks forward, framing himself in the kitchen door. Captain Wonder recognises him straight away, even though the black uniform he used to wear has been replaced by ratty, modern day garb. The man sees Captain Wonder at the same time the all-American hero sees him. "You!" He screams, suddenly angry, "You are somezing I do remember!" Something Captain Wonder remembers is the large hammer the the man is weilding. That hammer once belonged, as it seems is the case once again, to Donar, the Nazi lord of thunder!

  9. Ok, that's a perception range, DC 20 Nauseate effect (requiring a Will save instead of a Fort save).

If you want to think of any particular horrors that Heavy might see besides the bleeding walls, feel free to add them in :)

  10. Heavy feels something give way when he hits the beastie this time. Still, the thing is standing strong and just as scary as ever. Looking around Heavy sees a number of things. Below him is the gurney that Kirk was supposed to be strapped to right about now. There is also a couple of heavy looking pieces of equipment near the bed - medical monotoring devices or something? He sees something else too - something disturbing. The room has begun to bleed. The very ground and walls have begun to peel away leaving scabby, rotten flesh behind. Looking back at the Demon, the creatures grotesque head seems suddenly as if it's only meters away and straight through Heavy's helm and into his soul, smiling with such evil intent. A voice, now nothing even resembling human, echoes through Heavy's mind, "Leave. Leave the man and keep your life. Stay. Stay and bear the divine sorrow of pain for eternity."

Kirk, the man in question, is unmmoving. It's entirely possible he's passed out from the shock. That's the hope, at least.

  11. Valkyrie-2.jpg

“Hey, how you managing?†The teen speedster asked the other heroine.

Valkyrie scrunched up her face without taking here eyes off the nearest Spiderbot, "I've been better." It was obvious she was happy that Velocity was there. "These things are tough nuts to crack. Still, we'll be feasting on almont or walnut or whatever the heck these guys taste like before long. How about you? How are you going?" Throughout the whole exchange, Valkyrie glanced up at Velocity once - she wasn't going to let this thing attack her unawares, or get away for that matter.

  12. Ok all involved, let's get a'goin'! Initiative please...

    Tech Priests: 11

And just before we begin, did either Archeville or Kizzy use any HP's in the last thread? (I haven't read it all yet). In an attempt to balance things a little and because we're on the big bronze war-machine's home turf, the Legionnaire will begin the thread with 3 HP's (his normal 1 plus 2 more), and he'll find them easier to earn over the adventure. I've jacked up the power of the villains a little to cope with the new entries.

Let me know if your character icon doesn't properly represent your character and I can change it :)

In the meantime, let's get ready to rumbaaaaaaaal!

  13. Well, you might kid, but consider this: Between you, Barnum, and Heridfel, you account for over one third of the posts on the board. Think on that for a minute.

Though both those two far outnumber me. I like to keep a healthy post count to maintain status on the board, but not to the point that I can't shrug it off to friends who don't appreciated the internet like I do (Eg: Friend says, "Woah! Is that how many posts you've made?", to which I reply, "Please, wigga, check out the post count on Ariel, or metal head there. Peace.")*

    ;)

Yeah, but most of my posts are just meaningless spam anyway. You know . . . like this one. ;)

Everyone loves spam! Just read the above...

(*I actually love everyone here and don't really talk down people on the board to friends on the outside. Quite the opposite, actually. :P)

  14. Or . . . we could send Droplet off to find her parents while we press on with whatever we end up doing. Then, if she returns, we can meet back up. If not, we can look for another base or something. I've got tons of unused PPs, I could spend on equipment.

For now, lets just put Droplet on "autopilot" until we reach a good point to write her out of this thread.

Sounds great! Let's do this! :)

  15. I'd like to join up but just checking to make sure it's cool with nareik first.

Also, I love the use of imagery. I always try to find/make designs for foes but it never seems to turn out well. I'd love to use COH's design but it looks like the download link is no longer operable. I remember trying to dl it a few months ago also. Le sigh.

    Dang, that's a shame :(

Great, when everyone is ready we'll get this party-a-rockin'!

  16. The two blonde women who were standing next to Ren reach out and try to catch him, but he's too fast. The main blonde woman screams at them, "Get him!" They sprint after him, entering the kitchen just after he does and having a much easier time of it.

Before he can stand, Ren has a shadow cast over him. He looks up to see a young, Japanese girl standing over him. She points an odd looking stick at him, "Causing trouble, are we?" She tsk, tsks, a malicious smile spreading across her face, before striking him with the stick.

Back out in the restaurant, there's a loud crash from the bathroom, causing the blonde woman to look up, "Seems like out Leaguer is back where it all began..."

  17. I'm glad you like it :)

The Roman soldier I just took from the web, but the characters I made in the City of Heroes stand alone character creator, which I downloaded from here, over at the ATT.

Anyone else from the "A New Day, A New Way" thread is welcome to join, just post in here first :)

Nareik, this is your show, I live but to serve... and eat cookies.

  18. Ok, initial posts are up!

    IC here, and OOC here.

    Enjoy!

Since it looks like things may be headed this way (as seen in "A New Day, A New Way"), would you be adverse to Archeville tagging along?

I'm not adverse to this (and it can be accomodated with a little tweaking in the first post) It's completely up to you, N. :) Want a partner or want to fly solo on this one?
