  1. Kirk seems unaffected by the black terror. It washes over his unnmoving body seemingly harmlessly. It's the body the demon wants, afterall, perhaps it's keeping it safe.

  2. Oh, and I've posted a move, so there's no need to hold on my account ;)

No problems, but there is currently total concealment for everyone in the room. I've rolled his check, he got a 12, so you'll be able to snatch it, but you need to make sure you hit him first ;) I was going to roll the d20 for you, but thought that might not be kosher.

(And that bruise you got from Dryad would be well and healed by now :))

  3. Where do you guys want to go from here? I'm up for anything (as long as its slow. :( ).

Hmm, good question. Perhaps the circus folk have tracked us somehow? Ninja acrobats! Or a new mission? Missing friend? Maybe we need to find a base?

Dale had been sitting alone, knees up to his chest. He didn't move when the others 'popped in', but when his sister tried to comfort him, he turned and hugged her.

A few moments later he was back on his feet, a little less energetic but more-or-less his old self.

  5. Luck Control springs to mind.

Yeah! And maybe even Trouble Seeker from UP?

Also, instead of straight damage, how about things like Confusion? Perhaps, if you had an array, you could have the Unreliable drawback, activiting a different power at random from it?

  6. Ok, I've updated the map for the Doc's move before combat started. I also added reference points so that it's easier to communicate. JoT, you mean that Kizzy will move to F6, right?

When the Doc gets back (another congratulations to him, by the way - I hope he's having a blast! :D), we can continue. In the meantime, here's something I should have stated earlier; we'll be keeping all OOC interaction in this thread. That includes rolls and OOC comments, including map references. I just find that this keeps things a little cleaner... that and I'm a pedantic guy ;)

To paste rolls into your IC post, please use Option C of the following:

How to Roll the Dice and Post Your Dice Rolls:

    5. Post your roll: Once you click "Roll the Dice," Invisible Castle will show you a results page, including a link to your roll. Make sure you use the URL that is displayed on that page, and not the URL shown in the navigation bar of your browser window. Once you have that URL, there are several options. If your thread has a Ref involved, make sure you check with him/her to see if he/she has a preference. The three options:

    A. Post the link in the OOC thread of your story/campaign/duel.

    B. Include the link as an OOC comment at the bottom of your IC thread.

    C. Include the link in your IC post with the [ URL] BBCode. Example:

The code for the last sentence in the above example looks like this:

They [url=http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1352299]struck[/url] the flying hero and began trying to entangle his limbs.

    DiceRoll.jpg

You can get that code by clicking on the text circled in red. When you paste it into your post (say that ten times fast ;)), just replace the text underlined in green to mesh it in with your text. It's something I only learnt here as well :)

I've removed all OOC references in the IC thread, not because I was annoyed or anything, just because I was bored and had time. Besides, they're my hard guidelines, no point you guys having to go back for my pedantic-ness... yes, that is a word.

  7. Valkyrie-2.jpg

Oh boy, are you gonna get it. Rose was floating toward the robot. This whole encounter wasn't exactly going as planned, but she was about to give this robot what for. I've seen Terminator - good guys win, you end up as scrap. She raises her hands up high, ready to bring them down on the metallic menace. This is for John Connor! Before she gets a chance to bring her powerful hands to bear however, the bot fires, striking the hero square. Somewhere down on Earth, Rose Lovell still in her coma, screamed out in pain. At that same moment, the space suit that Valkyrie was wearing was empty, but after a few moments, she returned to it, unmoving.

“This is Velocity, I found the robot toy assembly line. There are tons of these things, and they are being teleported away as soon as they are done.â€Â

Rose heard Thevshi through her commlink, "Oh, uh..." she couldn't think of a reply at that moment, her head still spinning. Before she had a chance to think of a suitable response she heard the Emissary's voice,

"Go for the damaged one vigorously and I think we can end this!"

Go. Vigorous. End. I can do that. "Roger, dodger." Rose begins to fly toward to the battered robot. She looks like Captain Thunder might, if he was a little intoxicated...

  9. "Oy!... who are you? Vhat do you vant, und vhere is zhis man's friend, Valencia?"

The first Tech Priest takes a step forward, "That's enough talk." He turns to his ally, "Capture them now, debug them later." He turns back to the group, specifically at the good Doctor. In one, smooth movement he flips his staff around numerous times, as if building momentum with it. The ends of the staff begin to glow crackle and hum before, with a sound effect the folks at any Sci Fi convention would applaud, the Priest suddenly stops it, releasing a bolt of electrical energy which strikes the German Genius. The second Priest spins his staff around his body as he turns and fires the same electricity. This one flies forward with the same release of energy, hum and zap, but finds the Legionnaire as it's target.

  10. Still waiting on Jack of Tales to post an initiative, but I remember them saying that they'll be bsuy. In the interest of starting, we'll get going. JoT, just post an initiative when you're ready, if it's higher that where we're at, we'll have you in on that initiative next round. :)

  11. Ok, I'll tell you what's wrong here, and then you can put it back into the thread however you like.

For starters, Donar hasn't aged. Sure, he was super human, but surely he must have at least aged a little? He looks as young as he did back in the day. Second, he hasn't exhibited any powers yet. Donar was very proud of his heritage and delighted in expressing that pride in impressive light shows when confronting his enemies. Lastly, that hammer he's holding - it's wrong. It looks the part, but it's almost certainly not the hammer that Captain Wonder must have surely come into contact with on more than one occasion.

All of that said, there's something in this Donar's eyes that say that the man himself is sincere.

  12. In re: the latest series of events

I just shouted "Oh SNAP!" aloud. I just thought you'd like to know.

I'm glad you like the turn of events :D

Now, no initiative rolls yet, unless you want them. Give me a wisdom roll to see if the good Captain can pinpoint exactly what's wrong with the scene.

  13. "Don't you mention zair namez, zey..." he faulters, but quickly reaffirms himself, "Even now, in zis time, you zeek to thwart us. Me. Vell no more." He lifts his hammer before him, his face is desperate and agressive, but there is something wrong here. Something about the whole scene that's just a little off. In any case, the German lurches forward - it seems he's more than willing to push through Captain Wonder to get to Cadence...

  14. Nah. If you had her explode like a drummer from Spinal Tap, that would be the worst write out ever (until I think of something worse).

Don't forget Poochie's unlikely exit from 'Itcy and Scratchy'!

  15. I'm a little sorry that that attack didn't do more than another bruise. How come I roll well for my villains, but my PC's are getting knocked around the four corners of space? *sigh*

Anyways, I was going to try something here, and you have the choice. The attack I've statted is a cone attack, but instead of the Reflex save, I've used a Will save, and instead of a Toughness save I've used a Fort save. The DC is 23.

If you're uncomfortable with that, I'm happy to use the normal toughness and reflex saves, no problem.

  16. The attack does indeed made the room shudder; the crack from the blow echoes around the chamber, and for a moment after everything is quiet. The beast doesn't go down however, it rides the blow to the side before straightening up - it lookes like this might go for the full ten rounds. "Your choice is made." The beast pulls it's head backwards, it's gaping mouth stretching ridiculously and unnervingly wide. It's at this point that Heavy notices, or thinks he does, a rather strange phenomenon. Yhe beast blinks momentarily, as if it disappeared and reappeared in the blink of an eye. If this was the case, it seems that the beast didn't realise, and it continues with it's attack. It spews a large cone of black, seething energy from it's mouth which envelopes Heavy. From inside the inky blackness Heavy hears the scremaing of a thousand souls, and they seem to want to tear at his body.
