  1. "¿Qué dijiste perro bastardo?" (What did you say bastard dog?) Carmen growled. It was more like a hiss if anything as anger began to well up inside her, slowly building as it looked like she was about to pounce at him wild and dangerously. At Claremont she was already in some counseling to deal with the more feral side of her mind, the one that could lash out with ferocity. Being called a catgirl began to rile her up more than one would have thought, maybe due to the natural rivalry ingrained in cat and dogs.

She pushed forward, tail focused straight and her claws out, "Say it again!" Carmen spoke. Gone was Puerto Rican young woman and returned was La Puma Negra, out now on the prowl and ready to defend herself.

  2. Carmen smiled, "In my dorm I do the same thing. It makes me feel comfortable," she spoke before her senses picked something up. A dog. Did Patriot own some sort of dog? She didn't have issues with dogs, far from afraid of them as one would expect of the typical cats and dog style relationship. Something was wrong here however as things went into high gear rather quickly in the blink of an eye.

She was pushed back by her mentor, bringing her pistol to bare at the elevator door, revealing what looked like some sort of wolfman, standing before both of them much to their surprise. It immediately drove her senses into overdrive, growling with her claws out as she looked like she was about ready to pounce at this strange creature not too unlike herself. It still put her highly on guard, staying behind Patriot, hissing at this stranger. Smelling him was like a bad candle store, near making her sick initially as she wasn't used to the strong scent.

"Wa?" she spoke confused as she let down her guard, not sure what to do suddenly as this wolf creature back down, cursing his luck and backing off, "Who is this?!"

  3. Puma took the copy of the autobiography of one of the founding fathers of the United States in her hands when offered before watching as the secret shelf revealed it to be a hidden door on top of serving itself as a bookshelf. She'd inspect it, reading off the English on the back cover.  Now she was getting into the meat and potatoes of what she assumed the heroic lifestyle and career of what Patriot did. So, when offered to see more than just the typical government office building, the young heroine almost leapt at the idea of something that seemed rather exciting, making her way with the book in hand.

"¡Vamos!" she spoke, holding the book to her chest as she was first into the secret elevator, "I can't wait to see Patriot."

  4. Carmen listened to the older heroine as she slowly paced around the room, looking around it to investigate more. There had to be something of the current Patriot's stuff here, but there wasn't much at all in this. All the elusiveness that the Patriot was giving off was confusing her but being a government agent likely meant that there was a good reason for this to be. From what she had seen, having to deal with such grave near godly threats was enough to a secret for anybody. Carmen also suspected that the previous Patriot must have had his own secrets as well, listening about the time with Simmons when he was under the mask.

La Puma's head quickly turned on a swivel rather quickly, her senses kicking in quickly as she looks over to the flashing light, catching the light as it shown on both of desks, "Assuming that just means someone is calling... or is it time for you to go to work?" she spoke, watching Daisy run out to likely answer the call of whatever it was, putting a hand to her hip, "So you got a secret room, all to yourself or something?"

  5.

"Well... I don't really know. My guess would be that you don't really get to use it much or well... maybe you want to be your own person. I get the whole legacy thing, but I'm not sure really if that's what you're asking," Puma responds back to her after inspecting the room. Daisy's perfume was obviously screwing with her senses, but now slightly away from her, it was far easier to concentrate on what she actually needed to look around for. To her, it was just another boring office, this time with far fewer personal affects littered around, not to mention none of the interesting photographs of heroes that came before them.

She'd respond with a question, noticing the best she could see the look that Patriot seemed to give, "How was the Patriot before you, what were they like?"

  6. 2020 wasn't that long ago in terms of how long ago that was. At that time, she was still sulking around back home in Puerto Rico, watching the heroic world from the periphery. Now she was in it, dead center in the superhero world, and far from her native home, "Sounds like it was pretty rough setting back up I bet before he found you," she'd respond, following her straight to her office. It was a hunch that it was the former Patriot's own office, given the names, wondering if that ever got confusing for people to remember. Having been rushed through a few of her classes to be caught up with other students, Carmen's hero history was still a bit rough, and while she couldn't get the names of most of those pictures, the young heroine could still identify the heroic identities of each one.

Even looking down at the desk, filled with a strong smell of Patriot's preferred perfume that invaded her senses, she could identify Psyche and Phalax, famous heroes of Freedom City. She assumed they were close friends, as every other photo seemed to be of major heroes and heroines, especially those that were of the predominantly patriotic kind. So, hearing a question asking about what she thought of the decor wasn't too much of a challenge for her. Then again, Carmen wasn't much for artistic, her own artistic pursuits being rather tame and or drab in comparison.

"I guess it's fine. Makes you think a lot about your history, who you are."

  7. "Is that so huh?" Carmen spoke as she for the most part quietly followed Patriot and Daisy around the office from the parking garage to the building proper. Unlike the ride out to the woods, here it was more like a typical school field trip and the young catwoman was quickly growing bored. She'd only speak briefly to Felipe, giving only a small greeting, turned off from speaking further due to the strong smell of cigarettes, another smell she seemed to dislike.

At this point in her life, she didn't really mind the odd looks. Carmen had slowly grown used to them over time, but it was the crowds that was of distaste to her, where she felt out of place, "I guess we can see your office if you don't mind?" fidgeting a little before looking around the empty office building. Since it was clear that it was a Gov't building, she could only assume that the mention of the Vice-President only showed how high Patriot was, but she didn't really recognize them name of Sovereign Citizen or this AEGIS. In the back of her mind, it felt more like what she had heard was more like an employment pitch.

"How long have you been working here?"

  8. La Puma Negra

Carmen didn't really like the humid heat of the Summer night as the two rode through the rather quiet streets of Freedom City. Even for such a busy city, the Federal Building seemed to not have too much activity as they pulled into the parking garage. Having been told to dress up in costume, or for her at least, something that meant she could do work in at least, which meant the use of a modified school gymnastics, sporting the blue and yellow of Claremont. The only difference was a dark greyish belt at her waist. It may not have had anything in it at the moment besides her cellphone and a little bit of money, but she had plans to add far more uses for it in the future.

Like a lost kitten, the young heroine would follow Patriot into the Gov't building, stretching out a little bit from the ride. It was only her second time on one and she still wasn't rather used to it. In fact, she wasn't used to Freedom City at all, especially as she cringed at the smell of strong perfume, enough to daze her if not just for a second, shaking her head in a nod to greet Daisy. Daisy's youth was somewhat of a surprise, but with how strong it was, it was as if she was compensating for something.

"So, you like, work for the government or something?"  Carmen asked, inspecting around herself, "Like a secret agent type?"

  9. Carmen's face cringed as she heard the pervert line but sighed as she pushed herself back up to sit up properly. She was calming herself down, getting off the high of emotions that she had been feeling for the past several minutes, tail shifting back and forth to and fro.  The young woman had been listening to her quasi mentor, thinking over where she was, "It's not home, but it's the best I can do with what I have. Maybe I can go home one day, but not now, not for a long while I think, at least until I figure things out, what my powers are and all. This city is home for now."

"I don't think I ever wanted to be a hero I guess, but whatever I am, what thing I am, I suppose that this is as good a place to start," she responds back, brushing back the curly long black hair off her shoulders.

  10. Carmen eyes widened as Quirk came towards her to pick up the baby. Of course, she didn't realize that, closing her eyes as her relatively short life flashed before her. It was then suddenly that it came not to be. The baby had been taken out of her embrace and into this apparent god-like being. The peak at his face only did far more to confuse her as she didn't what entirely that she was watching. One of the noises he made, ones that she had never heard of, made her ear tingle as it shocked through her senses, causing her to flinch. Then, suddenly within a blink of an eye, both of them were gone.

It was a moment of quiet before she plopped back down to the ground, laying our sprawled on her back, "Oh Dios mío, gracias (O my God, thank you)," Puma pleads out near breathless as she closed her eyes again for a while. She was mentally exhausted, unsure of what sort of ordeal that she had just gone through. She'd look over towards Ahsley, "Was this all part of the trip or were we just that unlucky?"

  11. La Puma Negra (Carmen)

Carmen would giggle again as he winked at her, looking over in the general direction of the pool as he did. It was at the point she realized that maybe she wasn't the only one far away from home, or maybe lacking one in general, "Yes, I am from Puerto Rico. The school invited me... or well sponsored me to come here. I lived in an orphanage on the east side, so the church sends me a small stipend to live here a little more comfortably."

"But really, I'm here to find some sort of purpose. I think that is helping people, or at least trying to do so, " she turned her head to face Felix. Yellow eyes, eyes that seemed so close to a human, yet cat like in nature, stared at him inquisitively. There was a feeling, a thought, that maybe something wasn't right with him. That there was far more than what was let on about the upperclassmen. She could quite wrap her mind around it. His accent, foreign to her, but near everyone's accent was different from what she was accustomed to, in a language that was really only her second so to speak.

"Why are you here at Claremont?"

  12. "Eso es asqueroso" (That is gross)," Puma responds before suddenly falling on her behind with a swaddled small child on her lap, the child that this Quirk individual was the father of now grabbing at her waist. She seemed to now enjoy being so close to her, after all, thinking she was nothing more than the largest kitty that she had ever seen. If it wasn't for the life-or-death situation that they were currently in Puma would have happily for once let her general appearance be a positive and play with child. Of course, that wasn't something that was very tempting at the moment as Qurik seemed to intensify his anger for Patriot.

She could feel the toddler grow scared from her father's rage, holding her close as a way of comforting them the best that she could possibly, "It's alright, it's going to be ok," she calmly spoke to them. Carmen looked towards the godlike being with an angered look, "Can't you see, you're scaring her!"

  13. La Puma Negra (Carmen)

"Not really. Most of the time I stay around the school, but some weekends I get to stay with a local church and help around," she'd respond back, putting down her magazine upon her lap. Carmen would look over towards the pool, seeing Neko fall in only to be saved in the arms of Leon. A bit of relief on her part, even if she didn't like Neko. It seemed like everyone was having already plenty of fun in the water, all the while she stayed away, sitting and resting in the sun alone with Felix, "My name is Carmen, I just started late into the spring term so I'm still kind of new."

Carmen gave him the look over, noticing how honestly good looking he was, turning away back to the pool before after looking over his strange blonde and black locks of hair, "I'm not from around here so everything is different. It's not like Puerto Rico," pulling back her legs as she puts the magazine on a spare chair next to her. Her tail swished from underneath her, arms wrapping around her legs.

  14. Even if it was all under duress and Neko would have a field day if she ever saw this, Puma made sure the small baby child continued to happily keep them infatuated with her. To an extent, she really didn't mind it all that much. She liked kids, even if she didn't like being called a cat, Puma at least could put up the charade just for a bit while they deal with a way of dealing with the baby's father, one that from her understanding could very well snap her out of existence if they really wanted to. So, going on with it she would do her best to try and give Patriot whatever time she needed in order to figure out what to do. So, when Patriot did begin to speak, it puzzled her somewhat as to what she was trying to do.

"Wait... no, I don't think I have. I knew folk liked weird stuff but that sounds rude," she spoke as she stopped for a few moments. She wasn't sure what Patriot was going for with this, but she'd try to follow along with the bit the best that she could, even if she didn't fully understand the end goal, "I guess it's good I'm not as well-known, I guess? Wait, what about a cat girl?"

  15. "Yes yes, ¡miau!," spoke Puma as she was deeply terrified at the power that this Quirk possessed and was able to do. It wasn't natural that sort of power, a god-like power to change seemingly reality it his own will. To have such power she could only think that he was some sort of Devil, a demon here to test their faith and devotion. To lower herself to such a standard, to bring low her own self-respect for herself all to appease the cruel machination of such a being and their young child's will.

She'd bring her hands before her, "See... see... just like kitty, un gato, ¡miau!" she spoke once again before looking over towards Patriot. She didn't really know what to do here as for her she didn't really know Roman much other than he was a bad guy, one that had hurt so many throughout the years. From how it sounded, Quirk was telling them that they could easily take out this dangerous criminal and save countless of lives. Yet something didn't sit well with her. She didn't trust any sort of devil to keep his word.

  16. Carmen behind the view of her magazine could see a rather similar view of Leon and Luke's bodies on display in the glistening pool. She'd have happily gone in, to take them up on the offer, but hesitated in getting up to join them. Whomever was in charge of the property in the absence of the owner surely did keep some care of the place, and she can appreciate that the pool wasn't some grotesque green sludge of mosquitos and other messy debris. At least for her and the enjoyment of others, she got a decent view.

She was distracted so much from said view that she didn't see the upper classmen approach her, even with super senses she didn't even notice him until he was in front of her and speaking, "O' no I'm fine. I just don't want to go in the pool just right now... you're Felix right. I don't think we've ever really talked before. You don't have to move for me, I can talk."

  17. Carmen wasn't one to get into the water first, deciding it was best that she find a new reclining seat and lay back. It was high time that she enjoyed herself a little bit. Little to no schoolwork, having only just begun at Claremont, and with the summer sun in the air she was already out of class. It was only natural that she lay back and enjoy, more like a lizard on a hot rock if anything, taking out a refreshing fruity soda drink she had picked up from one of the Hispanic markets, the same kind she would get back on the island. A quick use of a bottle opener and she was relaxing away, mindlessly flicking through a fashion magazine that she had stored away.

She had a few more drinks stored away in a small lunch pal inside her bag, along with some fruits to eat that she had gotten for everyone, even Neko. A simple stretch of her body and she was perfectly content to stay where she was. In fact, Carmen thought she might just never get in that pool where she was, slowly however being enticed at the sight of a barbecue being prepared.

  18. "So, he is just going to keep playing with us. Just does whatever he wants until they've had their fun," she spoke, quickly making her way towards a fallen wallet. Looking inside, she could see the New Jersey license and a date that she had to double take on. 1933 was far away from the current year, just like the outfits, the cars, the guns, everything. Things were starting to click for her.

"It says August Roman, he's the one Centurion fought in the old days right. Is Quirk able to pull people from time as well?" voice obviously concerned at how powerful this entity could be.

  19. Puma didn't seem to even blink at the idea of them using a deceased families pool. Even after a few years, she assumed that at the least someone was keeping it in some sort of care, especially since it was still under some form of surveillance. It just meant that without much worry for someone stepping into their fun private pool party. The fun for the moment was up for debate as they had only just got there, looking at the fence that stopped them from getting into the property. She'd take one look at it before crouching low and jumping up with barely even a moment in between, letting her firm superhuman athleticism do the talking as she did so without even faltering upon the landing, nor touching the fence itself.

She'd take in a deep breath, seeing the pool not too far away and beginning to walk in a march towards it, zipped bag filled to the brim with things for the secret pool party. Carmen would smirk as well, thinking that Neko couldn't possibly get over that fence with a little help. The rivalry with no real beginning and seemingly no real end would play out. She still didn't really know why they were fighting but it did feel natural to a degree.

  20. Carmen smiled, a smile growing on her face as he exaggerated his voice, "Well... I wouldn't mind a ride over then," she says before it appeared like there was a new sort of plan of action for their travel. "O'... I guess... never mind then."

A private bus was not what she had in mind when it came to transportation, but then the luxury of the whole situation was not expected either. Puma wasn't accustomed to this sort of wealth on display, more used to old school buses that were repurposed for the school or for the mission back on the island. She would look over towards Naomi and Wilona once before looking to the driver, sighing as she got onboard. When she had been voluntold to come with them to this trip, she thought it would be far simpler, just a dip in the school pool. This instead was a crowded affair, and one that had her situated right across from Neko, arms crossed.
