    Apparent Age: 26

    Gender: Male
    Ethnicity: Caucasian
    Height: 5’ 11”
    Weight: 178
    Eyes: Hazel
    Hair: Brown

    Description:

A night owl, more by necessity then nature, Christopher isn’t nearly as pale as one would expect.

Preferring darker than neutral colors he’s usually dressed in slacks and button up shirt; and usually looking like he may have just rolled out of bed in them, he often completes his attire with a trench coat.

His hair is cut short causing it to stand up a little spiky. Christopher can be found sporting a trimmed mustache and goatee that never quite connects. But long hours on the job can leave him with stubble and needing a shave and trim.

    History:
Born 2 weeks early, to James and Agatha Daye in their home during a total solar eclipse his parents believe he was born under a sign.

His mother was a sorceress and knew right away Christopher possessed magic potential. His father, a scholar of arcane lore but no wizard himself, at first wanted her to wait to teach him but eventually conceded to his wife’s wishes.

Christopher showed great promise and his mother was proud. Then, one winter’s morning when he was 13, he had to be pulled from his burning bedroom by his father. Once his mother had magically suppressed what her realized to be hell flames, she discovered half charged runes that she hadn’t taught her son chalked onto his bedroom floor. When confronted young Christopher told his parents a shadowy figure was teaching them to him in his dreams.

Fearing the implications his parents quickly set about to flee their current home and hide. During the rush to escape James Daye disappeared.

Now panicked even more, Agatha Daye gathered Christopher and his two younger sisters (Bethany and Cassandra) and took them to Freedom in an attempt to hide them.

As he continued to grow, his mother became more serious about her teachings and drilled him in the importance of the Light over the Shadow and not to listen to the shadowy figure that came to him in his dreams. Through practice and discipline the figure showed itself less and less.

After high school he moved to Emerald City with a friend decided to go for his private investigator license. After a few years apprenticing with an established investigator he left on good terms to open his own office. Now, many years later, Christopher Blake Verus Daye operates under the business name of Blackstaff Investigations. He doesn’t advertise, but somehow people who need him find his card or number, or sometimes even find their way into his office. Often with problems that normal avenues can’t handle.

    Personality & Motivation:

Though he may seem rough and snarky when you first meet him, Christopher is very kind and loyal. But if you make him mad he isn’t one to be underestimated. He relies on his quick wit and magic to get himself out of the trouble his sharp tongue and protective nature can get him in to. There’s been a time or two he’s fallen for a sob story and cursed himself for it.

Behind the face of Blackstaff Investigations, Christopher strives to bring light to the darkness that he sees is covering the city. Even if it’s only one case at a time.

    Power Descriptions:

Christopher is able to call upon the primal forces of the universe. To mold the chaos into order. The magic reflects the elements used to shape the spell.

    Complications:
    Shadowed soul:

A yet unidentified shadowy person or entity has taken an interest in Christopher since he was a child and on occasion has attempted to ‘nudge’ him into actions.

  2. Leon eyed Lulu as she leaned in to talk to the bird, when she turned her attention back to himself and Callie he tried to look casual.

    18 hours ago, Heritage said:

Returning her attention back to the new arrivals, she lowered the bike back the ground,  and nodded in acknowledgement of Leon's point. "Ah see where you're goin' with this- " She looked at her clipboard. "Leon, but unlike that distinguished boarding school, we do not allow Dementors on campus. Also- " And here she leaned in close to him, and spoke through a slight grimace. "You ain't the only kid here who's had a run-in with the law; it's more common than you'd think for folks like us."

His eyes flickered to the clipboard, wondering what else was written on it. He looked back up at her as he tried to better gauge her.

"I guess that makes some sense of what the guy in the wheelchair was being cryptic about when had came to talk to me in the hospi-"

Leon cuts himself off. Mentally berating himself for his loose tongue. He still didn't know how much they knew, and you don't give anyone more information then they already have.

    18 hours ago, HGM said:

"I just want it to be known.  If this boy ends up madder than a wet hen.  It ain't my fault."

Although the statement did bring Tabitha to turn her head to Callie Sen.  As derisive as she had been to the boy who had yet to introduce himself.  The girl had been oddly calm.  "Guess they're not kin, if only one knew what the school was.  Ain't that a kick in the head?"  Her last statement had her looking up at her  shoulder.

Leon wasn't sure how the metal girl, Tabitha was what Lulu had called her, had meant the comments, but he felt the need to reply.

"Please, it'll take more then a few party tricks any stage magician could pull off to get under my skin."

11 hours ago, Tiffany Korta said:

“If you could be careful that bike was quite expensive…” she said mostly to herself as the conversation had moved on. And whilst she’d been catching up with popular culture it was surprising how much had been added in the last thirty odd years.

“I might seem like I’m stuck a good few decades in the past, but right now I have no idea what any of you are talking about. Apart from the powers stuff, which is ironic as I don’t have any!”

"I guess this place is just like any other school, wave enough money around and anyone can get in."

    He started to chuckle but...

9 hours ago, Dr Archeville said:

The hawk hopped off Tabitha's shoulder, and flipped beak-over-talons in the air.  As it did, its entire body warped and shifted: it grew many times larger, feathers melted and reformed as fabric, skin stretched smoothly as the skeletal structure rearranged itself into something more humanoid.  By the time he'd landed on his feet, he was completely human, with a round face and long limbs, wearing sneakers, shorts, and a hoodie.

"Ta da!," he spun around to face the three newcomers, offering his hand to each.  "Davyd Palahniuk, Class of '21.  Welcome to Claremont!"  He looked to Callie, "no powers?  No problem!  Claremont's welcoming of all types of folks!"

The chuckled died in his throat as he watched Davyd transform. He was use to seeing powers at work, but even he had to admit that was impressive. Not that he was going to admit it out loud.

"Well a deal's, a deal. And since they got me on the hook..."

Leon said, adjusting his posture to a more relaxed and confident one.

"Sounds like that little paper of yours already had my name. So I might as well start playing the good little student and introduce myself. The name's Leon Moore. And ya, I have a power."

    Description

Lean and athletic, Jennifer enjoys running and does so almost daily. A little on the short side, she has a runner’s build of lean muscle. She wears her hair kept short and hardly bothers with make-up, beyond lip gloss and occasionally nail polish if pushed to go out with friends.

Being a college student, her wardrobe usually consists of thrift store shirts and jeans, but she has a favored coat she received from her mother as a birthday gift. She wears glasses of thin metal frames, but the lens are only for show.

    History:

Jennifer comes from a completely mundane family. As far as she knows, no one in her family has done anything noteworthy. Until starting college she still lived with her parents; her mother Susan Gale, is an accountant for a small firm, and her father, is a construction foreman for a small, local company. Jennifer was a prominent member of her high school track and field team, earning a handful of trophies and awards.

The year prior to the last Terminus Invasion, Jennifer had just graduated from high school and was enjoying the brief freedom before starting college. She had driven up to High Point State Park for a weekend alone. In the early morning she was enjoying a jog along one of its many trails, oblivious to the two falling stars streaking above that changed courses sharply. By the time she heard the sounds of the incoming alien fighters over her earbuds it was too late. The force of first impact knocked her from her feet and a fraction of a second later the second impact flung her into a tree.

The pain was almost unbearable as she tried to drag herself up using the tree as support. Something on one of the ships exploded and showered her with shrapnel, leaving dozens of cuts and a ringing in her ears. Jennifer collapsed to her knees and her vision swam. As her hearing began to clear, she heard shouting and sounds of struggle. Feeling around she was thankful she found her glasses, though one of the lenses was missing.

What she saw was two creatures of inhuman nature locked in physical combat. One of the creatures spotted her and shoved the other aside to rush towards her. It yelled something Jennifer couldn’t understand and the second took the opportunity to fire some kind of weapon at the first. The shot tore through the rushing alien, splattering Jennifer in a silvery-gray ooze. Wounded, alien fell before reaching her and the shooter closed on it, pointing the weapon at the fallen combatant.

The alien on the ground rolled on to its back, seemed to snarl something at the shooter. The shooter replied shortly before noticing the wounded alien was touched something on its arm. The second alien turned away quickly, as if to run, when the explosion erupted. The wave of force and heat drove Jennifer off her feet and tumbling again.

When she finally regained consciousness on the forest floor, she was in dazed and in pain. Pulling herself to her feet she leaned against a tree and looked out over the crater left behind by the explosion. Small bit of metal caught the light here and there, but all Jennifer wanted was to get away from the site. Somehow, she managed to stagger her way back to her car. She couldn’t imagine how she actually made her way back to the hotel she was staying at, but when she finally woke up enough to take in her surroundings, she was in the small hotel bed. Her clothes were torn and bloodied as she stripped them off and entered the shower. Washing off the dried blood and dirt she was shocked not to find and marks on her skin.

With only the remnants of her clothes Jennifer began to think she had simply tripped and hit her head while running. That the entire ordeal had simply been a delusion brought on by head trauma and counted herself lucky she seemed to be okay now. It wasn’t until she had returned home, and her mother had asked where her glasses were that Jennifer realized she hadn’t needed them since the hotel room. She made an excuse and went to her room to wonder what had happen.

In the following year Jennifer started college classes and nothing else out of the ordinary happened…, until the Termius arrived.

The heroes of the city defeated invaders, and all seemed well…, until…

Something during the Terminus Invasion triggered the dormant techno-organic organism sleeping inside, and it awakened. In the time since then Jennifer has discovered the symbiote and learned the she could control it. Sure, it scared the ever-loving hell out of her, but after an acceptable amount of freaking out she finally came to terms with it and accepted that this was the new status quo.

What Jennifer didn’t realize, was that when she was first infected with the active organism, she was seriously injured and the symbiote healed her. The symbiote was small then though, and it took all of its energy to heal her causing it to go dormant until reawakened. And to this day, Jennifer doesn’t know who the aliens where or what they were doing. Was the one that rushed her trying to harm her? Or was it trying to protect her from the other alien? She’ll never know.

    Personality & Motivation:

Jennifer is a smart, energetic college student and she loves being active. She has s friendly and outgoing personality and can usually make friends easy enough. She attends Freedom City University to study Forensic Pathology, with the desire to join the city’s police department.

Jennifer wants to help people and has decided that maybe she can use her newfound abilities to do that, like that heroes that protected her and the other citizens not just during the invasion, but every day.

    Power Descriptions:

The techno-organic symbiote has a silvery-gray metallic appearance and seems to grow out of Jennifer’s flesh, returning when not needed. When active, it can react with incredible speed, growing protective tendrils around her and increasing her physical abilities to inhuman levels.

    (Not unlike unlike the Witchblade)

    Complications:

Remove foil before microwaving: (Power Loss)

Strong electromagnetic fields can interfere with the symbiote, and in turn cause Jennifer to be unable to use it until she can escape the effect.

    Keep a leash on it:

The symbiote is a semi-sentient organism, it has been known to act on its own survival instincts. The GM can award a Hero Point if these involuntary actions causes a severe breach of etiquette or otherwise makes others uncomfortable, which could result in a penalty to (or automatically failing) certain interaction skill checks.

    Have you seen my phone?:

The symbiote’s instincts for survival can extend to feeling the need to fortify itself. This can result in it ‘eating’ electronics and metals it comes in contact with for extended times to add to its material resources. Acting on its instincts it makes no differentiation as to the source of these materials: friend, foe, or other. The GM can award a Hero Point if this results in a severe complication for Jennifer or a companion due to missing items of importance or mechanical failure.

  5. Leon’s eyes lingered on the floating bike before he looked at Lulu. He glances at Tabitha as a large red bird landed on her, then took a moment to look at Callie before turning his attention back to Lulu again. He shouldered his pack and shifted the note book to his left hand. Raising his empty right hand in a ‘wait’ gesture.

“Wo.. wait a minute. ‘Like Hogwarts’? Like a superhero Hogwarts?”

The young man said with something between surprise and disbelief. It quickly passed and he settled on snark, it was his default when caught off guard.

“Considering how well that placed was run, can I opt to go back to juvie?”

  6. Leon’s attention had been on the mound of mud when he’d caught movement out of the corner of his eyes. Another girl, almost as pretty as the other one, literally flew in and landed near them. Shortly behind her a third girl, with skin like metal stepped in to sight. His eyes widened a moment, then narrowed as he stepped away from both of them and the mud-thing.

“What the hell is going on here?”

Leon didn’t have a chance to ask anything else before a scarecrow of a man rolled up with some kind of flamethrower to scare off the mud-things. The elementals he called them.

Leon’s hand pulled a spiral bound notebook from his pack. He glanced around at the caretaker and the girls. The one on the bike looked normal enough and hadn’t done anything yet, but Leon was on edge now and wasn’t going to let guard down.

Almost as suddenly as he arrived the caretaker, Fawks called himself, strolled out of was off and out of sight.

    “What is with this place?”

  7. Leon started and stepped away from the humanoid mud-thing as he turned back to find it closer to him, his hand reaching for a thigh pouch that wasn’t there. He cursed to himself under his breath and narrowed his eyes at it.

He glanced over at the ‘rich girl’, Callie she said her name was, and noticed a second ‘mud-man-thing’. He turned his attention back to the one near him for a moment to see if it had moved again. With a nervous glance around again he looked for any more of the things, then looked back at it.

    “How should I know?”

He said shortly as unshouldered his backpack to hold it by one strap in his left hand. Watching the mud-thing he moved to unzip it.

“But if this was all a scam just to spring a trap, they’re in for a surprise.”

  8. Leon's smirk vanished as he eyed the girl on the motorcycle and judged her to be about his own age. Between the bike and her too pretty to be real looks, he instinctively put her in the 'rich girl' box for further stereotyping later.

He looked back at Detective Renchy again and gave a subdued nod as she bid him farewell. He watched the car pull off, the logo catching the sun and gave a short sigh of acceptance. Glancing around again, it seemed to be just him and the rich girl at first. Something nearby under one of the archways gave him pause, but he couldn’t be sure what he was looking at. He resisted the urge to take a closer look and went back to scanning the courtyard. He thought he remembered someone mentioning an escort around the school.

  9. Leon had remained quiet as the man from social services had spoken to the Claremont staff. He Hadn’t been listening as he looked around, noting various things and sizing up everyone he saw. Everyone except the detective that accompanied him and the social worker. When the social worker had finished and headed back out to his car, Leon watched with disinterest.

    10 minutes ago, Ari said:

    April 7th, 11.46AM, 2019

    Claremont Academy, Main Quad

"...and this is where I leave you, I guess." Det. Janice Renchy had the tired, bleary look of anyone who worked at night who had to be up in the middle of the day. Rubbing at one eye with the heel of her palm, Leon's voucher squinted around the stately, old-fashioned school square. "Dunno how you're not coming out of here with a load of debt. Anyway, I'm sure you'll do great, Leo. Take care of yourself, you got my number if it can do you any good." Smiling a little, she offered the boy a handshake.

She glanced at Leon "You're good here?"

Unbeknownst to the unlikely duo, there was another new arrival, just out of sight...and very much out of time.

Det. Renchy was talking to him and Leon finally looked up at her. He gave her a shrug and tried to look like he didn’t care.

    “I guess so.”

After hesitating a moment, he took the offered hand and shook it. She had visited him in the hospital multiple times, almost every day it seemed sometimes. And afterwards, she had stood up and vouched for his actions in front of the judge when the offer of attendance at Claremont had come up at the hearing. It’s not like he was actually starting to like an adult or anything, but she was less bothersome then most. Sticking his hands in his pockets and gave the detective a mischievous smirk.

“I’m not worried about owing anything, I can steal the money to pay for it later.”

    Height: 5' 10"
    Weight: 180 lbs.
    Eyes: Grey
    Hair: Black

Description: Black hair, cut short and brushed back except for a few bangs that won't cooperate. Leon keeps himself in shape, and trains to keep his agility.

He likes to dress casually in his free time, anime/cartoon themed t-shirts and jeans usually.

His ‘costume’ use to typically consists of a black short sleeved shirt with red trim, blue jeans and sneakers. He has though agreed to a change of colors to reflect the school’s colors. This is easy for him since his ‘costume’ is usually made of paper made to look and act like regular clothing. This is accompanied by a slim, black backpack with a few various books in it at any time, along with some personal items. Several small black pockets on straps around arms (1 on each), thighs (2 on each) and 2 each hip of his belt. Each pocket is large enough to hold a deck of index cards. Hanging on back of the belt is a case that holds 2 large rolls of paper about the width of receipt tape and hundreds of yards long.

    History:
Born in Seattle to a teen mother, she moved to Freedom City when he was still young with her then boyfriend. When Leon began to show signs of not being ‘normal’ the man abandoned them. His mother felt she could not take care of a ‘special’ child and surrendered him to the foster system without telling them of his ‘nature’. Shortly there after she returned to family in Seattle. Leon has not had any contact with her since.

In the system since age 8, Leon was moved from home to home several times, unable to settle, acting up, and trying to run away. At first, he blamed his powers for his mother abandoning him. When he was 11 he landed in the same foster house as two other children hiding their powers. With their help he accepted his powers and embraced them. The three agreed that they could only rely on each other and swore to always be there for the each other.

Believing the system was a failure and that no one else could or would see them as more then either a burden or a paycheck, the three ran away together and turned to small crimes to do what they thought they needed to survive.

At the age of 16, Leon wanted to prove to his brother and sister that he could work solo; he broke into the Freedom City Museum to attempt to steal something. Before he could secure his prize an explosion rocked the building. In the resulting confusion a FCPD detective that was in the building entered the showroom Leon was in. A second, smaller explosion struck and part of the building collapsed inward. Without thinking, he moved to protect the detective with a shield of paper over them both, but he wasn’t fast enough and Leon was knocked out.

After the events at the museum Leon was hospitalized. He woke days later to find he had lost his left arm mid-bicep, but thanks to his quick reaction the detective had escaped with only minor injuries.

During the hearing that followed, the court gave special considerations for his selfless actions and young age, while he would not turn evidence against his siblings, a deal was reached. A representative from Claremont Academy had petitioned on his behalf and Leon agreed to attend the private school under probation. If, and when, Leon successfully graduates from Claremont he would be given a clean slate with the courts and his juvenile records will be sealed.

At first he was rebellious and troublesome, but teachers quickly saw the seeds for a good kid buried under the anger of a rough life. In the time he has attended Claremont, Leon has grown in both power and sense of responsibility, although he would never admit to the latter himself.

He hasn’t disclosed it to anyone yet, but relations with his brother and sister have become strained and he can’t understand why.

    Personality & Motivation:

Leon has always been a bit of a show off. He was also the most ‘energetic’ of his trio of foster siblings. Not bad kids by nature, they simply felt let down and abandon by an over taxed system. Although feeling they had to do what they had to, to survive, none of them ever wanted to hurt anyone.

Leon would never give up his siblings, and would never turn his back on them. He isn’t likely to trust anyone quickly, and even if he does, he would just be waiting for the other shoe to drop.

If asked why he saved the officer he just shrugs and dismisses it as an act of stupidity on his part, not willing to admit he couldn’t stand to see someone get hurt.

    Power Descriptions:

Leon can control and manipulate paper, altering its shape and strength at his will. He can make paper stronger than metal and sharper than any normal blade. He can make it solid enough to resist liquids and gas. He can even have it resist heat and fire to a point. It can easily protect from an explosion with little harm to the paper, but repeated or continued exposure could eat away at the paper eventually.

Shaping it, he can create nearly anything from simple weapons and gear to clothing and simple golems. Many pieces of smaller papers can be melded into a single, seamless construction and when done with them the constructs fall apart into their original pieces, or what’s left of them.

Aside from his power over paper, or perhaps more because of it, Leon has taught himself how to use simple weapons. These would cover most blades, clubs/maces, spears/staves, bows and arrows, and throwing objects. All things he can easily create with paper. Skill wise, Leon is quick and agile from practicing often. He is not overly strong, equal to anyone his size that works out every so often. He has also developed a firm sense of balance.

    Complications:

And I don’t give a damn about my bad reputation: Reputation: Leon and his foster siblings have records with the juvenile courts, and he doesn’t care if others know. Being predisposed to thinking that, in the end, everyone is looking out for themselves.

It’s just a flesh wound: Disability: Leon lost his left arm not long ago during a robbery attempt. During the robbery Leon and a rookie officer were caught in a building collapse, he protected the officer, but his arm was crushed mid bicep. Leon uses his powers to create and maintain a paper arm that looks real enough.

  13. The skinsuit is just to provide limited protection outside of the armor.

I suppose I could trim the sensor suite and immunities to start. They’re two of the biggest point hogs right now.

I really like the ‘Over-clock’ bit, I could trim it down to start. Her blasters are her primary attack so I didn’t want to trim it too much. Would 8 ranks be good to start?

Jean is a humanoid fox from another dimension, standing up straight at about 5 and a half feet (not counting ears). Not having a source of income to start, her attire consists of her operator suit. A snug fitting body suit with various connection nodes across it.

Dreamcatcher’s shape/design is that of a basic generic feminine anthropomorphic feline/canine nature, complete with a generic tail. Coloration is polished grey/silver with some black detailing and a yellow lens in the helmet camera.

    History:

On her Earth, Jean was born in a city that had become a focal point of interdimensional and interstellar events. Her world had been populated by humanoid animals instead of regular humans, but over the years the population of the city nearly doubled with other races from the influx of arrivals, including humans from alternate Earths. During this time a growing number of these individuals arrived with strange abilities and incredible powers. Most where peaceful, but not all of them, and many fights erupted in the city and its surrounding areas. During one of these fights the research facility Jean’s parents worked at was destroyed and they died as a result. This drove her to become obsessed with finding a way to combat the hostile ‘outsiders’, as she referred to them. She designed the Dreamcatcher armor and built it in secret. She funded the project by syphoning money from an unscrupulous businessman (very Lex Luther, but not as ‘hands on’ with his dirty dealings. i.e. – not suiting up in his own armor to go one on one with good guys.). She worked for him as a researcher in one of his labs and gathered a group of like-minded individuals to help with her secret project.

After several years the suit and her research grew and evolved, until a massive dimensional anomaly hit her home world. After it passed Jean found herself in a new world, with no idea how to get back.

    Personality & Motivation:

A natural intellectual prodigy from a young age, Jean’s personal lose was her initial, nearly obsessive, driving force. In the beginning, she was strict and harsh to those she saw as possible threats (almost Casey Jones/ gritty Batman). But in time, with the help from supportive friends, she began to let go of her obsession. She learned to temper her anger, opening her eyes and sometimes even her heart to those that found their way to her world. She began to dedicate herself to protecting those who could not protect themselves whether they were ‘native’ or ‘outsider’.

    Powers & Tactics:

Jean had primarily worked alone, trying to keep a low profile, but would willingly join forces to help with larger threats. Jean is the type to take a moment to look for the best approach to a problem and search for a weak point to exploit, then strike quickly and precisely.

    Power Descriptions:

The Dreamcatcher armor was designed by Jean using technological advances derived from reverse engineering devices and artifacts from many different ‘outsiders’ to her world over the years.

    Complications:

    Destitute [-1pp]

Due to the sudden nature of the dimensional shift, Jean arrived in Freedom City with only her armor and skinsuit. This forces her to scavenge for supplies and parts.

    Stranger in a not-so-strange land

The Earth Jean came from had enough similarities for her to make sense of things, but enough differences to make many social interactions potentially awkward.

From minor differences like the names of companies and products might be different. To moderate differences like the race/species of a person being different then she knew back home. To major differences like the details of historical events being different.

    Dressed for work

The skinsuit, while not required to operate the armor, does provide more accurate and detailed control.
