  1. Amelyth tentatively reached a hand back out to Ted, "That wasn't so hard was it? Just gotta get in your own headspace and face the thing head on..." She grabs it firmly, unsure of what he wants to do at this point, but she's pretty sure it's not anything too bad. "Wanna go talk it to your brother next? You don't really have to wait for the meeting, unless you want to tell him off to his face."

The heroine looks off at the nightmare beast running away from just a few moments of strong resistance. If she were a nightmare beast herself she would've done this a lot differently... she lets out a chuckle at her own thoughts. "In the end it's way weaker than I expected... the Inner Specter."

  2. "Yeah! You just keep saying that and maybe we'll just kick your butt anyway just to spite you!" Amelyth was mildly surprised to find herself shouting at the demon already without even thinking about it.

She looked the scene over and took off dashing towards the tower and as an afterthought yelled back to Ted, "Hey! Help me tear this tower down! It'll be fun!"

The heroine flies into the air and crackles with psionic energy as she divekicks into the tower!

  3. Amelyth relaxed just a little bit and nodded her approval, no, her assent to whatever help this invention might give. If it could suppress the dreams, then maybe this guy here could get up the nerve to stand up to his brother, "Alright, might as well give it a shot. Maybe keep an eye out for people with a demon haunting their dreams in the future alright?"

Standing there she realized she felt a burning need to strike back at the demon somhow, make it so it could never do this to anyone ever again.

  4. Amelyth grabs Ted's hand before he can raise the pill to his mouth, "Don't, I have a bad feeling that it might just give the Specter a chance to dig it's claws further into your mind." The heroine starts to feel confident as she starts to assert some sort of control over the situation. She looks over to the man handing out the pills, "I would hold off on handing those out, there's some demon called the Inner Specter jerking people around by their dreams and causing suicides. People are dying because of it."

Amelyth then goes up to the receptionist, channeling her inner Renegade-Shepard, "I heard there was something going on with dreams here, has anyone committed suicide after using any of the dream related machines here?"

  5. Amelyth snaps her fingers, trying her best to remember all the random side studying she did back in Claremont, she remembers something useful and that gives her a bit of hope, "I- I think I know what we're dealing with here. It's some nightmare demon called the Inner Specter. It going around, filling random people all over town with negative emotions while making them all self-conscious about their flaws just for kicks." She lets out a long sigh of semi-feigned relief, "I think I know where to start, there's some expo over at the A.S.T.R.O. labs that has some dream-related thing that might help us figure this out; or we could go find some mystical hero to deal with it."

  6. Amelyth will now make a bunch of knowledge checks!

Good thing she knows a lot!

A bunch of rolls, results are below.

    Knowledge (Art) 2 (+4) +15 = 19
    Knowledge (Arcane Lore) 4 (+6) + 19 = 25
    Knowledge (Current Events) 6 (+8) + 17 = 25
    Knowledge (Physical Sciences) 4 (+6) + 12 = 18
    Knowledge (Technology) 2 (+4) + 14 = 18

Man that's a bunch of good rolls.

  7. Amelyth looks down and shakes her head, trembling "There's some evil... depression ghost thing setting up shop in your head. I couldn't do anything to it. It... it said you would have to 'change your heart' to even have a chance of beating it." She takes a deep breath and holds her head in her hands, "Looks like in the end I was even more useless than you were, I felt utterly powerless against that thing."

The heroine tries to think of anyone, anyone at all that might be able to help this poor guy out. "There's, there's gotta be something we can do to fight it..."

  8. Amelyth looked around the nightmare landscape, crap, how was she going to get out!? As far as she could tell she had unintentionally trapped herself here.

Okay, maybe this is just like a really, really lucid dream? I can't even feel myself out on the street there! she took a deep breath, If this is a lucid dream deal, then... all I have to do is imagine a door? A door back to me, yeah.

Her dreamself reached out a hand as if she could do something, but then saw that the landscape of the ruined castle around her seemed to be already providing her with a door, she made a mad dash for it and when it opened it just led to another part of the castle! If this place really did control all of the "dreamscape" around her... she felt a sinking feeling as the realization that she might be trapped here with this thing started to sink in.

But a glimmer of hope still remained: she had passed through "layers" on her way down here right? All she needed to do was pass back through them right!?

In a blind panic the heroine flapped her wings and set course straight for the sun of this dreamworld.

  9. So this is what's lurking inside the guy's head, maybe it's just a representation of his depression or maybe it's even something invading his mind! But there was no way Amelyth was just going to stand there and do nothing about it!

She lets out a growl and gets into a fighting stance, "Just what I'd expect some kind of depression ghost thing to say. You wanna bet ghosty?" Her claws form around her fists as she does a mighty leap into the air and does her best to smash the depression-ghost-thing into pieces!

    4 points to shave.

  11. Amelyth began to reach an arm out tentatively, "Just relax and try to think about that feeling you get in the morning. It works better if you focus on what you want me to see." And sorry if I see anything you don't want me to see... she left that last part unspoken as to not give the guy reason to change his mind.

She took a deep breath and accessed the part of her powers that she rarely used considering she was technically a psychic, she always thought of herself as more of a... punchy type or something. She took another deep breath to clear her thoughts and reached out her hand to touch the man's brow.

  12.  Amelyth tilts her head as she thinks, "Um... sounds like depression?" She sighs as she thinks a little harder, "Maybe I could ah... how you'd say.... 'take a peek'? I can ah, look into minds. Kind of like mind reading." Her wings rise with her shoulders as she shrugs and she stretches her lips in a sort-of smile. "Just a thought, but maybe I could like, peer into your subconscious and see what's going on with it? You don't have to if you don't want to I mean!

Just, I can do that if you'd want." Uncertainty rings out through her voice as she tries to make it seem like she's forcing him any.

  13. Amelyth is silent for a few seconds, "...Well, you've got me pegged there I guess."

She sighs and takes a seat next to the guy (which must be an odd sight), "I don't got those kind of problems, but I've got my career and future and stuff to think about ya'know? I can't really make a career off of clawing bad guys in the face. I mean I've already sent out a billion job applications to every fast food joint I can think of..! But so have thousands of other people too. It's not like I'm some super genius who can just whip up something to play the stock market forever and never worry about money either!" The heroine throws her head back against the wall and continues ranting, "My mom's all 'be the best hero ever!' 'superhero harder!' 'with great power comes great responsibility!" crap like that ya'know...?"

Suddenly, she leans forward, "What, is all that crap you're taking about really happening to you? That's rough.

Um... want my help with all that? I mean I can't help about the job part, I'm kind of screwed on that too, but I could go punch up that gang for ya?" she asks uncertainly.

  14. Ameyth glanced down from yet another boring patrol flight and spied a McDonald's as her stomach grumbled slightly. It was kind of early for lunch, but considering she had left the house at six in the morning with only a bowl of cereal-mostly to avoid having to talk to her mother and brother about how her hero stuff was going-she was fairly hungry.

The heroine doubled back around and came to a smooth vertical landing just in front of the fastfood joint and stares a while at the guy who just seems to be moping a store front over. Well, she hadn't done her "good deed for the day" yet or something (she wishes sometimes she never mentioned that idea to her mom, it had become a regular daily conversation surprisingly fast) and she supposes this could count, besides you don't have to beat up baddies all the time to be a hero a few kind words or a simile is all it takes sometimes!

    ...or something like that.

Amelyth walks over to the guy and leans against the building, "Hey man, why the long face?"

  15. I'm thinking that Amelyth can strike up a conversation with her guy, eventually does her touch range mind reading and catches" the bug" herself because of her feedback flaw on it leading to her doing something really stupid in the name of heroing.
