  1. "If there's anything on the ship, it'd be a kindness to destroy it."

Kyla looked at Triakosia sternly.  "Did you even hear anything I said?  These things don't talk.  We tried.  They just... absorb."

She sighed.  "And you're right, Cavalier, that's absolutely the last thing I want to hear."

The woman floated for a few seconds, considering.  "But if you have to see for yourself, you should go in with some backup.  I'll come with."

  2. Stronghold burns an HP to shake of that Stunned condition...

Then hits Wildcard with a Blast!  She'd try for a Snare, but she's currently still in 'oh god pain' mode, so...

    1d20+10=27!

Wildcard has a DC25 toughness save of his own to make if that hits!

  3. Sydney, Australia

Observation Gallery of the Sydney Tower

    3rd of November 2014, 1300

The directions given had asked the various heroes who had answered the call to make their way here- to the headquarters of the Australian Superhero Network- or at least, the central coordination center.  One of the sections available to the public, the tower provided a prime viewing location for the vast majority of Sydney, on this slightly cool Spring day.  They gathered some attention, standing in costume, but not as much as they might have six months ago- superheroes going in and out of Sydney Tower on business wasn't a rare sight anymore, not since March, and probably would continue for a while.

After a few minutes, the three heroes heard the sound of a wheelchair against the floor of the observation deck's floor, as a young-looking woman with brown hair, hazel eyes and light skin pulled up besides them.  "Corona, Rift, and... Queenie?  I'm Catherine Fields.  I'd like to welcome you to Sydney, although I'd wish it were in much better circumstances.  Would you like to come with me?"

  4. So, thread idea, with a side of 'see how Vector's doing' and 'because I have villain ideas, darn it'

The Australian Superhero League's sending out a call for support in an operation against the villain Redback, a supervillain who's one of the Big Shots of the Australian scene for a number of reasons- one of which being that he's well-known for having killed the superhero Cloudrunner I- he seems to be expanding some of his operations, and some of the directions he seems to be going in are... disturbing, so the League's calling for some outside support- after the whole fuss with the Omega Boss, they're putting major focus into uprooting his organisation, and Redback seems to be... taking advantage.

So, I need three to four PCs, ideally around PL10 or so.  Any origin is fine with me.  :)

  5. Oh, as far as Terrifica can tell, the magical signal was pointing in pretty much a westward direction- combine that with the smell of the fish, and it'd be pretty obvious to her that the Waterfront's one of the prime places to look, given it's a few miles westward.

  6. Upstairs

Mikala smiled for the first time since the heroes had arrived- a grim smile, to be sure, but still a smile.  "Finally.  Some good news.  Come on down, we can catch up with the family before you head off."

He lead the two heroes downstairs, where they heard...

    Downstairs

Daisuke Miyamoto thought for a long time.  "There may be those who are unhappy with me, but... no.  I can think of three people who might be angry with me for whatever reason, but all three are in Japan, and more importantly, despite our differences, all three are honorable men- not the sort to strike at a man through his family- or by illegal means.  I will provide names, just in case, but... I do not think it likely."

Hinata spoke up.  "Light.  She can make light.  Harsh enough to burn or glare... and gentle enough to heal."

The middle-aged woman sat, thinking with her hands on her lap.  "I do not know who might be interested, we have only told a very limited set of people.  My brother- his son is living in the city, and got the news as well in case he knew of someone here who could help- he said he did not..."

Mikala walked down the stairs, interrupting the slightly rambling sentence.  "We've tried contacting him using the number you gave, but he's out of contact."  He looked at the superheroes.  "There is some good news, these two fine young women have found a track."

  7. Character: Memorial

What She's Doing: Heading to the Lor Republic, because she's got a Communion to warn people about, and from what she's heard, the Lor miiiight be the most receptive.  Maybe.

Alternatively, if Sharl gets out the news, she's got the capability to get to Lor space in a few days (or will, once her edit gets in), and she will likely do so.

  8. "Yeah.  That's them."

Kyla was silent for a moment.  She didn't recognise the exact ship type.  Maybe they'd done to other races what they'd done to hers since then, maybe this ship pre-dated the attack on Belran.

Heck, starship design wasn't her exact skillset, maybe this was from the same area as Belran had been in.

It didn't matter, really, because she more than recognised the effects.  That ship had been taken over, subsumed into the Communion as a whole.  She didn't know what happened to the consciousnesses of people absorbed by the Communion, or their spirits- but she suspected it was similar.  That at least some of them might be still trapped, unable to move on.  Unable to learn, to explore.

She hadn't been kidding when she called the Communion a blasphemy.

The silver-armored figure's voice broke her out of her state deep in thought, as she turned her head.  "If by 'customary greetings' you mean 'blow them up', I'm all for it.  They're not going to talk- we tried, when we first detected them approaching our world.  The people we sent just... disappeared.  My view, just ram this ship into that one, them blast anything remaining until there's one less bit of the Communion."

  9. Memorial frowned.  This thing just wasn't going down.

And it seemed like it could retaliate against energy-based attacks.  That could be... bad.

Right now, though, her servomotors were really not up to the task of dealing damage... she needed to redirect repair systems there.  Or see about reconnecting power.

In the meantime... she raised a hand, the energy cycle powering up again, before she let off another blast of energy.

Which still didn't take the dinosaur down, and the resulting energy burst left her with a feeling that seemed a lot like scorching.  If she hadn't been prepared...

She frowned, floating in the air.  "Hitting it directly doesn't work that well, but maybe..."

She started to look around and see if there was any pillars she could bring down on the beast.

  10. So, remember when I said I was musing over a Naga NPC?

Well, she's mutated a bit from the original 'martial artist' idea.

  11. Haruko nodded. "Yes, they do. In Freedom City itself, actually, I am here for a… few reasons."

She paused for a moment, enough for Casey to interject… before the American leaned forwards.

Ah. Right. Culture clash. Haruko figured it was mostly that the other girl didn't know, so she tried subtle cues, leaning back a little first. "That might be nice… isn't it quite hot there?"

  12. Stronghold froze. Dammit. She did not want to end up tied up in the cargo hold, that would be embarrassing. And possibly dangerous.

On the other hand, that was a big gun, and possibly something to be cautious about. Sorry, did she say possibly? She meant definitely.

She focused, creating a construct in her mind. Fine control, letters again, as she very, very gingerly started to pull herself up. Then, her ring flashed- only for a moment- as letters appeared in front of Foreshadow.

Wildcard's got a gun trained on me.

    Well, hopefully that would work.

  13. Stronghold gave Foreshadow a thumbs-up, before putting her hands on the wheel.  "All right, here goes..."

There was a lot to look out for.  I mean, this was Wildcard, the name said it all.  Be prepared for anything.  The plane could turn into a giant robot or something, and then they'd all really be stuffed.

    Okay, probably not that.  Maybe.

The Hawaiian superheroine gave the wheel a good yank, boosting her strength a bit with the Orange Ring in order to make sure that the wheel didn't stick.
