  1. As Malice circles the area looking for a target to test his grenades on, he spots a figure approaching him from the sky, an angry figure. Ah crap. Is that...? It is... naturally. Build this suit to fight all the supers and the poster boy himself shows up. Guess I get to make my mark quickly, but will it be in the history books or the sidewalk?

To himself: "Build Log 115: When testing new powered armor, it is wise to test the weapons systems first or at least doing so in a subtle manner. Suggested remedies: common sense."

"Alright twinkle toes, let's do this!" shouts Malice at the approaching figure. The suit whirs to life and begins emitting a faint red glow as Malice begins to enter a fighting pose, and the suit's energy output spikes in preparation for full battle.

  2. Propulsion systems operating at expected 85% efficiency. Structural integrity showing no signs of weakness. Life support systems are fully operational. All peripheral systems check out. "Excellent. It's working even better than expected."

A man sized and shaped object flying over Freedom City had not been a rare sight in quite a long time, but this figure was. Clad in full body red and blue armor, this figure looked much like a bird learning to fly. It had the basics down, but now it attempted to do more, and attempted a variety of aerobatics.

"Hrmm. Not quite as mobile as I thought. Build Log 113: Armor acts somewhat sluggishly around corners. Suggested remedies: reduce armor's weight by 7% or increase manual dexterity at junctions 3 and 7 by 4%."

Flying over the Fens, Malice ran down the list of systems and how they have performed, until his eyes fell on the last system to be checked: the weapons system.

"Haha. Finally. Now all I need is a target." Almost as if on cue, a beat up station wager runs a red light in the intersection below him. "Perfect. Arm main laser-cannons, and lock on target." Weapons armed, target locked, fire when ready.

And just like that the relative piece of the Fens was shattered. The car looked as if it had been hit by a semi as it careened into a telephone pole. "Build Log 114: Main Cannons perform up to specifications, but have a slightly higher kick back than estimated. Suggested Remedies: Decrease frequency of beams by 1% and increase beam diameter by 0.7%. What's next, Photon Grenades, nice. Need a bigger target." Malice turns a deaf ear to any shouts and cries directed at from below, they haven't seen what this suit can really do yet. He'll wait until the crowd has seen true power to pay them any mind. He circles above the area, looking for a suitable target for his next weapon.

  3. Alright. I'm not too familiar with Freedom City, so I'll defer to you for this. Where's a place in the city that one could expect a fair amount of people to be out and about during the later hours, but removed enough that there aren't a dozen or so supers breathing down your neck? That'll make a good starting point.

  4. Wow, anti-ninja'd that's a first. And on my first post on this forum to (aside from character bank) what're the odds?

Hrmm. Because it's essentially Malice's first night out, he's probably putting his suit through it's paces and if he really wanted to do that, that would probably require testing out his weapon systems.... on moving, but otherwise defenseless targets. So, you up for it?

  5. Hello all. I just joined the forums today and I figured its a good enough time to try and get the ball rolling on a bit of an adventure. The thing is, I really don't have much of a creative mind for creating plots that could draw together such a wild crowd, by which I mean the villains of course. This is complicated by the fact that I'm a noobie both to the forums and to the general scene itself.

My character, Malice, (sigged for your viewing pleasure) has just completed the first fully operational prototype for his power armor and desperately needs some field work to try and figure out where the suit needs some fine-tuning, or just more weapons. So if anyone has an adventure in mind where they need an extra gun, or just one to fight against, let me hear it. Really, anything that'll introduce my character and get into the swing of things, even if its only a minor part of the overall plot is fine.

    Thanks in advance.

    PP Unspent: 0

    Characters Name: Malice

    Alternate Identity: Eric Micheals

    Height: 5'8" (6'3" in suit)

Weight: 140 lbs (200lbs in suit, go undefined lightweight metal)

Hair: A deep red that goes half-way to his shoulders and is parted down the middle.

    Eyes: Green

Description: Despite being quite wealthy, many would claim that Eric is quite down to earth. He tends to be thrifty with his money and is very focused on the task at hand. He can be a bit of a pain to work for because of his high expectations, but if you can routinely make them, then he's a great boss. He can take a joke and talks to everyone as if they are equals, but he can be quite terse and egotistical at times.

As of late however, he was really started to resent the supers running about. He hates how dozens of them can take a blast from his most powerful weapon and still be left standing. He feels as if they are mocking his hard work with something that just fell into their lap. His frustration, resentment, and maybe even jealousy became so intense that he started up a private project: building the ultimate anti-super weapon.

After nearly a year, his first first prototype is up and running. He dubbed it the Arms of Malice because it is literally a physical manifestation of his hatred for the supers. He plots to one day crush each and every last super in his iron grip, but for now he knows he needs to bide his time. He is still a novice to this sort of thing, and he needs to build up a solid power base if he is to succeed in his plans.

History: Born 28 years ago, Eric Miceals was always seen as a gifted child. He was always very smart and by the time he was 8 he was already building his own computers. Eric always received top marks with next to no effort, becoming a bit of an outcast with his peers, not that it mattered of course. Every minute he spent away from kids was one he spent with his parents, who he loved dearly.

Now, Eric is a wealthy business man. He owns the relatively small weapons company Darts Inc. (named after the founder). He inherited the shares from his father who passed away about 2 years ago, and combined with the shares he already had, he became the majority shareholder. Eric still misses his father, but he takes solice in the fact that he got to know him so well before his death. Eric does not however, actually have an executive position in the company. He is one of the lead scientists in the R&D department; he loved his old job and he never really saw the benefit of over seeing a company, there's too much work involved.

Originally, Eric had used his own basement and tools to design and build the Arms of Malice, but after its completion, he realized that should it ever need real work done on it, he'll need more space. With a bit of ingenuity, elbow grease, wads of cash and a power suit that could lift over 200 times its own weight, and tear matter apart molecule by molecule, Eric had made a bunker for himself below his own house. A section of one of the walls in his basement is a hologram, which "blocks" access to the elevator which takes you another 30 feet down to the base itself, assuming you can bypass the security on the elevator.

The base itself isn't all that much to look at. It's essentially just wall to wall tech, with blinking light and monitors as far as the eye can see. There's bit and pieces of half-finished prototypes and scavenged parts lying all over the room. Schematics and designs with various levels of completion are strewn all over a table in the corner, right next to an equally high mound of crumbled paper. What's more is that there are wires running all over the ground going from what appears to be the main power unit in the center of the room to every corner of the room like the drunken weavings of a spider.

    Complications:

    * Rivalry (other power suit users) - If you're going to do anything, might as well be the best at it.

    * Obsession (Power [For the suit]) - If he's not field testing the latest tune up for his suit, he's trying to come up with the next tune up.

    * Hatred (metahumans who were given or born with their powers)

    Descriptors

    Weapons Array:

After becoming acquainted with the volitile side of conventional weaponry, Malice has opted for a more energy based method. It's quite akin to kinetic energy sharpened to a point. The exception is the last 3 AP's. Rather than breach something, they shake it, violently. Especially so in the last case. This has the added benefit of making the suit much more durable.
