  1. Okay thanks. That's what I figured, but never hurts to ask.

Now a few questions on Duplication itself:

Let's say you have Duplication 10 with the Heroic Extra, and that's it, so you just summon 1 identical duplicate. Suppose you're in a fight, and the Duplicate has taken a fair amount of damage and is eventually knocked unconscious, and disappears.

Could the original then use Duplication again to bring the Duplicate back on his next turn?

If so, what level of health would the duplicate re-appear at? IE: would they still have all the bruises, injuries, etc. or be fully healed?

What if the original sustained damage, would the duplicate have that as well, because they are a copy of the original?

Say the Original summons the Duplicate as a standard action, so the Original has a move action left. Would the Duplicate have just a move action as well, or would he have both a standard and move?

  2. Say you make yourself a duplicator, and you've got a fair share of Equipment; guns, costumes, etc. Will your duplicate(s) have those items as well if they have all the same traits as you? I would assume so, but never hurts to ask.

EDIT: Things like vehicles and headquarters are obviously not duplicated.

  3. Okay, I'm late in seeing it, but I just saw The Dark Knight yesterday, and its far better than people say, which is saying something. I don't think anyone else could have or should have played the Joker other than Ledger. There was like 3 or 4 times there where I just had to stop thinking about anything else other than what I had just seen so I could fully bask in its glory. It has raised the bar for artistic expression as a whole.

Vulnerable (Electricity Damage) Uncommon, Moderate (+50% DC) [-2]

    Complications:

Fame: Red Star has foregone the idea of an alternate identity, and the public knows full well who he is. Especially given him (albeit small time) endorsement deals.

Noticeable: Red Star's eyes are a deep bright red and seem to glow.

    DC Block:

    Blast 8 - 23/Toughness -- Bruise (Staged)

    Unarmed - 23/Toughness -- Bruise (Staged)

    Costs: Abilities (20) + Combat (16) + Saves (4) + Skills (4) + Feats (4) + Powers (51) - Drawbacks (02) = 97 / 100

    Appearance

Red Star is in the prime of life. He stands at 6'2" weighs in at about 160 lbs, and has the build of somone who frequents the gym. He is rather fair skinned, which is somewhat surprising for someone who's out as often as he is. His black hair is parted down the center and is relatively short. The feature that stands out most of all however are his eyes, which are bright red, and seem to glow.

    Costume

Red Star's costume is somewhat simple. The vast majoirty of his costume is plain white. It has long sleeves and pants, both of which are white. His costume isn't skin tight like many others, his are looser, though not as loose as casual clothes tend to be. He doesn't wear any gloves, and instead of boots which is the norm, he often times just wears his street shoes. He wears a half cape that is black on the inside and white on the outside. He dons a plain black belt on his waist. Just about the only decoration on his costume is the insignia on his chest, which is a 7 pointed red star apparently bursting through his chest.

    History

Steven Rivers grew up an orphan. His parents, whoever they are, apparently didn't want him, and placed him on the steps of an orphanage one night. Steven grew up as a relatively normally child. His favorite pastime was reading comic books and even the news papers when they had some news about real live super heroes. He got decent grades all through school, and was a good player on the football team. His utter tenacity and physical prowess gave him some pretty good numbers, but not great numbers. He didn't get any sports scholarships, at least none good enough to let him go to college. In the summer at the end of senior year, Steven had an eventful night of drinking and wound up with super-powers. Within the week, Steven had moved to Freedom City and legally changed his name to Red Star. Soon after he landed an endorsement deal with a sporting goods company and filmed a quasi-famous commercial where he threw a football the length of the field and caught it himself. Although the deal was quite lucrative, Red Star doesn't have a day job so he has to watch what he spends.

    Origin Story

One night he was gazing up at the night sky and saw a bright red glowing star in the night. He looked at the star, intrigued. To this day he doesn't know why he did it, but he reached out and tried to grab the star. What was amazing, is that he actually succeeded. He pulled back his hand as he sat up, and there, plain as day sitting in the palm of his hand was a red star about the size of a baseball. With it's reflection twinkling in his eye, and its warmth playing on his hand, Red Star suddenly felt the need to sleep. When he awoke, he found the star to be gone, but a similar warmth was in his chest. He brushed the whole affair off as a weird dream, as he had also been drinking pretty steadily during the night (explains why he was sprawled out looking at the stars :-) ). However, the scientific world at large also woke up the next day to find the Red Giant Celecia which was about to go Nova, gone from the skies. In the coming days Red Star began to realize that he had been endowed with incredible gifts.

    Personality

Red Star is still getting used to the whole hero thing, and as such, he currently prefers the direct approach. He's experimenting with what his powers are capable of, as they are growing almost by the day. He doesn't consider himself a hero yet, he feels like he's just a guy that kicks the snot out of the bad guys. He thinks having super powers is the greatest thing that could ever happen to anyone, and as such, gave up his old normal boring life. He's not one to sit around and try to think of a plan, but he'll tolerate a plan making session if those involved are the more classic heroes that could show him the ropes. You could think of him as a green horn that's eager to learn the ropes, but a little more eager just to get in on the action.

Note: I've sent a request to archive Bounce, and Red Star here will take his place.

  5. Okay, got another round of questions.

Let's say I have this array:

    Blast 10 PF: Dynamic

    DAP: Super-Strength 10

    DAP: Flight 10

And outside of the array I have:

    Blast 2 PF: Precise

    Super-Strength 2 PF: Counter Punching

    Flight 2 PF: Subtle

As you can probably guess the line of inquiry here is whether powers in an array "stack" with those outside, and if the power feats of those outside apply to the ones in the array.

So for example, say I put all 20 points of the dynamic array into flight. Would I have:

    Flight 10

    Flight 2 PF: Subtle

    Flight 12

    or

    Flight 12 PF: Subtle

  6. In a rather average house on the Riverside, Eric Micheals is collapsed on a recliner couch in utter exhaustion. His arms and chest sport several new welts and bruises, and Eric is nursing them with a few ice packs, while the news goes on in the background. A familiar face is shown on the news and Eric leans forward to turn up the volume, but winces at the pain in his chest. He settles for turning up the volume with one of his feet.

"...their battle shook through the North End last night. Captain Wonder and the villain known as Malice had a brief but intense battle that ended in a draw. Eyewitnesses claim that the pair ended their duel with a planned simultaneous attack. Both were sent flying across the skyline, and Malice was gone by the time the authorities arrived. The officers on scene had this to say..."

Eric hit the mute button on the remote, he already had heard enough. He knew he was going to be made out to be villain. He had fought Captain Wonder, that was practically like punching Santa Claus in the face. Getting gingerly to his feet, Eric retreated to his bunker. There lay his armor rife with battle damage, and the bunker itself was half-finished with a new addition. With a groan he remembered that he had a presentation to give at the office tomorrow as well. He was about to go to work repairing his armor when he noticed the time on his watch, 3:17 AM. With a sigh he changed direction and hit the lights on the bunker wall and headed back upstairs. Gratefully getting into bed he uttered the words "Not enough hours in the day."

  7. Ah okay, I got ya now. So if I wanted to have multiple "settings" on the Blast power and wanted to simultaneously use some of the flying and super-Strength, those "settings" would need to be dynamic as well, got it.

    Thanks for the help.

  8. Shouldn't this be "Also if I [don't] allocate points into the base Blast power, I could use one of it's Alternate powers instead [...]"? (Since it is "either or" with ordinary Alternate Powers.)

My thinking was that the alternate powers essentially draw their power from the original dynamic power. If I didn't allocate points to the original blast power, then their is no power to be an alternate of.

So if I put all my points into Super-Strength and Flight, could I use one of the alternate blasts while still flying/ being super strong?

And the total cost comes up to 27pp: 20 (Base Power) +1 (Base Power made dynamic) +2 (2 AP) +4 (2 Dynamic AP)

Okay, I didn't know dynamic ap's upped the cost by 1, but makes sense really.

  9. I need help figuring out how Dynamic Arrays work, I think.

    Blast 10 PF: Dynamic

AP: Blast 10 Extras: Area-Cone, Flaws: Touch Range

AP: Blast 10 Extras: Area-Burst, Flaws: Touch Range

    DAP: Super-Strength 10

    DAP: Flight 10

That's my sample array. Now, unless I'm mistaken, I've got 20 points to mess around with for the Dynamic Powers. Also if I allocate points into the base Blast power, I could use one of it's Alternate powers instead, but if I had a few points floating around, I could also use Flight and Super-Strength as well, hypothetically. Also the cost of this particular array would be 25 pts.

  10. Still recruiting.

It probably won't be obvious that the bots belong to Malice unless you have a good eye for technology and can see the similarities that Malice's battlesuit has with the droids, or you deduce that Malice at least considers these droids important because he seems to actively try and gather them up trying to cause only minor damage to them.

  11. I think I know what he's talking about.

If his array was dynamic then he could have 2 (or more) powers active at the same time. He's asking if 2 such of these powers were in the array could he in effect hit someone with a stun and another person with confuse, using split attack. From my understanding of both the question and the rules (both of which are a little hazy) I would say no.
