  1. Im facing away from emmesary right now..he has my body, not my head..yet.. :D :mrgreen:

    I'm just talking as far as what it says for doing things while grappled/squeezed, that's all. It's a discretionary thing mind you.

  4. (OOC: Y'know, I'd personally like to think trying to stop the guy lighting Southside up like a bonfire counts as being one of the people trying to help the common man today, if you're going to get all post modern about things :P)

    IC: His hold continues to constrict, though the continued presence of the helicopter manages to replace whatever else the Emissary had been feeling with just a bit of exasperation.

    "Unfortunately dedicated media representative! Please withdraw to a safer distance!"

    (need another toughness save at -1 from Vengeance/Damien, continuing to go with the damage option until he can break out of the grapple.)

  7. Yow. Well, hopefully Raindance is at least now out of being suffocated (my roll to bust him out of it was pretty decent).

    Okay; just to put this out there before the posts for next round starts, assuming a bunch of us are still up and Freedom Eagle can bust out of the Entangle, I don't think continuing to toss off individual attacks and hoping the Mummy will roll low is going to get us much of anywhere other than getting picked off one at a time. Hybrid to swing for 15 has had to /seriously/ expose himself, fer instance. Barring the Mummy indeed rolling really low and getting KO'd by his punch, in which case, um, don't mind me..

    So, these are just some suggestions;

    1) Raindance shifts everything into blast, and power attacks for 15, spending a hero point for a reroll if he misses. The rest of us similarly attack as part of a combined attack with such. If even only two other people hit out of everyone that tries, that's a damage bonus of +19, which from how things look, should at least get us a bruised result, which lowers further toughness saves. If one more person besides manages to hit.. etc.

    2) Everyone grapples the Mummy, should result in a +8 aid bonus to a pretty salutary grapple check that I have. Which, given the Mummy's gargantuan size, could mean I can then fly him up into the sky, flip around, and fall such that his giant mummy head takes all the falling damage (which could be quite a lot). Asked the Ref, and he noted it being entirely possible to do.

    The massive combo attack is probably the safer of the two options, mind you.

    Anyway, these are just some ideas, seemed like it would be better to float them out there before the next round starts in case the Mummy isn't knocked out.

  10. The Emissary felt his very soul assailed by what seemed to be an attempt to draw out his rage and anguish, and thereby crush him with it, his senses assailed by what seemed to be resounding echoes of condemnation of the nature of the outside world, of the sheer futility of having any hope for it..

    "No! They are a fine people, and they are worth fighting for!"

    More than just drawing on the memories and personalities of the Utopian heroes he had been crafted from, the Emissary drew on his own experiences with the people of Freedom City so far, with his sense of wonder at even the smallest part of their lives, his contentment at walking among them. And whatever despair he might have felt was replaced only by a steely resolve to let no further harm come to them. A resolve not to let men such as Vengeance freely victimize them. His grapple held, and constricted still.

    (OOC: made my save, got a 25 total. http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1353279 everyone else now gets to do their thing before it cycles to a new round)
