  1. Daedelus stroked his beard.

"You wouldn't want to have the existance of such an organization publically announced? I'm just looking for a clarification on what you mean here. In my view, I think we should avoid getting too cloak and dagger, separating yourself from humanity in your workings can lead to feelings of disconnection, of dehumanization."

  2. The current state of the magical gang is just fine, but check with us before expansions of it and so forth.

The mutant mafia.. okay, basically among other things, Freedomworld, as it were, doesn't really come off as having the thriving, numerous mutant culture/population that the Marvel Universe does (well, did until the "no more mutants" thing), it doesn't mean this is a bad idea or anything, just, the idea of them being a multi city organization that's expanded into Freedom, and they all have mutant superpowers, it stretches things. If they're a national crime syndicate all of mutants who have influence across whole cities, that basically is a mutant army that you have to populate the world with. Or at least the United States.

Again, local rising organization or mutant themed criminal enforcement arm with awarded territory, both cool. This other thing, not so much.

  3. Well, as refs we kinda have to know. "I may or may not decide my npc organization takes over all the crime in Freedom" is a bit big. Basically, they're cool as a possibly rising criminal presence in the west end, or a wider spanning group that performs a specialized service for others. Anything beyond that you really need to talk out with us and spell out what your plan is here.

  4. Basically, if they're this massively powerful crime family overseeing huge chunks of the city's underworld under their aegis, well, that's something of a huge setting change and a bit too big of a deal to just throw in there, honestly.

If they're Murder Incorporated with superpowers (and the piece of the action they have in West Freedom is like their reward for being such), that fits pretty seamlessly with existing stuff.

If they're an up and coming criminal organization trying to get a piece of the city's crime for itself, that's also fine.

  5. You might want to shift them then to instead of being some kind of widespread crime family (as, really, there are a bunch as is) to the created enforcement arm of the existing ones, like Murder Incorporated, but with superpowers.

  6. Daedelus crinkles his brow.

"That's not quite exactly how such events flowed, Egypt long lost its grip on the Mediterranean before Greece could have been called a dominant power, for one thing."

He had, it must be said, a proprietary interest in the accuracy of history. After all, he had lived quite a bit of it. Still, he managed to stop himself before he went into full "Civlization: A lecture series" mode.

"All the same, it's a sound core principle. A braintrust for societal progression eh?"

  7. Okay, I know it's April/May and we're hitting the slowdown we usually do, but I'd like to get this up and out now just to get a move on developing it.

The notion: Your character wakes up from a night's sleep, turns a street corner, or even just blinks.. and suddenly the world's gone all wrong.

The city looks like it's turned into some mass Ren Fair, redone as a high medieval settlement, everyone walking around like it's perfectly normal, chattering about the day's business in archaic and stilted sounding English.

The place isn't even called Freedom City anymore, everyone around you talking about "Freedom's Reach" or something.

Just when you think you've gone completely crazy.. hey, there's Captain Thunder flying overhead! Okay, that's still normal, maybe you can ask him for... and he's wearing chainmail. And his hair is long enough that he could be on the cover of a romance novel. And he's shouting "I say thee nay!" at.. yup, that's a dragon he's flying off to fight. A dragon.

I'm looking for a group of pl 10 or higher heroes to deal with being in a place that seems to have overdosed on too many issues of the Mighty Thor and Conan the Barbarian.

The basic notions will be trying to sort out what the heck happened, ocassional fight based misunderstandings, and dealing with being modern superheroes in a medieval fantasy world.

Oh, and no, you don't need Warriors and Warlocks for this at all, I'm just using a few things from it from a GM perspective.
