Heridfel
The throwing knife clatters on the step. It is definitely solid now, as definitely as it wasn't a moment earlier. If Nightrival reaches out to grab the knife back, the stair disappears and the knife falls into... something. There's no sound of it hitting ground anywhere, and if he pulls his hand back, the stair returns once again to its regular wooden seeming. Link to comment

Shadowboxer
"Hey! Those things don't grow on trees!" exclaims Nightrival as he watches his knife fall into the eerie abyss under the stairs. Now more determined than ever, and slightly aggravated at having one of his throwing knives be swallowed up by architecture, Nightrival crouches low then springs up into the air, in hopes of passing over the staircase and land into the adjoining hallway. Using his powerful leg muscles, he propels himself twenty feet in a single leap. Link to comment

Heridfel
Nightrival clears the stair that gave him pause, as well as all of the others remaining up to the next floor. As he lands, he feels like he's about to sink through the floor. The sensation only lasts for a second, but it is very disconcerting after what he just saw. Before he has a moment to relax, he sees a shadowy form charging at him from the hallway, seeking to knock him back. Nightrival can just barely see through it, so it cannot be an ordinary man. Warmonger
Sen felt his heart lurch in his chest as he narrowly avoided his fall. He chided himself for a fool. He had grown careless. Shadowboxer
"Do you see anything up there?" Nightrival scans the hallway. "Nah, all I see is . . . whoa!" he suddenly exclaims, "there's a ghost up here!" He nearly leaps out of his costume when he sees the shadowy figure barreling towards him. Still disorientated from nearly plunging into a yawning abyss, causing his legs to lightly wobble from the nightmare of falling forever into nothingness, Nightrival manages to regain his tenacity. His arms and legs become sturdy yet flexible like bamboo. Nightrival goes into a cat stance and stares down the spectre. "Let's dance, Casper." Link to comment

Heridfel
The spectre continues to come at Nightrival, but when it collides with him, Nightrival's in for a shock. Though he can see through it, it feels as substantial as any normal person - maybe even more. It's trying to knock him backwards onto the stairs, where who knows what might happen. Link to comment

Shadowboxer
As the apparition slams into Nightrival, he instinctively slides one foot behind him to brace for impact, tenses his shoulders and raises his hands to ensnare his new opponent. Weeks drilling with a Krav Maga specialist suddenly sharpens his reaction to the surprise assault. Although the brunt of the attack is absorbed, Nightrival's bones rattle from the momentum as well as fear. Without a moment's delay, he pivots his torso and clamps down on what he thinks are the ghostly figure's wrists. Link to comment

Warmonger
Startled at Nightrival's shout Sen gathers himself and leaps up the stairs. His feet land on the wall as he runs by Nightrival. HE gets only a brief glance of the ghostly form that Nightrival' is wrestling with. He checks his sword fearing to lash out with his ally so close. Link to comment
