  1. "Nothing specific, actually," Tenebrous shook her head, "I was given an address and some directions. This place isn't even near the place I was told to go." She smiled big, "I guess we head them off at the pass?" She chuckled and looked over to Crow, "Well, that is certainly one way to deal with things." She floated in a lotus style position as she watched the interrogation. "The Freedom League says it takes all kinds," she nodded, "but to not go overboard." She sighed a little bit confused, "I know I have my stopping point. What about this guy?"
  2. "Well, it look like we have plenty of witnesses," Tenebrous smiled at Farridah. Watching Crow drag the conscious Crusader over to the giant trashbin and then huck him in it was something she'd call a lesson. Sure their were nice ways to go about things, but some needed less social finesse. Taking stock of Crow, he seemed to be in the same age bracket as her. Maybe they could compare notes after this thing is done? Tenebrous turned to King of Suits when he addressed her and shook her head. "No, actually I am here on 'official business'. Someone tip me off about racial gang violence. I came here to investigate. I really do not know this city that well, but I have good tracking skills. It is a big place here." She stopped talking and smiled, "Sorry about that, I am rambling."
  3. Tenebrous nodded to King of Suits. She didn't expect others to give their real names. She was just giving the heroic citizen a bit more leeway in the department of names. Though it seemed this citizen was more than met the eye. After Crow was suited up and introduced himself, she grinned, "It is nice of you to join us, Crow." She looked to both men, "Well, it look like we have a neighborhood watch. I think you are in The Fens for the same reason as I? Nasty hateful people doing nasty hateful things?" She pointed to the ground, "Like these fellows." Tenebrous faced the Crusader after he cried out for mercy. Her outline sucked in more light than usual as she floated enough to see the man eye to eye, "He does belong here though. He pay his rent and bills just like any other. We all deserve a chance, right? No matter who we are. As long as we don't hurt anyone not hurting anyone else!" She sighed and pulled her hair back, stepping away from the Crusader. A thought ran through her mind like a light bulb going off. She turned back to the talkative Crusader, "How many groups of you are out here tonight? Where are the rest of you?"

Her wardrobe consisted what was ever popular at the time. When Halxofyq'ta'maswx took her body she remained the same, but it removed Cindy from her former life. The once striking image now looks disheveled and chaotic. She/It has some followers but no one thinks Cindy is Cindy whenever she appears. Power Descriptions: Subtle manipulations of the min. That's all. Or is it? No one's actually "felt" what Halxofyq'ta'maswx's power feels like. They are overloaded with bad and or changed memories. History: This is a tale of two people. One a selfish girl who got everything she wanted. The other of a demon lord who worked for everything it got. Cindy Hane was born rich. That wasn't the problem at all. The problem was that Cindy was never told "No". Cindy got what she wanted. She was a spoiled rotten child and a hellion on top of it. You could basically buy her attention if you had something she wanted. If her manipulative ways didn't work then she'd most likely have a fit in some manner. She was not a very nice person to be around when she had her fits. Everyone paid for it. Unfortunately, Cindy's last fit would be the "end" of her. She was interested in occult lore at the time and wanted a personal pet demon. She couldn't find anyone who wanted to participate in her ritual. So she did it herself. Not knowing what half the things she was supposed to be doing she went through the motions angry. What was supposed to be an obedient demon servant turned out to be Halxofyq'ta'maswx. The demon lord looked into her soul and saw a perfect host body for this trip to the mortal realm. Halxofyq'ta'maswx eliminated every bit of Cindy metaphysically. The only thing that was left were Cindy's body... and her memories. Halxofyq'ta'maswx was in total control of her now. Halxofyq'ta'maswx's story is a bit simpler. It started out as a lowly servant demon, through power plays and manipulative subterfuge it wracked up title after title, leaving a bloody swath across the hellish landscape.   5. Tenebrous watched as the plain clothes hero easily disarmed the rest of the standing Crusaders. She was about to raid down on them again, but they looked like they wanted to surrender. Which was good, but was that all of them? Twelve people on one guy? That didn't even look like Zita's grandchild they were attacking. She flew downwards, sstill keeping her guard up and walked towards the two other. "Good evening," she curtsied to King of Suits then to Crow. Looking at Crow with a smile, she crossed her arms, "I am assuming you know my name as I shout it out when you took the first Crusader's knife? But then I do not have your name," she looked over to King, "or your name either." She looked around defensively as the others tied up the criminals, as if she was expecting more to pop out at any moment. "My name is Tenebrous, Lady of Darkness." She smiled at Crow again, "You can call me Lilian."

  7. Heroes were popping out of the woodworks, it seemed, but that didn't deter Tenebrous from the fight. Zita's grandbabies would be safe. She whistled down to the group of Crusaders, "It seems like you are surrounded." She grinned, "Now you have two option. You can either run away like the scared little boys you are or you can end up like that guy," she points to the one she knocked silly, "or those guys," she motions to the ones King of Suits put down, "Or those guys." Tenebrous targets four of the Crusaders standing all pretty in a row. Black beams fall on their heads like some entropic rain.

The West End is so ethnically diverse, if you walked long enough you could find anyone who could speak your language. Still, Lilian was proud of her little nook. She was proud of her job also. Zita had heard there was gang type violence going on over there, but this time her grandchildren had actually been tipped off about an attack by some group named The Crusaders. Zita explained that The Crusaders were no ordinary gang they were a bunch of white people who hated anyone not white. Lilian too Zita's plea to heart and said she would investigate personally. That night around 10 o'clock, Lilian became Tenebrous. The costume was pretty generic, but it was her costume. She was proud of it. Off into the air towards The Fens she went. Though, an hour had past since she started searching and nothing had came up. She was wondering if this was the wrong night. Or worse, if she had missed the whole thing. Her reluctance was shattered when she heard a scream for help! Tenebroud flew into action! The was a good dozen of them there! Also there was another hero! Tenebrous followed up Crow's daring swoop with a dark blast at the mugger. "You pick the wrong night, crackheads," Tenebrous proclaimed triumphantly, "Now you face Tenebrous, Lady of Darkness." History: Lilian's mother was in Freedom City when the Terminus Invasion happened. She happened to be pregnant with Lilian then, so when she was accidentally doused with Terminus energy so was Lilian. No one was aware of it either. The side effects of Terminus energy were not known. So when her mother went back home, she didn't know she was carrying a Terminus baby. Lilian lived a normal life. She was a vibrant happy child who made lots of friends. On her fourteenth birthday she began to show signs of her "heritage" imediately. Her flight manifested first. She woke up that morning sleeping on the roof. She was scared at first, then confused about the whole black outline surrounding her. Confusion gave way to joy as sheflew around the house. Her mother was scared that her child was possessed by the devil and called a priest. Nothing came out of the consultation and no exorcism was needed. The priest remarked that he would want to see Lilian again. Lilian was too overjoyed to stick around anyway. She flew out the door and away to school. Her friends were impressed. The news was impressed when they called. Sudeenly Lilian was a getting her fifteen minutes of fame. Unfortunately she had some bad influences in that. She was sent to prison for four years, but got out in two for good behavior. She went into seclusion after that. She didn't want to be with anyone anymore, she thought she would hurt them!     Uriel flew into the church with gusto. She crashed though the front door. and the parishoners scattered left and right, some running, for the door others hiding under pew or against the walls. One man stood in defiance, Father Vincent May. Also the robed hooded figures hadn't moved yet. He commanded them to rise with a hand gesture. Uriel knew she was outnumbered. "Angel of the Lord," Mays said, "you seem to have lost your way. May we convince you to join our convention?" Uriel snarled something that sounded like a no. She knew this would be suicide. She had to get some help. The Magdalene Torch spoke to her. "There is someone nearby who can help. His name is Gabriel. He is a Holy Warrior like you." With a smile, Father Mays seemed to be listening in on the conversation, "Run, go get all the help you want. I'll be waiting." In a trail of celetial power Uriel took off to the Southside as the Magdalene Torch told her to do so.

    Later that night Dr Hendricks was just Melissa. They had all came to hear about how the demon lord Forcus could empower them. The turnout was quite healthy, it seemed that they had recruited for this meeting from more than just the college. there was a good thirty to thirty-five people there of all ages, from college age all the way to elders. The scene looked pretty eloquent too. It was in a basement, but saying it was a basement was an understatement, it was more like a temple under a house. There were peto the left and the right, parted by a black softcarpet runway. The runway went from the double door entrance all the way back to thestage. While the stage did have a podium (which had an inscription in Hebrew of the seven sins), there was no choir behind it. Seven robed and hooded indiviuals were sitting on their knees, facing the crowd. When Melissa scanned them, they did in fact have demonic taint all in their souls. Now she was intrigued. Thirty minutes later, everyone was seated and waiting for the man of the hour. "Father" Vincent Mays. The self proclaimed founder of the feast and direct line to Forcus's amazing power. Vincent did not disappoint either. The man's infernal reading is off the chart! It's like he's a walking shard of infernalness! Vincent was a very charismatic speaker. Melissa took mental notes of everything said. Histories of Forcus's power. How the sick were made whole, how the old young, how the lonely would never be alone. All they had to do was put their loyalty to Forcus. He would show someone just a taste of Focus's power. He pointed to an elderly couple. and called them up. Ruth said that she had been hurting for years and just wished to go back to a time when there was no hurting. Vincent questioned her faith in Forcus. She said she wanted to believe. Vincent assured her that was good enough. He touched her forehead and a seal appeared on it. Then she began to regress in age. She lost sixty years right before the eyes of the audience. Everyone was in shock and awe, ESPECIALLY Melissa. This was not good at all. While everyone was lining up to sign up for this new religion, Melissa slipped out unnoticed. "Did you see that," she whispered. "Indeed," the voice of the Magdalene Torch spoke to her mentally, "you have to dispatch this blasphemy of false hope." Melissa's body began to burn away everything that was on it. What was incinerated in the celestial power was replaced by a holy golden armor and great flaming wings! Melissa she was no more, Uriel was on the clock!

Well, she was just a mild mannered archeologist, minding her own business one say when she found an artifact while digging. Taking hold of the artifact gave her holy powers. Only the people who were on that digsite know that Dr Hendricks has the power to turn into Uriel, bearer of the flame of the Magdalene Torch! And they have promised to keep quiet about it. She quietly retired from her beloved profession to teach history and defend the innocents. The scene shows Melissa talking to the class she's teaching. They're the subject of the ancient middle east, her particular field of study and something she has very close to her heart. Quesions left and right of which she was proud to answer, but there is always one clockwatcher. He points out that it's time to leave and the students being not really interestd in stayin, leave post haste The scene then turns to some students talking about a meeting they plan to attend. One of them mentions meeting a real live demon who will grant them powers. No one believes him, but he offers them an ultimatum. Come to the meeting and if nothing happens, he buys the booze for the next party. All of it. Melissa happens to overhear this conversation and approaches the group. The student smiles and hands her a flier. She can tell he's nervous. She assures him this is not a school activity so she can't grade him on it. The group laughs. Secretly she checks all the students in this little group and non of them have infernal taint on them. Good to know. Maybe this is a hoax, demons are big interest things. Getting powers would attract anyone. But Melissa is not in it for the power, she's going to see what's going on there.

The torchwood was warm to the touch. Somehow, against her better judgement, she picked up the object. The wood was weighty, but when she tried to put it down is when it spoke to her. "Melissa Hendricks," it said to her. "You are about to be judged by the Magdalene Torch." She was shocked, and to be quite honest, honored. That's when Melissa went up in flames. Her whole body was subsumed by the fire. It Seemed to be reeling through her very soul! When it was done, the torch was gone and so was her clothes! I was replaced by a golden and type suit and fiery wings. She almost expected a halo to appear. The torch spoke to her. "You have been found worth to carry the torch of the Magdalene. You shall defend the people from the evils of Hell." Automatically knowing what to do, the torch disappeared and Melissa looked around. There were no infernals or celestials here.
