  1. Actually, you're right, they do cost the same. I was having a math-challenged evening yesterday. That said, I think I do prefer the container route. Thanks.
  2. So, I'm still new with the UP, and had a question about containers and arrays. Can you have a container that includes an array? Why, you ask? Well, I'm looking to make a telepath/telekinetic. My plan was to make a fairly typical array for his TK, with one of the effects being Force Field. However, I've decided I want him to have access to the Force Field regardless of what other TK effects he has access to from the array. Obviously the easiest way to do this is to purchase force field as a completely separate power, but I like the flavor that if someone drains or nullifies his TK ability, it takes everything down (I know, it hurts the min/maxer inside me). My next thought was to simply add force field as an effect to the main power and every AP of the array. This works, but turns out to actually cost more than the first option, which is actually a more 'powerful' option. So, I thought what about putting the array inside a container. Basically, you'd have the Telekinesis Container, which contains Force Field and the Telekinesis Array which would have Move Object, and a few other alternate powers. Is this doable within the rules? I don't think it breaks anything, or is too powerful, but still being new to the UP, I'm not necessarily able to foresee all of the ramifications.
  3. So, I've noticed that there are quite a few mystic/magic themed heroes here, and thought it might be kinda cool to form a 'supergroup' of sorts with a mystic bent. Unlike a 'typical' supergroup, this would be more of an 'on-call' type of team, akin to the old Marvel Defenders. The idea is a group of like minded mystic heroes who have each other on speed-dial or the like, and occasionally band together to take care of mystic menaces too great for them to defeat on their own. One potential thought is that they are somehow associated with Adrian Eldritch; perhaps he got them together to help him handle threats that he can't, or is unable to take care of himself. Anyway, just a thought.

  6. Surprised that the fabled Sword of the Seraph has no effect on his foe, Max thrusts it again, but the strange yammerings of the villian's multiple personalities distracts him for a split second and he misses.

  12. Max instinctively dodges out of the way of his foe's wild swing, ducking his head at the last second. His eyes continue to glow red, but with less intensity as he adjusts his vision to detect mystical auras. His sight confirming his suspicion, he plunges the Sword of the Seraph directly into the stomach of his attacker, "Now you've really pissed me off!"

  15. RIght, but my understanding is that since the sword is both mystical and a melee weapon, it's a trigger for both Karsus and Savnok, causing a 'Persona Overload'. And if I decide to go with his only other attack option (Hellfire Control) it'll do the same between Karsus and Amon. At least, that's how I understand your powers anyway. Actually, using Fearsome Presence was his action. My understanding is that it doesn't require line-of-sight since an 'intimidating threat' can be used as the trigger (though confirmation from a GM would be helpful) and based on my understanding of the situation, Persona is within 50' of Max (if necessary, I can use a move action to get closer to make sure).

  18. Ok, he is using Fearsome Presence, DC:20 Will Save. Also, as you might have guessed all of his powers (including the Fearsome Presence) have the magical descriptor so that will likely affect your persona (as well as the sword).

  21. Glancing down at his friend lying on the floor, only one thought comes to Max's mind, F***! Turning back to the now open door, his eyes begin to glow a sinister red, the contour of his face seems to become more angular and less human. His voice, no longer sounding human, but instead a deep, demonic bass, echoes, "Whoever you are, you have F***ed with the WRONG bastard! I suggest you drop whatever it is you've stolen and cower out of there; or I'll personnaly deliver you to hell!" Grabbing the hilt of his sword with both hands, Max waits patiently for his opponent's response.
