  1. Should I wait until Geckoman and Quark are done their scene, Or should I just start bugging Geckoman for a ride? I don't want to muddle up the thread, but it seems fitting that Geckoman, being already involved, should give me a lift.

  2. High Note (and Shadow Man?) and Jos, the Thursday before (Sept 24th), Mid-Day, Riverside Park

Gordy nods and walks back toward the other students, calling everyone to him before telling them all in no uncertain terms to be more careful, they may have been spotted. Unless they want everyone to know who they are, in which case he isn't going to stop them. The super-teen then excuses himself, telling everyone he's going to go look at the Sentry statue. Really he's just looking for an excuse to clear his head. There were a few problems with what he had agreed to. Like, not knowing anything about the man who wanted to meet with High Note, and the fact that so far no one else knew. Though perhaps his biggest problem would be how he was going to get back to Riverside Park after dinner. On a school night. 'I can't very well take the bus in my costume. I'm gonna need a ride. But from who? Heck, I'm not entirely sure who has a car. Doesn't one of the new guys have a ship?' "Geckoman. Wonder if he'd help me."

  3. Ah, so the same day, right?

Aug 24th, 2008: Warren McCue, also known as Leviathan, and Lady Iconica run into each other while Warren is waiting for a taxi at the airport. While talking, Lullaby and Quark approach and join in the conversation. They four, plus a late-to-the-party Geckoman, all board a bus to the Claremont Academy.(A Windy Day at Jordan International Airport)

Geckoman, Echi Haimura, Ionica, Leviathan, Lullaby, and Quark all arrive at and settle in to the Claremont Academy, just in time for classes to start. High Note helps to welcome them. (Welcome to Claremont Academy)

Later that day, High Note undergoes his Placement Test at Claremont. (Shaking Off the Cobwebs)

    That work?

Yes, that is correct, according to the RPs of that day.

  4. Gordy's actors instincts(and the knowledge that he used the easiest code ever to break) allow him to smirk and play along with the weirdo. If you didn't want a would be, then mister did you end up landing the wrong fish.

"No of course not. Someone could be hurt. Best leave it to the costumes. They train for this after all. I doubt they'd ever throw themselves into a situation head first unless they knew all of the details. But as I said, they tend to be here at around sundown. Lets say...7 o'clock. You really do need to listen Mr. Jos. The guy I know doesn't like having to repeat himself."

  5. "Oh, crap. We've been spotted" "Look, I don't know what you think you see, but trust me you didn't see it. And you definitely aren't going to talk about it in the middle of a public park. Understand? Now I don't know who or what you think I am, but maybe I can put in a few calls to some people I know in the costume business. They usually hang out here around sundown."

"Oh, I'm gonna get in trouble for this one. And I am going to yell like never before when I find out who's cutting trees."

  6. High Note (and Shadow Man?), the Thursday before (Sept 24th)

"Dateline? That is some sort of dating programme? I am sorry, we do not have many of those in the Netherlands," he replies, looking quite serious. "As for why I am seeking freelance help: my problem is not so big as to require something of the Freedom League's caliber, and the police have already proven unhelpful. Probably in part because I am new in town, and they perhaps think I am overreacting, or that is is something I stepped into myself, or because they are too busy going after more serious problems."

"My problem, you see," he starts, then pauses to look around, then starts back, "is some rather disagreeable men who are starting up a, I believe the term is, 'protection racket.' They have been warning people in the area of troubles ahead if we do not pay them protection moneys. I am expecting some large shipments to arrive soon, for my shoppe, and I have a suspicion that they are going to try and either steal or destroy my incoming wares, to 'prove' how 'dangerous' the neighborhood is."

"Sooooooo, you're trying to get people embroiled in a gang war? Which side are you, Sharks or Jets?" Gordy shakes his head. "Nevermind. That still doesn't fully explain why you keep staring at me and my friends. Actually, it doesn't even begin to explain that. Unless in...where ever you're from teenagers in a park tend to double as hired guns. Really, what makes you so willing to spill the beans to a 15 year old?"

  7. High Note & Shadow Man, the Thursday before (Sept 24th)

"That remains to be seen, young man," he replied, fairly coolly and with a noticeable but not readily identifiable foreign accent. "Terhune is the name, Jos (Yos) Terhune. I am a local businessman who is in the unenviable position of having attracted some trouble. I had sent out some 'feelers' into the heroic community, hoping for some Good Samaritan to come to my aid. I left note indicating that I would be in this park, at this time every day this week, wearing this outfit, so that a prospective protector could meet me on neutral territory. When I saw you and your friends over there," he nodded towards the other Claremonters, "I thought I had seen a few of them look my way, as if checking to see if I matched the description I gave in my little 'want ad'. I do apologize if I was mistaken and inadvertently caused any discomfort."

Took you long enough to take the bait, he thought. Now let's see how much you'll nibble.

Gordy give the man an incredulous stare. "O.K. let me get this straight. You come to the park, wearing an outfit that makes you stand out, and stare at teenagers? Do they not have Dateline in your country? Most people would count that as a bad idea." Gordy sighs and makes the ASL sign for 'whatever'(one of about 6 signs he knows). The man had said his name, and they were at the park. Probably is what he says he is. Still, Gordy saw no need to tip his hand as a powered individual. "Besides, what could be so bad that you're looking for free-lance heroes, but not going to the police or the League?"

  8. Gordy can't help but notice that the man is now not even pretending not to look over at him and his friends. He heaves a sigh, rolls his eyes and announces to the group at large, "I'll handle this." Gordy stands up and strides over to the man, confident with just a touch of annoyance. If the man was going to make Gordy uncomfortable, he'd return it in spades. "Like what you see?" Gordy asks loudly.

  9. 'Crap. Called my bluff. I wonder if that new girl is still here.' "Oh, yes, a demonstration. Well, let me see, who isn't dancing. I find a good place to look is near the food tables. Boredom and food, hand in hand." Gordy scans the room looking for Lullaby, fairly certain he can get her to agree to dance. But that's when his eyes settled on Changeling. 'Well, this is a good opportunity' Gordy smiled at the guys around him and walked up to Changeling. "Hey, you want to dance?"

  10. Gordy was used to being stared at, though not while at the park with a group of friends. He found it unsettling. Trying to be nonchalant, Gordy checks to makes sure his quick mask is in his satchel. It was something he had learned from Mr. Summers. 'Even if they see you change, they likely didn't memorize your features first.' It was there, under a script for Company. Gordy steals another glance toward the man. He still seemed to be looking over in his direction, though not at Gordy himself. He seemed to be looking over at the footballers. Gordy, making sure the keep his back turned on the man so he would have a harder time hearing him, projected a question to the rest of the group. "Anybody else think that guy in the wooden shoes is looking at us?"

  11. Gordy hangs back from asking Changeling to dance to try and help the new kid out. The first slow dance of the night was always a little awkward, but has to be doubly or triply bad for the kid who didn't even use contractions in every day speech. "Well, first things first, relax. If you seem on edge it's going to be very off putting. Second thing, look around at who isn't already dancing, and see who keeps looking at the dance floor. That means they probably want to dance, but no one has asked them. Third, smile when you ask. Just try not to leer."

  12. Gordy looked at the party going on around him, and smiled. So far so good. But still, he thought it could be better. 'Maybe a slow dance. Slow dances can be fun.' The teen party planner goes over to the DJ and whispers a few words. The man nods and when the current song finishes up he starts up with slow dance classic "She Don't Know She's Beautiful." As the flashing lights cut out and the room takes on a more romantic lighting, Gordy smiles. 'Probably for the best the fog machine didn't work. Would have killed the ambiance of this moment.'

  13. Gordy listens to the news and looks annoyed for a second before shrugging his shoulders? "Well, what can you do? I can ask around to see if there's another bottle of it somewhere, but the parties already underway. And I doubt you want to spend a party fixing an old fog machine. Personally, I think it's time to dance!" Gordy suits actions to words and begins swiveling and gyrating in an exuberant dance that in no way matches the beat of the current song, drawing some looks from the newer students and eye rolls of recognition from those who already know him.

  14. Gordy surveyed the party, particularly the comings and goings. He noticed when someone came in dressed as the old Raven, and after a few seconds recognized him as one of the two guys he had seen arguing in the beginning of the school year. Didn't they have biology together? Ever the gracious host, Gordy walks over.

"The original Raven eh? You make it yourself?"

  15. I would like, If I may, to add two points to add a rank to high notes force field, a rank to his sonic control(with corresponding increase in the APs) and 1 point to all 4 of his perform skills.

  16. Gordy stepped out from the mens locker room about 20 minutes later, into a party that looked like it wanted to start. The DJ had set up and was playing a rap song Gordy didn't recognize, and more of the student body had shown up. No one was really on the dance floor yet, but that's was to be expected. It was still early. Gordy smiled though as he looked down at his costume. Once again he had donned the image of a french peasant boy from the revolution. Despite being in the play, Gordy still wasn't sure which of the revolutions, but he looked convincing, and that was all that mattered. The head of the dance committee walks over to the DJ to grab a mic and officially start the party.

"Hi everyone, and welcome to the Halloween Dance! Tonight is gonna be awesome, and I hope everyone is taking the time to look at all the awesome costumes. We'll be giving out a prize for best costume, best pairs or group costume, and a special one for best teacher costume. But first, we have to play a traditional song. It's terrible, but you love it, admit it."

With a nod, the DJ switches songs over to the Monster Mash. There are some groans, but most people smile, and proceed to block it out.
