As he flew, Jann once more was able to take a full look at the battlefield. His senses were sharp, but in combat even he had to focus on what was around him, he could not focus on everything at once all the time. But now, in the short break, he scanned the forest. Only one enemy remained.

So, as he flapped his wings, he turned on his own axis, into a corkscrew of some sort. And then, his quarterstaff, significantly shorter than before. It spun, thrown like a boomerang, turning slightly as it connected with the bound warrior’s back, striking him to the ground.

Moments afterwards, the Avian landed where he had left his first quarterstaff, before joining up with the group after one more short flight. There, he stretched and took a moment to move his shoulder around, having received a hit earlier. He looked at the others and spoke, his breath a bit heavier than before.

“Nice work.”

Rosethorn could finally start to relax. As far as she could tell, anyone that could squeak like a cheap chew toy was either knocked out or tangled in enough plant matter they could not hope to escape. "Yeah, You too as well guys." She said, massaging the side of her neck and feeling an earlier blow to her back. It would heal up in a while, faster if she had the sun. Still weird I actually need that thing. Its going to be murder on my skin.

She surveyed the scene one more time. She did not want anything else jumping out at her. "You do know we were joking about the enemy selection right?" She asked.

Gargoyle landed next to Lilly, shaking himself, unsure how he actually got hurt in this combat.  Hadn't happened before to him, bullets usually just bounced off. "That was definitely interesting, though I am curious that Godzilla wasn't incorporated... unless you plan on another enemy and us shrinking."  Gargoyle shook a little, the tiny bruise on his arm irritating him slightly.  "Have to admit, the fight was fun, you guys were so impressive though.  Controlling plants on one end and tanking blows like they were nothing on the other, even whilst using a quarterstaff and flying!  All so cool to watch."

Jann made sure the others didn’t have any significant and visible injuries on a quick glance, then listened to them speak. He took a step backwards, planting his staff in the ground once more. Then, he spoke, sounding a bit embarrassed even.

“Oh. “

He grabbed his staff again, and looked up at the ceiling of trees above, as if he was expecting something. “This changes this slightly. “ A long pause, a quick look at the others again. “Wait for it…”

And then, even louder than before, a massive, really low pitch squeak. The noise of trees breaking in the distance. And loud thumps, spaced out over only a second each, becoming louder. Jann had reverted to a more neutral expression. His staff went back onto his waist as he ascended above the heads of the others, flying in place for now, speaking quietly.

“Ready for this? Not over just yet. Can always stop, but no challenge in that. “

"I like your style Jann!" Gargoyle says as he flies up alongside Jann, trying to see what is coming this way.  He can hear it, but he just can't figure out where it is.  What is he even lookin... never mind, he found it.  He gets ready for combat and goes into a combat stance once more.

"Hey Lilly, looks like there's some more coming this way.  Get ready." Gargoyle growls out.  He saw something huge, though when he first heard the squeaks he figured it was something huge anyway.  This was a bit bigger than expected.  "You guys normally fight stuff this large?"

And just like that Lilly tensed up, jaw dropping from that loud, all too familiar sound. For a moment i looked like the vines on her arms were starting to turn yellow, but now they were bright green once more and ready to bring pain.Really doing this after all. She looked back over an Jahn for a second.

"Uh, Jahn? Didn't you say you did not put in Godzilla?" It took a bit of effort not to start yelling at the Avian. "I haven't fought anything bigger than a rubber duck wolf, let alone something that big."

The sound of trees snapping like twigs in the distance became ever loud. It appeared as if the trees surrounding the group had become more dense, something that would’ve been a lot scarier outside of a simulation. But nevertheless, the sounds continued, being carried through the air, the sheet force of their waves enough to make the smallest twigs move.

Stomp. Stomp. Squeak.

Jann remained in mid-air, grabbing his quarterstaff, his eyes peeled into the distance, the rough direction of the sound. The darkness between the trees was thick, seeing things through it was not easy. “Godzilla, no. But, there was a thing similar.”

Stomp. Squeak. Stomp.

“Any second. “ Jann’s wings nearly stopped, moving just barely enough to keep him on the same altitude. The sounds got louder, louder, louder. And then…

SNAP.

And with that, a bunch of trees to the south of the teens, where the noise had been coming from, broke. And, as the dust settled, they saw a long line of trees, almost straight, all being broken, the trees all collapsed to the side. The line lasting all the way to the horizon, where they could catch the last glimmers of sunlight. And, in the middle, a figure, about 12 ft. tall. It looked similar to the enemies the group had fought before, but instead of green fur, it’s hide was scales, in a deeper green.

It opened its mouth, revealing a nasty set of very, very big teeth. And it roared, it was even louder up close. And with that, it was ready to fight.

Rosethorn clutched her ears in pain as the monsters roar ripped through the air. Soon it was drowned out by a loud whine of deafening silence. Wincing, she looked at the mismatched monster. She had to remind her self how ridiculous this whole thing was. Not thinking clearly from the pain, Lilly rushed forward and put a lot more force into her punch as her thorn covered fist smashed into the monsters leg. Unfortunately like the few times she tried to hit its smaller brethren, her attack merely bounced off its shin with a weak, amusing squeak.

In hindsight, probably not the greatest tactical move.

Rubber Ducky Werewolf Viking Godzilla was quite the beast. Lilly pummelling on its leg did not seem to affect it much, it barely flinched. And, worst of all, it didn’t even pay her any attention. Its eyes were fixed on the Gargoyle. It didn’t need to move to keep him in its view. It just stood there. Then, it opened its mouth. And, at the same time, it started to glow. Was there any noise? Who knows, the only thing the teens could hear was ringing.

And then, everything went bright. A ray of blue energy shot from the monster’s gaping maw. Quite a large one, at least a few feet in diameter. And it shot towards the Gargoyle. Quick on his feet/wings, even without any hearing he was able to dodge to the side. Not a full dodge, but the centre of the ray missed, and whatever else actually hit him wasn’t nearly strong enough to affect the teen’s rock body.

Sensing an opportunity at seeing the monster charge it’s beam, Jann immediately took flight. He moved in to flank, and once the beam began, took his chance. Quarterstaff in hand he took a quick, audible breath. And then, he shot off, at the top of his speed, in a straight line, right towards the head of the monster towering above the forest.

Impact. Recoil.  Immediate follow-up. One hit after another, all directed straight into the giant’s temple. Thrust. Smash. Kick. Thrust. The Avian placed blow after blow, each executed with finesse, each hitting the same tiny spot he had slammed into staff first. And then, after a good two seconds of attacks, the sound of something deflating. The Godzilla-like creature toppled to the side. Slowly, like a tree being felled. After another second, it hit the ground, sending a shockwave around the area.  Still floating 5 meters above the ground, slowly descending and breathing heavily, Jann.

Lilly was left in awe of Janns assault on the giant monster, even as she struggled to stay on her feet following its fall to the ground. Silence fulled the air, until the teen plant controller broke it. "Wow. OK, that was awesome Jann." She looked around for a moment before focusing on her arms. The vines sloughed off into piles of dead plant matter. The thorns withered, the toxins weakening until it was nothing more than a colourless liquid. A touch would turn them to a fine crumbling brown powder. Disappointment crossed her mind. Even with her incredible strength a punch to the face could barely stagger most of them, let alone that thing.

There was a pause before she looked back up to the victorious Avian once more, though this time with suspicion in her eyes. "....You didn't set up any more giants for us to fight right?"

"That was awesome Jann!  How did you know where it's weak point was?  Your accuracy was astonishing!"  Gargoyle squeed with the amount of awesome in that moment, Jann just going into a zen mode of beating that thing down.

"Now I see why you weren't very worried, you could easily handle it."  Gargoyle looked around at the bodies lying around the ground, all looking like deflated balloons.  "I only wish they weren't as annoying while going down.  Otherwise, this would've been much more awesome."  All Gargoyle could smell around him was the rubber and fur, as well as a small hint of earth, birds and trees.  It was only then he noticed his ears were still ringing a small bit from the monster's roar.

What followed was quite a strange experience, especially for those who had not previously experienced it. First, everything went a bit darker than before. Then, things started to simply dissipate. And within a second, the three teens were inside the Doom Room once more.

Jann continued to slowly float downwards. He had already collapsed his quarterstaff and put it back onto his waist, and was now holding his right shoulder. He looked upwards, then at the other two. “Time to head out of the door. Will pass next round. “

Back inside the observation deck, the first thing Jann did was grab his towel, and hold it on his face. But, before he could really get to doing it, the supervisor approached the group. He looked quite impressed. “What was that just now? We’ve got the recording and the performance values. I’ll forward them to your teachers, they’ll want to see that. “

Jann pulled the towel from his face, looking rather unimpressed. He pulled forward a chair, turning around and sitting down in one smooth motion, pulling out his phone before turning his attention to the other two. “Still have a lot of time. Want to go another round? Without me, I can spectate and help afterwards. “

And then it was gone. Lilly felt oddly better not being in that fake forest. She looked down and double checked her costume for wear and tear. ...Hm, held up pretty well. She looked back at Jann and shook her head. "Na. I think that's enough excitement for one day. Besides, I still need to read up on some things."  Her hand hit her ear and she winced. There was still a faint bit of ringing in them. If it did not fade after a few minutes she was worried she would go insane.

"It was pretty fun though. Might try this again soon or something."
