Nifty.  Any preferences on how I bring Leviathan in?  I don't think there's any clear gang activity already in progress that he could see from the street, so he's probably roaming around as a regular Morphed human like usual.  Full Leviathan would make it difficult to get around unnoticed; he usually waits until he knows he needs it before he ducks into cover and transforms.

Thanks for running my first game, by the way.

Huh.  I thought you had to roll your Defense as well when you were attacked, to be sure of a hit or miss?  Am I wrong or is it just different for Minions?  Either way, should I wait for you to make an IC post, or go ahead with mine?

Also, since these are Minions, and I have two ranks of Takedown Attack, should I go ahead and do three rolls for my upcoming attack to save time (unless the initial one is just garbage)?

And finally, I edited my last post, to more fully describe Leviathan's transformation.  It was pretty weak as-is, especially for his first appearance.  I was in a hurry before, and my fingers were freezing, so I ended up rushing it.

No. Defense is a static value. Listed on your sheet is just a Bonus to 10. The Attack roll is to beat that value. So your Defense is 15, and none of them even equaled it.

Please do wait for me, though. Since they are Minions, you can just take 10 on your attack roll. You will easily hit them.

I'll keep it as is.  Gives them the chance to shoot first, since they might not get a second.

Should I keep taking a ten on my attacks, or are some of these Minions nimble enough to justify a roll?  And all Minions, regardless of their Toughness, go down in one hit, I think?  If so, then it's mostly a matter of how far apart they're spaced, to determine how many Leviathan can bring down in one turn (he can only take a five foot step between attacks, but he's also got reach from his size).  I assume you'd like Terrifica to get at least a couple of them.  =P

Nah, you won't have to roll. But some of them have juuuuust enough Toughness to justify a roll against you.

Terrifica doesn't roll all that well, but eh. 17.

So, then...

Init Order

Rifle Thugs 1 to 5-21

Terrifica-17

Heavy Thugs 1 to 5-16

Shotgun Thugs 1 to 5-16

Leviathan-12

Normal Thugs-10

Submachine Thugs 1 to 5-9

A note. They're clustered just like they are listed in the order. We'll start later, must go to work.

Rifle Thugs can't hit anything.

Terrifica will Power Attack +2 with her staff. Her attack Bonus with it drops to +11, which is enough for her to take 10 and lay out all the Normal Thugs with a DC 24 Toughness check that they literally can't make. She has Takedown Attack, so she can do that.

Heavy Thugs can't hit anything, either.

Shotgun Thugs can't hit anything, either. It is now Leviathan's turn.

He'll rush the shotgun group and take a ten on all rolls, hopefully bringing down that whole cluster, depending on how they manage their saves.

Also note that in the unlikely event that Terrifica gets overwhelmed, Leviathan will Interpose if she gets more than a bruise or two.  Though I think he can only do that if he hasn't already taken his actions for a turn?  All the better that he's almost last in the initiative roster, if that's so.

A chorus of "NOOOOOPE". Smashed them all down. When I said technically, I meant what I said. Also, every single one of these fellows has to roll a 10 or better to hit Leviathan. Terrifica has 5 more defense than he does.

Submachine Thugs can score a hit on either of us. I'll split them, I guess. 2 for me, 3 for you. For me no damage is added, as they did not exceed Terrifica defense by 5 or more. However, they exceeded Leviathan's by more than 5, so the Autofire on those submachine guns adds +1 to the damage bonus. So then. 2 DC 19 Toughness saves for me, and 3 DC 20 Toughness saves for you. The way Interpose works, you can only do it for one person a round. It doesn't take your actions, and all other combat rules apply normally. You just have to declare that you're doing it when someone is attacked that round, before the saves are rolled. So before I roll Terrifica's saves, would you like to Interpose?

Rule remembrance edit: I suppose we're technically in melee so they should have a -4 penalty, but eh, whatever.

Yeah, Leviathan can take one of those shots (though I don't think he can take both, right?).  So four Toughness checks:

Toughness: 1d20+15 20

Toughness 2: 1d20+15 24

Toughness 3: 1d20+15 18

Interpose Toughness: 1d20+14 26

So the third one got through, giving him one strike of Bruised.  Does his Regeneration take effect this round, or next?  Either way, I factored that penalty into the Interposed check.

Updated Init Order

Rifle Thugs 1 to 5-21

Terrifica-17

Heavy Thugs 1 to 5-16

Shotgun Thugs 1 to 5(KO'd)-16

Leviathan-12

Normal Thugs 1 to 5 (KO'd)-10

Submachine Thugs 1 to 5-9

Rifle Thugs find nothing but air again. Terrifica's gonna do the same thing. So that's a +11 bonus with a Toughness DC of 24. The Heavy Thugs can technically make this one. Gotta roll a 20, but they're Minions. Screw it. Knock 'em flat. Whenever you're ready, Blargy.

So who's Terrifica attacking?  She goes before Leviathan, after all.  I was going to go for the submachine gun group, if they weren't down and out by the time my turn rolled around.  But I assume from what you said that I should go ahead and post?  If necessary, I can edit and have Leviathan go after one of the other two groups.

I don't think there's a problem with it, but let me know: for Leviathan's final attack after the initial four Takedowns, he's going to grapple the fifth thug.  Pretty sure it's an automatic success, given his bonus.  Improved Grapple also lets him attack again next round, although I assume Terrifica will have the last two groups finished off by that point.
