Ho-kay, so. Planning this out a little more thoroughly than I usually do because I want to be precise. Because Miras isn't. ;)

 

Free Action: Switch Ruh Kalit array to Flinging the Fires.

Move Action: Run up the trains as far as possible.

Standard Action: Using Split Attack to throw one attack at Backup 4, one attack at Backup. If they're Minions I'll take 10 on the attack and end up with 20 and 16, respectively. Otherwise I'll roll. Since it's a Rank 10 effect cut in half, it'll be a DC 20 Toughness save from both of them.

 

Ranged Attack Check: 1d20+10 25

Ranged Attack Check into melee: 1d20+6 7

They are not minions the attack on backup 4 is a hit the other is not.  Backup 4 Toughness Check DC 20; 1d20+10=11: Bruised and Dazed

DC 15 Concentration check to maintain flight: 1d20+0=20; He maintains his flight for a round.

Standard Action:  Use Shockwave power feat the Mercs can't make the reflex save so both take DC 33 Toughness saves.

Backup 1 DC 33 Toughness 1d20+11=26: Bruised and Dazed

Backup 1 DC 15 concentration check 1d20+0=8: Fail flight turns off

Backup 1 Knockback Damage DC 25 1d20+10=30: Succeed

Backup 1 Fall Damage DC 21 1d20+10=11: Staggered

Backup 2 DC 33 Toughness 1d20+10=13:  Unconcious

Move Action:  Catch up to the train cars.

 

Backup

Backup 1 Is staggered dazed and prone on the ground and will be apprehended by the police

Backup 2 Is Unconscious and on the ground and will be apprehended by the police

Backup 3 Free Action:  Will clear his dazed state (HP to Kingsnake); Standard action:  Grab the woman;  Free Action: Activate a device (HP to Everyone)

Backup 4 Is Dazed and struggling to keep flight systems engaged.

Backup 5 Standard Action:  Attack Gauss; 1d20+11=29: Hit DC 24 Toughness save.  Move Action:  Move through Car 1 and up out of the roof to 50' over the Train Cars

Orokos has been against the heroes this whole time.  It is growing frustrating as these guys were not intended to be this much of a challenge for the group.  Dice do as they will though ...

Note: Backup #3 isn't Dazed anymore.  He bought that off with GM Fiat.

 

Should have one more round of Obscure before the cloud goes away.

 

Move Action: Kingsnake attempts to Demoralize Backup #3 again.  That's -1 Intimidate for doing it again in the same scene, and -5 for doing it as a move action, leaving his bonus at +9.  I'll forego Skill Mastery and roll it.

 

Intimidate check: 19.  Coulda just taken 10 anyway.  Backup #3 needs a 10 or better on his Sense Motive check.

 

Reaction: Kingsnake burns a Hero Point to gain the Power Attack feat.

 

Standard Action: Kingsnake attacks Backup #3.  He All-Out Attacks for +2 Attack / -2 Defense, and Power Attacks for -5 Attack / +5 Damage.  With his Fatigue, that leaves him at Attack +8, Damage +12 (DC27), Defense +11 (DC21).

 

Attack check (DC12, need to roll a 4+): 15.

 

That's a DC27 Toughness save.

 

Let me know if that takes out Backup #3.  If it does, then Kingsnake will Surge to grapple the "hostage."
