The Yamaguchi Job

A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE MERCHANDISE ARRIVAL

Northbay, home to the rich and powerful, has seen very little crime. The police make sure to patrol often and keep the area safe for their biggest donators. The heighten level of protection that the citizens within the area are granted makes it the ideal location to store contraband smuggled into the city.

The address that Yamaguchi had given you turns out to be a small yacht holding warehouse near the docks area. The building is two storeys tall with three major entrances: A large loading doors to allow yachts to be brought in and out, a normal sized door next to the dock doors, and a normal sized door in back. Surprisingly, there are few windows in a position to see inside. the gorup counts three small windows large enough to let in light on the second floor. They seem to be large enough for a person to slip inside if need be.

A quick look around the building shows that there are 2 guards at each of the small doors. A few men can be seen moving in and out of the building itself. They seemed dressed like dock workers or a few patroling guards. During your examination of the area, you count ten guards in total, with the four on patrol and six that seem to move about at any given time.

On the roof, there is a skylight that offers a view of the inside of the warehouse. Stairs lead to the roof area and there you occasionally see a guard that checks the perimeter of the area at set times. During one of the cleared periods, you get a look within the warehouse through the skylight to see a large area filled with yachts in various degrees of completion. To the east end of the warehouse, you see a wall with double doors. A key pad is against the wall which restricts entrance into the back area. During your observation, you don't see anyone enter or exit the back area.

ARRIVAL

The group had taken up positions around the warehouse, waiting for the merchandise to arrive. Finally that day came. Three small trucks arrived and stopped at the main doors. The guard outside got up to check on the vehicles' paperwork, talking to the driver of the first vehicle. As the three vehicles waited to enter, from the last truck, five very large figures stepped out. All five men wore heavy armor, most likely powered armor. Their presence stood out from the usual crowd of people that normally frequented North Bay.

The five men carried large weapons that resembled something from the movie Aliens. They spread out in a fan, covering the vehicles while watching the area outside of the building. The group is able to avoid detection but you're sure that it is was only maraginally.

Soon the discussion is complete and the doors are opened to allow the trucks inside of the warehouse. The five men follow the trucks inside, still keeping their eyes open for any trouble. The doors close as soon as the last man enters. The guard returns to his booth, a stack of papers in his hands.

Badb watches as the trucks arrive. There's no concrete way of telling how long the trucks will be there, but she sees no reason to tip her hand too quickly, and decides to go with the slightly stealthy approach. Badb flies to the top of the building and looks for a place to hide where she can see the guard she's observed, but can't be seen by him. Or at least no easily.

Badb times her movement right when the guard on teh roof heads inside. From watching previously, she knows that she has only a few seconds before a replacement guard comes into view. Her previous flybys had given her a fairly good location to hide. She easily reaches the location just as the door opens showing the new guard arriving on scene. He looks around but fails to find Badb. He moves over to the edge and begins his patrol around the roof.

Stealth was not something for The Void, and so she aimed for a direct approach.

She teleported to the frontdoor, smiling, her Nihilo held tightly.

Void's sudden appearance takes the guards by surprise. Beither expected to see some kind of super powered being appear before them. Their training however takes over quickly as the man in the small booth begins reaching for a telephone while the man outside begins to raise his weapon. Void knows she only has a few moments to take advantage of their hesitation.

The Void turned to the guard raising his weapon, she raised her Nihilo quickly and fired. It was a hit, but the bullet only graced the shoulder, slightly bruising him.

Exile chuckled slightly as he heard Ironhide's question just as he stepped out next to him. "I do believe we will break in but..." as he speaks the tall mystic walks up to the nearest wall of warehouse and places his outstretched right hand against it. "There's no need to rush in without some intelligence concerning where our objectives and opponents are."

With that said he begins mumbling in a language that sounds like it shouldn't be issueing from a human mouth, and given that it was the ancient speech of the serpentfolk of Lemuria this wasn't too strange. As he let his awareness of the physical world sweep over what was on the other side of the wall he smiles inwardly at the thought that the arcane and mystical sounding words he uttered wasn't any spell or ritual at all and in fact formed an old nursery rhyme with parallels to Itty bitty spider.

Knowing she has to be quick and quiet to pull this off, Badb waits for the patrolling guard to be at his furtherest distance from the door. Steeling herself, Badb darts from her hiding spot and makes toward the door, doing her best to open the door and slip in while the guard is distracted.

Babd moves quickly towards the door but realizes that it isn't her best effort as the Guard seems to begin to turn back her way. seeing the movement, Badb picked up her speed and manages to slip through the door right and close it just as the guard turns to face the door. For the moment, she has gone unnoticed.

Badb finds herself at the top of stairs that lead down into a large work area. Five ships are in various stages of construction or repair. She easily counts five carpenters working on the various ships while two guards walk around the building. Two more stationary guards are clearly seen over by the door with the electronic lock. A set of double doors are between them.

The noise in the workhouse seems to have hidden Badb's entry and will help in moving around quietly. At the moment there is no sign of the three trucks that went in earlier, though the double doors are large enough to allow them through.

The white haired mystic ceases his mumbled chanting, about halfway through the second verse. "Let's see, there's a few boats and two yatchs being repaired by five carpenters, and four guards. Two of these are guarding a set of double doors to the right, probably where our objective is. The other two are roaming around the room."

He looks at each of his two companions as he continues. "I believe it'd be best if you two downed the ones by the doors in a few moments when me make our move, Babd and I can handle the two roamers. We'll see what to do with the carpenters once the guards are down. Any questions? If not let's go and cause some havoc."

Badb surveys her surroundings, taking in the double doors. Getting across all that open space on foot would be next to impossible, provided she wanted to stay quiet. Still the others will be here soon, if they aren't already, so staying quiet may not even matter. Perhaps it was time to raise a little havoc. Badb flies toward the double doors, aiming a blast at the guard on the left as she goes. Her blow connects, spinning the man around and taking him to the ground. "You! Open the door or ya get the same!"

Badb's blast catches the guard by surprise and sending him to the ground. Unfortunately, it also draws the attention of everyone else in the building. They all look up and see Badb floating in the air. The carpenters all drop their tools and begin scrabbling off of the various projects. The guards begin to raise weapons, training on the flying villain.

The noise of her blast catches the attention of the guard on teh roof as well as those behind the wall. Both begin preparations.

Exile realizes he'd neglected keeping track of what went on inside for a few moments when he hears the ruckus caused presumably by Babd coming from inside rather than any questions or affirmations from his companions. Immediately refocusing noticing what's going on beyond the wall in front of him he notices that, predictably, one of the guards is down and the rest are either trying to do what they can to stop the intruder or rushing to see just what happened.

The guard on the roof catches the ancient ones attention, an opponent in such a commanding position can't be left in place for long. Tapping into his potential for twisting reality through mystical means the black-clad one cries out four harsh, even inhuman, syllables in quick succession and slams his right hand straight down through the air, the air around his gloved hand seemingly contorting itself, shimmering as though part of a heat-mirage. In response a similar phenomena forms above the hapless guard and races downward pulling the air, or rather space itself, with it thundering into the unfortunate guard and slamming him against the roof leaving him unconscious.

Exile's quick action is more than enough to drop the guard on the roof and Ironhide moves quickly to the large double doors. With one blow, he bashes the doors down to reveal Badb in the air threatening the lone guard by the secured door.

The nearest guard to the entrance quickly fires his weapon at Ironhide but the blast goes wide. The guard by the door raises his weapon smoothly and fires a shot that hits Badb. The other guard fires at Badb from behind, but his shot misses whether due to the villain's presence or shock at being hit by the previous bullet remains to be seen.

From the back entrance, two more guards enter the warehouse with weapons drawn, looking for the source of the trouble.

Badb shoots at the guard by the door. The blast knocks out the guard and Boid pops in to blast one of the guards before moving to the yacht.

The workers are filing out of the area as quickly as possible while the remaining guards begin to target the visible interlopers.

Ironhide's blow knocks out another guard, leaving only two up and able to do anything at all. The quick actions by the villains causes the two men to realize that their pay wasn't enough to deal with the supers. Both men fled outside of the building with the carpenters.

Soon, the area was clear except for the unconcious guards and the villains.
