Quickly recovering from X'Madi's telekinetic attack, Paradigm looked down at the renegade Lor mentat.  "Once we protected one of the greatest empires this galaxy has ever seen, we have faced far worse than you and your fellow escaped prisoners."  The Naram replied as she slammed her hands together in front of her, causing a powerful shockwave that emanated out toward X'Madi and Pheydyn.

X'Madi tried to dodge out of the way of the shockwave, but was not fully able to avoid it, the concussive force slamming into her telekinetic forcefield and causing her to wince in pain from the impact.  Pheydyn was unable to move more than a step away from the shockwave, but his psychic forcefield managed to withstand the impact, even as debris around the two escaped criminals was knocked up and sent flying away.

As the chaos around him subsided, Pheydyn focused back on Paradgim as she hovered in the air above him and X'Madi.  "We may have underestimate you, but you are not fully appreciating our power either."  The Futianni replied as he focused his gaze back on the Praetorian Imperatrix.

Once again a blast of psychic energy lashed out at Paradigm, burning into her mind.  This time Paradigm was staggered backward slightly, as the mental blast threatened to overwhelm her.  But she managed to remain conscious, although the effects of the attack lingered.

In a slightly unnecessary twirl Sitara aimed another strike at her power pike not concerned with her apparent lack of success so far, she could do this all day plus it gave the others a chance to gain the upper hand.on the entire situation. Something the data on her HUD told her that this was more or less the case.

“Surrender at this point was save you a lot of potential pain in your near future.”

Hopefully he was as aware of how the situation was going the Praetorians way as well, though criminals really didn’t think like soldiers but you never knew it might work.

The blast from Traveller's power pike sent Zadvian to the ground, dazing the F'terrix in the process.  As the criminal was knocked to the ground, Dragonid flew overhead.  "Well done Traveller."  He commented with a growl before sending jet of flame at the downed, but still conscious opponent.  The flames singed Zadvian's fur, injuring him, but failed to finish him off.

Instead, the F'terrix snarled in anger as he rolled backward and gracefully sprung back to his feet, quickly following by leaping up into the air toward the low flying reptilian Praetorian.  But Dragonid managed to bank to one side, avoiding Zadvian's sharp claws as the criminal dropped back down to the ground after the missed attack.

Over across the plaza near the governor's building, Cor climbed slowly back to his feet after Mater Vyrdna's powerful attack.  The towering alien raised one glowing hand as a glowing, opaque blue energy dome formed around the criminal, shielding him from Mater and Moon-Moth.

Cavalier redoubled, regaining his balance as he swerved around Xadvian - mainly because he's misjudged the distance required to close with the big hairy fugitive. He scanned the battlefield, trying to figure out whether to continue engaging or switch targets. When he saw the field go up around Cor, though, he knew what to do. While it was always somewhat interesting to test his weapons against new and intimidating forms of force fields, these guys needed to be taken down now. And he trusted the others to take down Cor.

He buzzed back towards Xadvian, redirecting power to his blaster. "Big, hairy, angry, can't maintain a cool demeanor to save his life... I'd say you remind me of my ex, but man, you are much uglier." He let loose a volley, targeting the fugitive with a shower of energy bolts.

If Cavalier's banter was intended to distract Zadvian, the attempt fell flat, as the F'terrix dove to one side, avoiding the barrage of energy the Star Knight sent toward the criminal.  Rolling back up to his feet, Zadvian quickly glanced from Cavalier to Traveller and then to Dragonid, clearly not liking the odds he was currently facing.

Back at the downed spaceship, X'Madi sent another blast of telekinetic energy toward Paradigm.  However, the hovering Praetorian managed to dodge the poorly aimed attack.  The former Lor mentat frowned, noting that the tide of the battle was turning badly against them at the moment.

We need to get them off balance.  She stated over the telepathic network Pheydyn had set up.  Try to take over the leader's mind and us her against them.

Moon-moth gives little more than a nod of his head to Mater to signal his peeling off, beliving that now Cor had practically removed himself from the fight it would be a good time to switch dancing partners sparing little more than a glance at the world as his body turns he sees the Felinoid being battled by three of his compatriots and the Imperatrix battling two opponents alone, though he lingers longer than he should looking for the teleporter to no avail he unleashes a blast of scintilating force towards Pheydyn which glances across the bow of the now ruined star yatch and into the distance.

"Don't be hoggings all the dancing partners my imperatrix! I am Eagerness to see what this one is made of."

"Wha-aaaargh!" The truth was, Rux's plasma sword swipe caught Vyrdnaya unaware, the technomorph Praetorian barely having the time to rejoice in hers and Moon Moth's tag team action prevailing over Cor, before she was slashed right in her back. Moon-Moth's warning barely reached her in time, too; a milisecond later, and Vyrdnaya has no doubt that she wouldn't have been able to move away enough, resulting in a deeper and more crippling wound! "You low-life scum!" she cried, unleashing a flailing back kick, and trying to nail her attacker from her blindspot, only managing to hit empty air.

Moon-Moth gestured her to the right direction, though, and seeing Cor turtle up behind his barriers once more, Vyrdnaya took his unspoken advice to heart, and sought her attacker's location. Spotting the plasma sword wielding Rux, Mater Vyrdna took flight, priming her draconic cannon, and unleashing a mighty beam at Rux. Unfortunately for her, Rux was right at the edge of its tranjectory, and thanks to her incredible reflexes, Rux had little trouble dodging her attacker's beam.

Vyrdnaya was left staring in disbelief, while floating in the air. "Come on!" She taunted Rux. "Let's see you try and get a better shot this time!"

Rux was quickly back on her feet after dodging Vyrdnaya's attack.  "One should not let their passions control them during a fight."  The cyborg replied calmly as she looked up at the hovering Praetorian.  After the briefest of pauses, the supercriminal leapt forward, just as one of the rifts in space opened in front of her to pass through.

Back down near the governor's offices, another rift opened in the sky near Cavalier, as Rux came leaping out, her plasama sword slashing in front of her.  But the Space Knight reacted quickly to the cyborg's sudden appearance, pulling back and out of the range of the crackling weapon.

Rux began to drop back down toward the ground after her missed attack, as another rift opened beneath her and she dropped through it and out of sight.

Corona blasted out of the gubernatorial mansion through the hole she had made in the roof, rising on a plume of red and gold energy as she looked out over the scene. The Praetorians seemed scattered, but the criminals were going down one by one, restrained or beat into unconsciousness. Still, the Lor officer could look around and see the many bright flashes of Rux's portals popping up here and there, sending the felonious swordmaster across the battlefield to harass every Praetorian in turn.

She turned gently in place, watching the read-outs from her armor and directing power to her hands. "Rux!" Her amplified voice easily carried over the entire scene. "Cease this attack at once and surrender, and no more harm will come to you. If you keep attacking, you're going to be brought down hard instead!"

Paradigm

Paradigm gave a small smile as a barrage of mystical energy lanced through the air near Pheydyn and Moon-Moth moved near to assist her.  "He is all yours old friend."  She replied as she focused her attention on X'Madi as Corona’s amplified voice carried over the battlefield, trying to get the teleporter to stand down.

The Naram respected the Lor officer's tenacity, and understood the need to provide these opponents with the opportunity to surrender, but she was not quite as sure that the situation had moved so solidly in the Praetorians' favor that Rux or any others might consider surrender.  There were still a number of the supercriminals still in the fight, and the city was still in chaos as the police drones unleashed by X'Madi were still running amok, taking the attention of some of the other Praetorians that could have been helping capture the escaped criminals.

The Praetorian then flew forward toward ring leader of this escape, determined to smash through her telekentic forcefield.  Paradigm covered the distance in an instant, kicking up dust as she passed, one powerful fist shooting forward toward X'Madi in a blur.  However, the rogue Lor mentat was quickly to react, pulling back as Paradigm swung, and between that movement and her forcefield, the powerful attack was deflected away.

Pheydyn turned his focus toward Moon-moth as Paradigm closed with X'Madi.  The alien psychic regarding the Praetorian for a moment and then gave a small smile.  "You Praetorians certainly come in a wide variety of forms.  Truly worthy opponents, but unfortunately you stand between us and our freedom."

With that Pheydyn sent a blast of pure psychic energy at Moon-moth's mind..

Sitara had been on many battles and skirmishes in her years and had developed a good sense of battlefield awareness. So she noticed that one of her fellow Praetorian’s was in trouble a fraction before her HUD picked up the information. With her fellow dealing with Zadvian she took a few set backward and split the power pike into two parts, spinning them into position as they reduced down into their normal blaster mode. She didn’t need to but Sitara had a sense of the dramatic even after all this time.

Now in what sh felt was a good position she fired off a couple of blaster shots towards Pheydyn, what would hopefully give Moon-Moth a chance to recover from whatever he’d been hit with.

Up on the top of the now grounded space yacht, Pheydyn manage to just dodge to one side as Traveller fired her power pike, causing the beam to narrowly miss him, although it burned a hole in the loose robes he wore.  Glancing down at the smoking hole in one of the sleeves, he looked back up at Traveller.  "I had grown rather fond of these robes."

A short distance away, Dragonid was a bit surprised as Zadvian continued to withstand their combined attacks, agilely getting back to his feet with a quick move.  The more he watched the F'terrix in action, the more he was reminded of Raark, the Praetorian who had overseen his training as a new Praetorian so many centuries ago.

The reptilian Praetorian snarled slightly.  "You are a tough one, I do acknowledge that, you remind me of someone I knew long ago, a pity you tarnish his legacy with your criminal behavior!"  With that, Dragonid let lose another jet of flame from his mouth, this time squarely hitting the criminal with the blast that sent Zadvian flying backward, his fur smoking as he crashed to the ground and lay still, finally out of the fight.

Even as one the number of escaped criminals continued to dwindle, the remaining ones in the fight pressed on, the glowing energy barrier around Cor suddenly reshaping into a ramp that led up to Mater Vyrdna as the large alien came running up, swinging his glowing club of psychic energy.

The large weapon slammed into Vyrdna, hitting her with a powerful impact…

Wow. Either someone's cocky, or someone got tired of the tortoise shell tactic. Either way...

Cavalier swept around, rechanneling the energy running through his armor. Cor was rushing up his own construct, sweeping at Mater Vrynda with his gigantic club. As someone who'd recently been engaging in melee, Cavalier could not deny the appeal of swooping in to deliver a crushing blow. After all, that's exactly what he was going to do.

"Hey. Industrial Light and Morons." The blaster hummed to life. "I know you put a lot of pride in your construction, but... here's an object lesson in not skimping on materials." He opened fire, aiming right for Cor's most exposed areas.

If X'Madi had been confident that she and her other escaped criminals would be able to overcome the Praetorians, that belief took a severe blow as Cor and Zadvian both went down in quick succession.

We need to withdraw and try to regroup or possibly seek to evade them and escape some other way.  She stated over the mental link with the two remaining superpowered criminals.  At the same time, she sent a wide blast of telekinetic energy out towards Paradigm and Moon-Moth, but the Lor's attack was rushed, and the telekinetic blast proved inaccurate, what little force struck the two Praetorians hardly bothering either.

Even more discouraged by her in ability to even slow any of the Praetorians down, X'Madi lifted herself off the ground with her telekinesis, and started to fly away from the battle and toward another part of the city.

"Gnngh!" Cor's attack managed to knock some wind out of Mater Vyrdna, but thankfully, Cavalier came to her aid. In fact, his well placed shot struck true, and Cor went sleeping. "Much appreciated, partner." She thanked the human. "We're making some progress here, we can't let up now. We've got to surround the remai-" she tried to rally Kyle, as she noticed, at that point, one of the convicts make a panicked escape. It didn't take long for her to realise who that Lor was. "X'Madi..."

The images of the droids gunning everything at sight, and the thought of the dead Lor captives aboard the Sar-Lan, combined together inside of Vyrdnaya's mind, painting a grotesque picture of hopelessness and dread. Anger rose within her, her right arm clenched so hard that it was crushed under its own power, and her left eye flashed a robotic red. "Oh, no you don't." She simply mouthed, having forgotten Kyle was only a few feet away from her, indeed, having forgotten everything else.

Her wings were folded inside her back, and rocket turbines tooke their place. Her legs fused together and whirled, transforming into a single drill. Her destroyed right hand was morphed into a hydraulic shovel, while her left hand reverted to its original state. In mere moments, Mater Vyrdna took off to the sky, chasing after the fleeing Lor Mentat. "If you think you'll make your escape so easily..." She shouted at her, as she closed in. "THEN YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMING!" she practically screamed, as she waved her now massive right arm of a shovel at X'Madi. So great was the weight and force behind the attack, that not only did it broke through X'Madi's forcefield, it actively sent her crashing towards the ground, as if she were a fly, struck down by a swatter.

Vyrdnaya checked on her foe from above, and as soon as she confiremed that X'Madi wasn't moving, she spat at the unconscious criminal, with a distainful look. "The proud crewmembers of Sar-Lan send their regards."

Corona, floating high above the battlefield, saw the rest of the team battling for their lives. She wanted to intervene, but she knew that she had to hold back and wait for -- that, there! The air around Pheydyn glittered suddenly and the Lor turned in the air, bringing her hand around and gathering energy in her palm. Even as Rux was coalescing out of thin air, Corona blasted her with a beam of golden energy. There was a scream and Corona fought the impulse to pump her fist. "Time to give up," she shouted, "or it's only going to get worse for you!"

Rux was blasted off her feet by Corona's powerful blast, slamming against the top of the wrecked spacecraft and rolling a short distance away dazed and hurt.

Pheydyn glanced over his shoulder at his fellow convict and then took a quick glance around the area, seeing that all the rest were even further out of the fight.  Focusing back on the Praetorians in front of him, he held his hands up in front of him.  "It would seem there is little point of continuing this, you have clearly prevailed."

Dragonid flew over to land next to Rux, who was just pushing herself back upright and trying to get her bearings.  "I would listen to Corona and think twice about trying to teleport away."  The reptilian Praetorian stated, wisps of smoke escaping from his mouth, promising a jet of flame is she did.

Paradigm

Paradigm relaxed her stance slightly, now that immediate hostilities were at an end, although she was still weary of the two conscious escaped criminals.  "Seresk, Magnetar, what is your status?"  She asked over a communicator.

Seresk reported back that the landing field was secured and he had destroyed all the reprogramed police drones in that area.  Magnetar similarly reported back that he had managed to eliminate all the police drones that had been rampaging through the city.

"Good work."  Paradigm responded before she turned toward the others.  "Corona, Dragonid, Moon-Moth and Traveler, please secure these two and get them into holding cells on the Devotion.  Cavalier, you and I will start gathering up the unconscious escapees and transport them back to the landing field.  The rest of you, fan out through the city to ensure it is secure and locate as many of the other escaped convicts as you can."

Having taken care of X'Madi, Mater Vyrdna looked behind her to where she'd been mere moments ago, at the battlefield between the Praetorians and the escaped convicts. A few blast flashes still flared, and Vyrdnaya wanted to join back to the fight as soon as possible, but she had to relent. Transforming to her original form, she descended towards X'Madi's fallen body, in order to secure the escaped convict. "It wouldn't do to let you off my sights, even for a second." She clicked her tongue, as she grabbed the Lor Mentat over her shoulder. "Ooof, heavy." She muttered, as she reinforced her body with hydraulic machinery, allowing her to carry the convict with ease.

Taking flight once more, she headed back towards the battlefield, only to find out that by that time, things had started to calm down significantly. The Praetorians appeared to be scurrying along, but they didn't appear to be engaged in battle. Breathing a sigh of relief, the Akarnian Technomorph landed nearby as she addressed Paradigm. "Sorry for bailing, I found a rat trying to escape towards the suburbs." Vyrdnaya commented, indicating X'Madi's unconscious body on her shoulder. "What's the situation here?" She asked Paradigm, who proceeded to relay what had transpired.

"Understood! I'll leave X'Madi to you and Cavalier, then." She said, handing off the body to Kyle. "As for the search..." she looked around, and found a pile of machinery scraps. Smiling, she got closer and touched the heap. It soon started reorganizing, fusing, and transforming into animated drones. Using this method, she created 10 Spy Drones, 10 Aid Drones, and 5 Combat Drones. "These guys will prove of some help."

The Spy Drones looked like small-sized aircrafts, capable of hovering and flying at high speeds. She ordered them to fly around, search for wounded or felled people, and relay the information back to her. Mater Vyrdna would use that information to coordinate the rest of the drones.

The Aid Drones looked burly, with big flexible rotor tractors for legs, and compact hydraulic arms equiped with drills. Them, she ordered to clear the fallen debris in their path, as their primary objective.

Finally, the Combat Drones looked similar to the Aid Drones, but instead of having drills, their arms looked extendable and flexible. Their back housed missile launchers, and their chest was mounted with a high compression Melt Blaster. Their orders were to help police and secure the area around the Aid Drones, and to assist them in the heavy-lifting, whenever possible.

"Head out." She ordered, and the drones begun upon their Search&Rescue operation.

Corona grabbed Rux's arm and hauled the alien to her to her feet. "You're going to want to march now," she said, her tone sour. "That's where you get to some place back putting one foot in front of the other, mind. If you feel like taking a shortcut, just remember that I'm going with you." She squeezed Rux's arm harshly. "I've got to do some pretty extensive armor repair because of you, not to mention all the forms that come with an attempted escape. There's a lot fewer forms for 'killed while escaping,' though, so if you want to save me some time, go ahead and run." She pushed Rux in front of her, marching the pair of them towards the Praetorian shuttle.

Moon-moth had just managed to shake the feeling of his braincase being introduced to one of the heavier instruments in a mechanics toolbox and ready to strike back! only to find that the combat was over, though that was in and of itself a good thing.

Opting to aid in the escorting of X'madi he wasted no time in transforming the air around her wrists into standard issue albeit completely solid restraints of voidcraft grade metal, fixing her arms behind her back, a crude but sufficiently effective until they could get a more specialized psycho-isolation device to shut off her access to mentat tricks and implants.

opting to levitate her within the firm grasp of his spell-hand rather than embarrass himself with his spindly chitinous arms as he slowly headed towards the waiting devotion's holding cells and bantering solemnly with those who might join him.

"On it, Paradigm," said Cavalier. He rerouted the power focus of his armor into external systems, and he was glad he did. Muscle, steel, and other things he didn't really want to know about - these convicts were not lacking in these things. It was a simple matter of lifting, hauling, and depositing, and Cavalier was very good at maintaining a fireman's carry at this point. Even during three-dimensional movement.

When he was done with that, he spent a few seconds recalibrating the settings on his blaster. This was usually meant for singular targets, but if he could get it right, they'd have a temporary measure of security. And he really did not want to have to do all this over again, in case someone woke up. With one pull of the trigger, a hemisphere of energy formed over the incapacitated targets, keeping them secure.

"There. Temporary detainment. And if we need to keep it up, I've got the settings programmed in. Can't make it mobile, though. That would make transport a hell of a lot easier."

Over the years Sitara had seen soldier of various stripes be unable to switch off after a encounter, she however had never had that problem in the slightest. Instead she went smoothly from warrior to engineer in one swift moment.

“We can if we cut the crete from under them, between us we should be able to carry the whole thing.”

She separated her staff back into it’s two separate blasters and holstering one began to change the settings on the other.

“Shouldn’t take long to get this done, though I hate to get dirt on my poor ship.”
