Paradigm, carrying the unconscious Varlis, flew up to where Adiri was just reaching the maximum height from Paradigm's earlier throw.  The Praetorian flew a short distance from the rock covered supercriminal and called out to her.

"Return to your normal form and stand down and I will carry you back down to the surface."  The young Naram stated. 

Adiri twisted herself around to face Paradigm.  "I can take the fall, and when I get back down there, I will make you pay!" 

"Very well, we will have to do this the hard way."  Paradigm replied, as her dark yellow eyes turned red before a beam of energy fired out to strike the armored supercriminal.  Despite Adiri's considerable durability she let out a grunt of pain as the attack injured her slightly.

With everything seemingly moving away from her she called up her suits diagnostic as she kicked the suits antigrav motor to there maximum power outputs. The readings were unfortunately not as powerful as they should have been, it was definitely something she’d have to work on soon. For now she transferred some of her powers from other systems to try and coax as much speed as out of the systems as she could.


Her HUD systems picked out the other Praetorians at a she adjusted her trajectory to make sure she could catch up with them, she just hope everything wasn’t over before she got there.

On the surface of Dreeda III 

By putting everything she could into her suit's thrusters, Traveller was able to catch up with Dragonid as the reptilian Praetorian continued to engage some of the supercriminals and now the automated police drones that had been reprogrammed to attack them.   

Seeing that everything seemed to be under control at the landing zone for the moment, Magnetar flew after Traveller, easily able to keep up with her.  As he drew near his two fellow Praetorians, Magnetar turned toward a group of three police drones that were attacking, sending a wide blast of magnetic force rippling out at the three drones.  The powerful blast struck all three, twisting and crumpling them as it impacted and then exploding into small debris as their power cores were ruptured. 

"My thanks Magnetar."  Dragonid stated with what passed for a grin with his fanged mouth.  The reptilian Praetorian then flew after the fleeing figures of Amikai and Sullek.  Catching back up with the two superpowered criminals, Dragonid opened his mouth once again, sending a jet of flame at Amikai.  The fire lashed over the dark haired villain, causing him to cry out in pain as he went spinning out of control before crashing down to the ground unconscious. 

But Dragonid had little chance to celebrate his victory, as two of the police drones that had been blasting at random buildings turned and flew over toward the Praetorian.  Both opened fire, but Dragonid again proved his aerial combat skills and dodged both blasts. 

Traveller and Magnetar also found themselves under fire from another part of police drones that had diverted their way.  Traveller was able to dodge the blast aimed at her, while Magnetar's forcefield easily turned aside the attack aimed at him.  "I can deal with these, keep up with Dragonid."  He stated as he turned toward the new threat.

Vyrdnaya regrouped with the other Praetorians on the Sar-Lan, just in time for the spaceship to start going critical. "Got your message..." She commented, when the alarms started sounding. "... and not a moment too soon, by the looks of it. Let's not waste any more time here."

 

Vyrdnaya went into the portal, its magic transporting her to the cargo area of the Devotion, down on Dreeda III's surface. Upon materializing there, she stepped out to the planet's surface, spotting Praetorian Seresk in the process. "What's the situation here, Praetor Seresk?" She asked the giant lizard-like Praetorian, who obliged her with a brief explanation of where she should go to join the fight against the rest of the Deadly Dozen. "Understood, I'm going ahead." Two giant mechanical wings sprouted from her back, while her feet transformed into rockets that propelled her into flight.

 

In a matter of seconds, her rocket-fuel-boosted flight had flung her towards Traveller and Magnetar. "Hope you don't mind if I join, Praetors." She said, anxious to get her hands on the ones responsible for Sar-Lan's horror.

Once everyone had passed through the portal moth himself followed suit, carefully allowing the portal to seal behind him with a soft boom, distant but undaunted by the attrocity reported to him he steps solemnly into the devotions cargo hold and with a quick look at the chaos around him steels his mind.

turning to cavalier he speaks quietly "goes on ahead, friend; I will bring up the rear." Having in truth already forgive the human his slip of the tongue he activates his comlink "This is Moon-Moth, I is now planetside; anyone requires a Ride?"

"Yeah," said Cavalier. "Let's get the hell out of here." He tried to put the carnage he'd seen out of his mind, and to focus on the victories they'd achieved. But that was easier said than done. He left the wreckage of the ship behind, knowing that it would be opened to the void soon - the best resting place some of these individuals would have. For now. With luck, they could go back later and retrieve the bodies, ensure they got back home. But for now, there were other matters to deal with.

 

Cavalier raced through the portal, dealing with the sudden return of full atmosphere for a second before the armor adjusted. He charged his blaster to full power. It was time to work out some rather negative emotions.

"Are you prepared to surrender now?"  Paradigm again asked Adiri.  The female criminal looked back at the Praetorian with a scowl. "It will take much more than that to stop me!" 

At Adiri's refusal to surrender, Paradigm had little choice but to continue to try to subdue the dangerous supercriminal.  Once again the Naram's dark yellow eyes turned red and a beam of energy shot forth to strike the plummeting Adiri.

This time, the criminal's incredible durability did not do enough to stop the powerful blast, as she grunted in pain and was dazed.  That caused Adiri to lose her focus, and her rocky form began to fade, returning her to her normal green haired humanoid form.

Corona took in the information the adjutant had for her, nodding sharply. "Now get on board and keep your head down," she said. The officer jogged towards Moon Moth and the fuzzy alien's magical portal, while keying up the ship's communicator. "Huhunu, the criminals aboard the Sar-lan moved a yacht planet side when they took over the governor's mansion," she radioed in. "We'll try to stop them before they lift off, but keep a weather eye out for any FTL travel out of the system. If they get away we'll need to track them."

As Traveller continued on to catch up with Dragonid and Cavallier (who had streaked past the pair to moments earlier), Magnetar unleashed another wide area magnetic blast at the police drones that had come after him and Traveller.  The wave of magnetic force slammed into three of the drones, crumpling them with ease and sending them plummeting to the ground. 

Dragonid grinned slightly as the other two caught up with him.  "We have them on the run."  He commented, as he turned toward one of the police drones and unleashed a jet of flame from his maw that destroyed the drone in a bright explosion. 

Back at the Devotion, Huhunu nodded at Corona's instructions, as he led the Lor official into the starship.

Cavalier blasted out of the portal at full speed, taking quick surveillance of his surroundings. Sullek was running right towards him, and at high speed. It took a second for him to realize it wasn't an offensive change, but running away. He raised his blaster, ready to fire a barrier to take the fugitive down... only for his eyes to skip past the fleeing target and towards a large building, one he recognized from satellite intel as the Governor's mansion. Which was currently surrounded by criminals, guns, and heavy artillery. 

 

Welp. Time for some peacekeeping. He avoided the flowery speech, the notices to stand down. Instead, he charged forward like a guided missile, blasted charged, and rained fire down on the heavy battery, aiming for the support struts.

As Vyrdnaya flew in formation alongside Traveller and Magnetar, she became aware of Cavalier zooming past them. She could understand the human's feelings, wanting to get back at the perpetrators of the horrific massacre aboard the Sar-lan, but given that the Twelve were highly dangerous criminals, she questioned the prudence of breaking rank and taking charge on your own. "What?" she mouthed at the view of the speeding Star Knight, as Magnetar unleashed a magnetic wave to short-circuit the pursuing drones.

 

"Great. More drones under the control of the Twelve." No, under the control of X'madi. she thought. It took her only a second to witness Kyle open fire at a crowd, barely making out some heavy duty weapons among them. She clicked her tongue. It can't be helped. "Seems Cavalier has engaged with enemy hostiles, Praetors. I will go see if I can provide some backup, immediately. Be careful." She told Magnetar and Traveler.

 

Indeed, she boosted her rockets' output and sped to the governor's building with all haste, just in time to see the gunslinging Cavalier take out a criminal holding a dangerous-looking weapon, with a well-placed shot. Transforming her hand into a hammer, she rushed another criminal, and socked him right in the ribs, throwing him away as a ragdoll due to the momentum. "Need assistance, Cavalier? Those weapons look like they could hurt some."

Moon-moth wastes no time on words as he firmly but calmly seizes corona's out stretched hand and in a flash of warped, spiralling light flings himself across space and time, instantaniously appearing at his destination, having pulled corona across with him "hoping that was not unsettlings for you, friend...different people have told me different things." He states briefly but curiously as he regards the battle raging around him "I will move to disable the yatche."

As several of the Praetorians converged on the governor's office, they found a four story building with large plexiglass windows along its walls.  Gathered around the outside of the building were dozens of criminals of various races, all armed with blasters, and a number which were carrying portable anti-vehicle weapons.  Cavalier and Mater Vyrdna acted quickly, taking two of the criminals carrying the heavy weapons down. 

As Moon-Moth and Corona appeared on the roof of the building, they found over a dozen armed criminals there as well, including two that were carrying the portable anti-vehicle weapons. 

Sullek made another long running leap, coming down to land near the gathered criminals now starting to engage the Praetorians present.  "Stop them!"  He shouted, pointing his sword as Cavlier and Mater Vyrdna.

Paradigm smiled slightly as Adiri reverted to her normal, and hopefully far less durable, form.  Hopefully this would make it easier to subdue the Geox.  Flying over next to Adiri’s plummeting form and reached out to grab her, easily pulling the Geox into her grip.  With a slight application of pressure, Paradigm rendered the faintly struggling supercriminal unconscious.   

"Now to get you back down to the ground to see what is going on."  The Paretorian stated aloud as she focused back on the city below.

Corona's stomach flipped as Moon Moth took her from here to there in a hearbeat, but she swallowed it down and focused. She took in the combat around her, the figures on the ground and the Praetorians assaulting the mansion. She clicked over her suit's communicator quickly, broadcasting to as many of the Praetorians as were listening. "Paradigm, the convicts aboard the Sar-Lan smuggled a yacht down here," she said. "If we don't stop them, they'll take off and be out of the system! We need to get inside and find it!"

 

The Lor didn't wait for an answer, instead kneeling and raising both fists above her head. Red-gold energy gathered there as she interlocked her fingers and chose a weak-looking spot on the roof. The hammerblow smashed the roof to flinders, and only her glowing aura kept Corona from falling through to the floors below.

Even as the Praetorians began dealing with some of the criminals gathered around the building, or collapsing the buildings roof, the criminals began reacting to their appearance.  Down on the ground level, the remaining two criminals carrying heavy weapons dropped to one knee, each taking aim at one of the Praetorians that had taken down the comrades.  

As each fired, a powerful blast of energy shot towards Cavalier and Mater Vyrdna.  The later was able to dodge aside, the blast sailing past and blasting a hole in a wall down the street.  Cavalier was not as quick, as the blast struck his glowing armor.

Corona's action had left her and Moon-Moth floating in the air above the collapsed section of the roof, which had dropped down into a four story atrium below, sending all the criminals tumbling down to the floor below and rendering them unconscious or otherwise unable to fight once they landed.

Traveller continued on after Mater Vyrdna and Cavalier, pushing her suit's thrusters as hard as she could.  She came up toward the front of the building as the fight was truly starting to heat up. 

A group of six criminals gathered in front of Cavalier all took aim at the Star Knight, opening fire with their blasters.  Most of the shots missed, but two managed to strike the Terran. 

Just off to the right, another group of six criminals took aim at Mater Vyrdna, firing at the Praetorian.  Of the group, only one managed to hit the target, one coming very close while the other four missed wildly. 

The group of six criminals off to the left took aim at the newly arrived Traveller, opening fire almost in unison.  The veteran fighter was able to dodge aside and make four of the shots miss, but the last two led their shots a bit better, and managed to hit Traveller. 

Further off to the right side of the building, another group of six criminals started running toward the fight. 

Down below Corona and Moon-Moth, a short, stocky humanoid with three thick fingers stepped into view, the pair recognizing Santri from the briefing materials provided by the Lor.  The superpowered criminal looked up through the ruined roof, raising one of his hands which glowed dark red before he sent a blast of energy up towards Corona, managing to hit the Lor officer. 

Dragonid came flying after Traveller, easily catching up with her as the escaped criminals finished their attacks.  Turning toward the group to the left that had shot at Traveller, the reptilian Praetorian focused on the criminal near that group with the heavy weapon, opening his mouth and sending a powerful jet of flame at the criminal.  The fire washed over the alien holding the heavy weapon, rendering him quickly unconscious, as the flames continued on past, striking another of the escaped criminals who was also knocked unconscious.   

Then, in a flash of brown fur, Zadvian came running out from the right side of the building, quickly moving around the gathered escaped criminals (but not nearly moving as fast as Procyus or Varlis had been).  The F'terrix closed with Mater Vyrdna, snarling as he did and slashing the Praetorian with his sharp claws.


Following after Zadvian, but at a much slower pace, was the towering form of Cor, who began to close the distance toward the fight, a glowing two-handed maul in his grip.

Sitara was pouring every ounce she could out of the repulsors, even squeezing a little from the suits integrity field. Luckily for the others she had the comm’s on mute as she swore in ever more colourful way in her native Sanskrit.


And to add insult to injury just as she managed to arrive she began to take hits, without chance to redistribute her power system, enough to bring on another burst of quite colourful language. But finally everything was balanced correctly, her power pike was fully charged and more importantly she was in a position to actually hurt the enemy.

"Yeah, Mater. I'd appreciate the help. I--" Cavalier's gratification for Mater Vrynda's assistance was interrupted by artillery fire to the chest. He reeled in place, the gravitational anchors on his armor pushing so hard they almost broke in order to keep him from not rocketing back across the mansion lawn. He took an internal assessment as he righted himself: no apparent concussion, all his teeth in his head, and the armor wasn't compromised at all. Not that he expected the last bit, but still. 

 

"Gah. All right. Mater, if you've got any means of taking out the heavy artillery, I'd appreciate it. I'm going to clear the lawn." Cavalier opened fire, targeting the blaster at firearms and armor, aiming to knock down, incapacitate, and disable the various guards. No need to be too much of a bastard today.

Fire was the word of the day, as numerous blasts, both friendly and hostile, rained upon the battlefield. Both Mater Vyrdna and Cavalier came under fire of the enemy.

 

"WATCH OU-!" Vyrdnaya tried to warn her ally, but she was a second too late. Thankfully, only a single shot managed to graze him, but she wasn't sure if it was a flesh wound, or a deeper one. And she could nary spare more of her attention to her teammate, as soon trouble came looking for her, in the form of a hairy beast. She barely managed to put up her guard, as techno-organic matter from the back of her black jacket shot up and covered her arms, reinforcing them with something that looked like a malleable metallic alloy, at first sight.

 

"Hey! Careful with those. You could put someone's eye out!" She commented, as she resisted the pressure behind the furious slash of her opponent. "Zadvian, right? There's a couple of dead Lor bodies floating in space right now. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?" Mater Vyrdna asked, not really expecting a reply. Meanwhile Traveller arrived at the scene, just in time to become yet another target for the armed criminals, though Dragonid followed soon after, returning fire in the process.

 

Just then, Cavalier came up with a request. "The heavy artillery..." she peered through her guard, spotting the criminal who bore the anti-vehicle weapon in question. She noticed that he was flanked by a plenty more criminals. She smiled. "Consider it done, Cavalier!"

 

At once, she applied pressure to force her opponent off her, transforming the protective alloy to metalic dragon-looking wings, that looked big enough to cover her entire body, while her left hand had been morphed into a handcannon that resembled the head of a robotic dragon. With her wings extended, and a triumphant pose over Zadvian, she declared "Sorry to leave you hanging there, I'll come finish our talk in a bit."

 

Headed towards the criminal, she avoided the incoming fire by expertly flying around the incoming blasts she could dodge, and using her wings to slap aside the blasts she couldn't, until she started straffing. Getting herself into position, she opened fire with the Dragon Cannon, unleashing a burst of plasma energy on the move, that took out the fight out of all 7 of her lined up threats, while using her Mecha Wings to both balance her flight and absorb the shock of firing a big heavy cannon laser beam on the move. She'd made sure that the intensity of the beam would be just enough to cause intense pain and some vomiting. She then signaled at Cavalier with her right hand, when the deed was done. "Target down!"

Moon-moth finding himself right in the heart of a battle and floating where once there was a roof wastes no time and weighs in, quickly picking out one of the dozen super-max criminals and his escourt of lesser convicts he quickly creates a simply geometric cube from the mysterious moon silver at his command and flings it with a flick of a wrist, sending it whistling towards them and impacting with a boom!

Moon-Moth's silvery geometric cube slammed down at the group of criminals and Sullek.  Most of the criminals were unable to get out of the path of the magically created object, and were bludgeoned into unconsciousness.  One of the criminals was able to dive to one side, taking on an glancing blow, which he managed to resist.

Sullek meanwhile dove out of the path of the object, rolling back up to his feet completely unharmed.  The cyborg then turned to focus on where Cavalier hovered in the air, leaping up at the Star Knight and swinging his sword as he passed by to land back on the ground a short distance passed.  Luckily Cavalier saw Sullek leap toward him, and was able to dodge out of the way of the cyborg's sword. 

A rift in space opened near Mater Vyrdna, as Rux leapt out, slashing at with her plasma sword, which raked across Mater's back.  Rux then disappeared into another rift in space and vanished from sight as it closed back behind her.

Corona's aura flashed as Santri's beam struck it, their energies commingling and fighting against them. The Lor agent felt her body being torn apart, felt her strength being leeched away; then it came back with a flare and she surged forward, grabbing Santri's wrists and forcing his hands back until he couldn't point at her. "Yu are under arrest, by order of the Lor Republic," she growled, her face inches from his. "You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defense if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence."

With both Adiri and Varlis both unconscious and well in hand, Paradigm turned her attention back down toward the city below.  Accelerating downward, the Naram nearly broke the sound barrier as she quickly closed with the landing field where the Devotion was still sitting.  

Most of the rest of the Praetorians were gone, with only Seresk still out on the landing field, having taken down some of the rogue police drones that had wondered nearby.  Kharag was sitting on the ramp into the Devotion, one hand over the wound to his side.  Both looked up as Paradigm drew near, landing nearby and setting down the two unconscious supercriminals. 

"It appears you were successful in catching Varlis Imperatrix."  Sersek stated as he looked down at the unconscious reptilian speedster.  "As well as subduing Adiri." 

"Yes, she did not surrender willingly, but I was able to stun her and then knock her out."  Paradigm replied.  "Which way have the others gone." 

"That way, towards the governor's offices."  Seresk replied, pointing in the direction the other Praetorians had gone.

"Then I will be on my way."  Paradigm replied, as she rose back into the air to prepare to follow after the others.

After a quick check of her systems Sitara was again ready to throw herself into the action, though she made sure to check all the data coming into her armours systems. Picking her targets she quickly worked out the area and whether she could catch two of them together, without catching any of her allies in the burst.


With a quick flick to alter the powers pikes settings she sent a larger burst of energy downwards that expanded into a ball of energy that filled the area. Hopefully it would be enough to help thin out the opponents a little.
