Avalon
Thanks Barnum. It seems we do need it. Since Stygwyr beats Captain Wonder's Assessment check, what should the Captain learn about the Bloodseeker's bonuses? It says in the book that if he loses the opposed roll, the GM should over - or under-estimate the target's bonus. Who should tell him this? Or should we just wing it with over- or under-estimation? Btw, here's the roll: Bluff check against Assessment (1d20=14) Link to comment

Btw, here's the roll: Bluff check against Assessment (1d20=14) Well, given that Wonder's strategy is going to be to fly down and punch the demon in the face either way, it's mostly an issue of how he's going to roleplay it. And how hard he's going to hit. Oh, and given Wonder's Benefit as Champion of the Egyptian Pantheon, Stygwr probably has a pretty good chance of knowing who this particular embodiment of Lawful Good is... Link to comment
shazam
Huh, a critical hit! Well, the Toughness save DC goes up to 32. Captain Wonder's defense drops to six, if you can hit him a hundred feet in the air. Link to comment
Avalon
Wait, so we won't be rolling initiative? Link to comment
Avalon
Botched my toughness save: Toughness save against crit (1d20+10=12) I'll use my hero point to roll again. Here's the second roll: Toughness save against crit (2nd take) (1d20.minroll(11)+10=26) Stygwyr is stunned and bruised. Btw, I'll now only post my rolls here in the OOC so that the IC will look cleaner. Also, he fails the knockback by 8 so he goes flying 250 feet. Link to comment
shazam
Okay, point taken. Sorry about the init thing, I guess I'm more dependent on a ref than I thought I was. OK, just waiting on Stygwr's reaction to the punch, then. Link to comment
Avalon
Where do you want the direction of the knockback to be? I'll be flying 250 ft. from that hit of yours. Link to comment
shazam
Where do you want the direction of the knockback to be? I'll be flying 250 ft. from that hit of yours. South, towards Greenbank, and eventually the river. Link to comment
Avalon
How big is the West End anyway? Also, should we say we're fighting in the middle of the area? Link to comment
shazam
How big is the West End anyway? Not huge. Think the Bowery, not Brooklyn. Also, should we say we're fighting in the middle of the area? Well, if you started out chasing gangs, you're probably near Greenbank already, as it's one of the worst neighborhoods in the area. Link to comment

Avalon
Shall we treat your earlier attack as a surprise one and have the fight begin in earnest with an initiative roll? What do you think? Link to comment

Avalon
Will save against the demoralize (1d20+10=22) That demoralize was unsuccessful indeed. Initiative (1d20+6=10) Looks like you're up first. Link to comment

Avalon
Shaz, I'm using a Know (History) check to identify Captain Wonder. It can be any other knowledge check anyway since he doesn't have any knowledge ranks so this would only be an intelligence check. Here's the result: Knowledge (History) check (1d20=14) I figure it's a DC 10 check for an easy question. Am I right? Link to comment

Avalon
That's a DC 20 ref save against the snare by the way. Link to comment
shazam
Isn't there also an attack roll for Snare? (We're moving v. shortly and my books are packed up, sorry. =p) Link to comment
Avalon
Stygwyr has a shapeable area snare so there's no attack roll needed. Link to comment
