"They have chosen for us," Wraith observed, narrowing her eyes. "Move swiftly, strike hard, and do not allow the technicians to come to harm."

And then she was gone.

The young kinigosi put the 'quick' back into 'quicksilver' as she hurled into the group of antibodies, lashing recklessly at anything within reach - too recklessly, it seemed, to do any real damage. Her attention seemed to be on drawing their focus, however, and her movements left her with careful avenues out of the group should she be needed elsewhere...for however long she could keep it up. "I am Dirinai, warrior-caste of the Kinigosi," she announced; it would have been a polite introduction if her arms weren't flowing down into twin scythe-blades that looked like they could cut the light gleaming off their edges. "I am death. May your own reaper-gods be as merciful and swift as I."

If the antibodies felt any fear of Wraith’s announcement and attempted attack, they did not display it.  The cold, dead eyes of the now silver coated beings simply regarded the young kinigosi and those beyond her.

Then, half of those gathered in the courtyard surged forward and a rapid pace.  Four of these closed with Wraith, their own claws slashing out at the living metal alien.  Two of the attacks missed, as Wraith dodged aside, but two found their mark, their claws biting into Wraith’s metallic form.

The remaining group of antibodies moved around the kinigosi, moving past her as they rushed toward the rest of the group.

Bliss rolled her head on her shoulders and then skipped back, pulling tightly against the ground her tendrils to skip away from some attacks.  "Can we not be overly... DRAMATIC!?"  And then she pulled with her tendrils, and flung herself forward like a slingshot.  Twisting about she hit the first one with her feet like it was a flying dropkick.  Her arms swing back, and lashing out with her tendrils.  Slamming them into the faces of two more Communion creatures.

The former gladiator could not help but to be flashy, as that drew the crowds.  So as she landed, she spun and brought her arms around and brought the twin lashes about, hitting another Communion, before she was swinging that thing about into the fifth one, and making them crash into the sixth.  Bliss was making a bit of a heap about her.

She then pivoted and moved back to try and keep the breach she made open, hitting the last one in the face, only for it to have the temerity of not falling down.

"Why would there be anything wrong with being dramatic? One should strive to be larger-than-life!" Kharag replied, as he made short work of an antibody, punching it's head off, messily. If there was one positive thing from the Communion invasion is that these antibodies allowed him to unleash a lot of pent of fury and frustration. Which was a good thing as it meant he at least wouldn't inflict such wanton violence on anything sentient and capable of feeling pain.

"OBSERVE!" He shouted, thrusting his hands right through the metallic chest of antibody. Lifting the metallic creature overhead, he proceeded to rip it in half from the inside, pulling the creature apart, it's body coming loose in a rather horrific display. Had it been alive, that would have looked a dozen times worse. "HRAAAAAAAH! Such shame these creatures feel and think nothing! It is impossible to strike fear into them."

Ghost GIrl was about to zip off after Wraith and the others to engage the Communion forces when the technicians they'd brought with them caught her eye. We can't just sit here and let those fake zombies gather together and gang up on us. Corbin would say the important thing was keeping civilians safe and Eve would say that you need to recognize the real win condition and go for it! Circling back around to the Coalition scientists she waved and smiled in what she hoped was a fairly universal gesture. "<I know you can't understand what I'm saying but hang on!>" With a wave of her hands she lifted the whole group into the air, taking them out of reach of the groundbound antibodies and hurrying them toward their goal. If they could get the information they needed all the actual fighting would be unnecessary.

As the technicians rose off ground under the power of Ghost Girl, Dragonid hissed. They were now clear of the antibodies, as long as she could hold them up there, but they must pose an even more attractive target for the two needle fighters circling the area.

"I will watch the technicians in the air." He yelled, before taking off to chase off the fighters. Jetting ahead to bring the enemy in range, he breathed out a tight ball of hot fire, carefully guiding it across the sky to slam directly into the fighter's rear, consuming the whole thing in a massive explosion.

"I just hope I am too big a threat for the second to ignore."

The Lor technicians all seemed rather surprised as Ghost Girl lifted them up into the air and started carrying them towards the target building and to their objective.  But they soon relaxed as they realized that this would allow them to avoid any of the anitbodies that were still gathered in the courtyard below.

Of course, there was still one of the Communion needle fighters still in the immediate area.  The sleek silver space craft looped back around a building, speeding back toward the courtyard and the interlopers.  Bolts of green energy streaked across the sky as it opened fired once more, aiming at Dragonid.  But the Praetorian was more than ready to be the focus of the fighter, and dodged aside, the energy blasts going well wide and blasting holes in the computonium covered wall of a building a few blocks away.

"It is not about drama," Wraith insisted, eyeing the four antibodies that had surrounded her. She was still for only a moment, until one of them took it as an invitation to attack - and then she was gone, literally flowing around her enemy to reform on the other side and punish its aggression with a scythe through its back...and through the chest of a second off-guard antibody next to it. The third was...more fortunate, as the time it took to retrieve her arm and strike at it sideways was barely enough for it to raise its guard.

"It is about holding their attention - being bigger, stronger, louder. A threat. Besides," she added, yanking the other arm out of the impaled enemy in time to avoid an incoming swipe, "it is encouraging. It brings one's mind into the fight."

Even as Wraith slashed through two of the antibodies that had been surrounding her, the remaining two continued to go after the young Kinigosi.  But Wraith was able to dodge both attacks with relative ease.  Of course there were still more than a dozen more still in the courtyard close to the target building, now focused up on Ghost Girl and the technicians she was carrying through the air toward the building.

Back where Bliss and Kharag were still fighting, the remaining antibodies that had gone after the main group closed around the pair.  Three of the antibodies went after Bliss, slashing and clawing at her with their wicked claws.  While able to avoid two of the attacks, Bliss was not so lucky with the third, and the antibody's claws tore into her left shoulder.

Kharag managed to block the attack from one of the antibodies that came at him, but in doing so, left himself just a bit too open, allowing the second to land a hit on his right leg.

Weaving her way to her goal, Ghost Girl set the group of technicians down on the ground as softly as she could, giving them a big wave before ushering them to do what they'd come to do. "<I probably don't have to tell you guys to hurry, eh? Yeah, you've got this!>" With a final thumbs up that she wasn't sure translated particularly well, she turned about to look upward at the Communion vessels darting about overhead. Inhaling deeply even is she didn't actually have physical lungs to fill, the poltergeist let her lower jaw stretch impossibly and disconcertingly wide to unleash a torrent of icy fog that quickly settled in the air above the Coalition scientists. If anything wanted to attack them it was going to have to come up close and person to get a good look and Ghost Girl was ready and waiting.

Dragonid banked out of the way to avoid the Communion fighter's fire, then circled around to begin pursuit. The technicians were past the Communion now, and the heroes on the ground should be able to take care of the antibodies. Dragonid focussed on his target. Plenty of time to aim he sent another hot burst of fire streaking across the sky after the needle fighter. The fire exploded into the communion craft's wing. For a moment it seemed to have no effect, until the wing shuddered and the fighter spiraled out of control crashing in to the metallic landscape.

"The skies are mine." the dragonwarrior said, turning back to the situation on the ground.

Although the Lor technicians could not understand what Ghost Girl was saying, they seemed to understand the urgency of getting their job done as quickly as they could while the others held off the Communion.  The leader of the technicians wasted no time ordering his men to get to work, and they moved inside the building and began cutting their way through a wall to access the relays they were looking for.

Meanwhile out in the plaza, the whine of more Communion needle fighters echoed down the canyons formed by the buildings in the area, as another pair came into site, streaking toward the battle.  But the two fighters were focused on the figure in the air that had just dispatched the two previous fighters, both opening fire on Dragonid.   While one blast went wide, exploding along the exterior of a nearby building, one of the Communion fighters found its target, and a blast of green energy struck the reptilian Praetorian.

"You are welcome to the skies," Wraith concededs. She had finally found a rhythm: she was a dancer, moving to the beat of a drum you could almost hear by looking at her, ducking and weaving against incoming attacks with an unnatural, boneless grace.

Unfortunately for the communion, she was also a blender. Every duck and weave balanced a lash of her claws, bringing her close enough to a target to whip out a many-knifed hand on a too-long limb to cut through one of her enemies. "I shall remain on the ground," she observed, digging a hand into one Antibody for leverage as she pulled herself just out of the way of another attack - and punished the attacker by sending her other arm at its face. "Let us hope that our friends work quickly."

Even as Wraith cut through half a dozen of the Communion antibodies, more appeared to take their places.  Three moved toward the Kinigosi, their sharp claws slashing out at her.  But Wraith was ready for their attacks, weaving and dodging, and managed to avoid all three.

Bliss and Kharag also found themselves attacked by more antibodies, although each managed to avoid the attacks of those that came at them.  But even as antibodies attacked the trio, more moved past them, heading across the courtyard toward the strange fog that had formed around the building where the relays the Lor technicians had identified were located.

Kharag scowled as only a few antibodies came at him, most seeming to ignore him.  Calling out a challenge toward those that had moved past, the alien launched a powerful strike at one of the nearest antibodies.  But although the strike was well placed, the antibody withstood the attack with seemingly little effect.
