Ari
Investigative rolls would not go amiss. Link to comment
Tiffany Korta
Isn't it more search or notice to spot clues? Investigation I think is more forensics. Link to comment
Ari
Yes, that is what I meant, not to mention Knowledge(Arcane Lore) for possible reasons the dead man is bloodless, Wisdom/Intelligence to make better interpretations of clues, and so forth. Link to comment
Tiffany Korta
Notice has skill mastery for 24, Search if needed is unskiled for 1d20+1=13 and finally Knowledge (Arcane) 1d20+10=23. And if I find anything Wisdom roll of 1d20+2=9 Link to comment
Quinn
Crow has Skill Mastery on Notice, so Take 10 for 20; and Knowledge (Arcane Lore) is... Arcane Lore check! (1d20+10=21) - not bad at all! Link to comment
Ari
Notice detects order among the seeming chaos. The place was very intentionally tossed to look like it had been ransacked, intentionally messing things up to confuse any search. Blodeuwedd's Search, while informed of this, fails to discover what was meant to be hidden aside from a scrap of paper torn from a book, scribbles with pen saying only "Stay away from windows. Keep out of forest. Do not speak to horse" in the dwarf's hand. It had been used as a bookmark in one of several books on a shattered shelf, most of them having something to do with the old myths of Camelot. Knowledge(Arcane Lore) both of them make, and they realize that a horribly likely reason for the bloodless injury is that whatever struck him down had the power of shadow, draining his very life away. A look through the Chessboard certifies that there is residual Shadow power in the wound. Mixed with what can only be Fey magic. Cerys figures that there aren't any signs of forced entry or a struggle. Whoever killed the dwarf must have either snuck in or been let in. Link to comment
Quinn
Translation of the Irish Gaelic: "Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And may perpetual light shine upon them. May his soul and the souls of the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace." Due to the dead. *takes off hat* Link to comment
Ari
Requested an Arcane Lore check(so as find the passages in Wharton Forest from Earth to the Faery underworld) for Crow. DC20 lets him have a good idea where the most likely one is. Quinn took ten with a bonus of +10, so that's good! Link to comment
Quinn
Feh. Redcaps. Crow was terrorizing over their weight class when he was in his early teens. Activating full Concealment, and approaching with STEALTH CHECK (1d20+15=29). Let's remind them why we don't cotton to their kind hangin' around our city's forests, hm? Link to comment
Ari
Notice rolls(x20): none mark his presence as the duo gets nearer, and that will carry over to actually going into the main den if he chooses to do so. Same with Blodeuwedd if TiffanyKorta wants to try her luck too. If any of them had gotten a 20 I'd have ruled that a success, though then they'd have been met in the tunnel without spoiling the larger ointment. The Redcaps are represented by their stats in the Book of Magic with the addition of plentiful Regeneration. Link to comment
Tiffany Korta
Complete visual concealment and Skill Mastery on Stealth for a total of 30. Link to comment
Quinn
Right then. Crow's going to first pass De Plan to Blodeuwedd (short form - he's the stick, she's the carrot. And the carrot is ON FIRE.), then he's going to sneakity-sneak-sneak up to behind the Black Knight's throne. Real sneaky-like. Then he's gonna just stand there, all quiet, and tilt his head juuuust right. And then slowly drop the Concealment. And take-20 on Intimidate with Skill Mastery. DC 30 save against that from EVERYBODY please. > (Except Blod, 'cos she's awesome). Edited March 17, 2014 by Quinn Link to comment
Ari
The Redcaps cannot make that, even with natural 20s, so they flee. The Knight's roll: 25. Shaken. Link to comment
Ari
So, Initiative: the Black Knight goes on 27. Link to comment
Tiffany Korta
Blodeuwedd Initiative: 1d20+9 17 Link to comment
Ari
The Knight commences...by taking a Total Defense(+6 to Def) stance, and Bluffing Blodeuwedd to try and Trick her into striking the first blow: 30. Sense-Motive or Bluff check, please. Link to comment
Tiffany Korta
You know that she has one of the highest Sense Motive out almost of everyone and yet you pull this on me, that's just so mean . Anyway she can't make it through skill mastery so this time she'll have to roll Sense Motive: 1d20+16 34. Booyah still queen of the motive sensing . Link to comment
