An attractive woman in her early twenties, Jade is a mix of Japanese and American heritages. Her skin is light brown, perhaps a little too light to be considered asian and a little too dark to be considered caucasian. She tend to favor her mother in the face. Her eyes are almond shaped, though she does take her eye color from her father's side of the family (particularly her grandmother). Her lips are full and she seems to have some kind of smirk on her face all the time. She has long silky hair which she mostly leaves down except when sparring or fighting. Then she ties it in a quick bun. After many years of hard work and working out, her body is fit and tight with a well-endowed and curvaceous figure.

In her civilian identity she wears very casual attire; baby tees for a top, hiphugger pants and slip on sandals for shoes. Of course, she wears a coat if it's cold. She wears very little make up, only enough to accentuate her features, but not enough to be seen. She wears a chain with Army dogtags on them, one is her father's and the other is one she had made for herself. Even though she doesn't have a secret identity, she does wear a costume of sorts. It's a southern-style kung fu uniform; loose black leggings, a more formfitting sleeveless red top. She also ties her hair up in looped braids.

Power Descriptions:

Due to her soul bond with her past life, she has the ability to speak to and understand animals. When she talks to them it sounds like she's speaking their language to them, but she's not making animal noises while doing it. She just talks normally and they understand it in their way. She hearts regular human speech when they talk, even though they are making animal noises.

Her physical standings have doubled. She can lift twice as much! She's twice as flexible! Twice as hardy! Though this does not affect her appearance any.

She has the ability to run fast and jump higher than any normal animal in the mortal realm. Back in Arcadia, these were normal speeds for her kind.

She can hear very sharply. Her ears honed to the point of knowing where someone stands by hearing them. This makes it very easy to jump out of the way when someone tries to surprise her!

History:

This story starts in a previous lifetime. Talia, as she was so named back then, was born into the rabbit courts of Arcadia. Being the first born of the liaison to the animal courts, she was raised to take over her mother's duty. Talia did not want to "play talky games" with the other courts, she wanted to have fun! Still, she knew that this was important, so she went along with it, if half-heartedly. War was always brewing between the courts, but there were a few alliances. The rabbits depended on the lions to protect them from the wolves (there were many others, but this is the one that matters now). Talia and the wolf liaison, Lucian, happened to get along fine. The lion liaison, Ariav, however was a "big stuffy jerk".

Talia and Lucian's relations grew into more than business. Unfortunately for blindly love struck Talia, this was just a powerplay by the wolves. Talia and Lucian's affair was short. One night, while sleeping in her lover's arms, the wolf court struck. The pack of wolves tore Talia apart swiftly. But the wolves cunning was diabolical. They didn't make it look like THEY did it, no, they set it up to make it look like a lion attack, implicating Ariav (who they killed earlier that night). Lucian delivered Talia's body to the rabbit court and told them a story about how the lions attacked and killed Talia. The rabbits severed ties with the lions, leaving a big hole in the rabbits security. They turned to the wolves for protection. This was not a smart idea at all.

Talia's soul, however, was safeguarded. Her mother had the court vizier find it before it went on and fling it back into the life stream. Before doing so, they attached a purpose to it. It would eventually remember it's former life and come back.

Jade was always a bright girl. Ever since she could walk she was doing something athletic. She did acrobatics and practiced several types of martial arts. It didn't stop there! she was always interested in taking pictures. She always had a camera on hand to get the perfect shot of something. Finally, she was fascinated with animals. She found something of a kinship with them. Not that she wasn't good at communicating with people, on the contrary.

Everything was pretty much normal. She just had a busy life Some thought her life would come crashing down if she was to juggle one more thing. That one more thing happened on her twenty-first birthday. Working as an animal groomer, she was tending to a rabbit. She would talk to the animals she groomed, she found it soothed them. Along with cajoling them to be calm, she would randomly talk about her day. She confided in the rabbit that while she wasn't thrilled about working on her birthday, it was something she liked doing. The rabbit wished her a happy birthday. Jade stop then and there and looked at the rabbit and the rabbit looked at her. Jade thought she had lost her damn mind. She asked if the rabbit could understand her and the rabbit said yes. After their conversation, the grooming was done and her shift was over.

Jade was perplexed. She could talk to animals. She didn't know what to do now. Who to turn to in this very weird situation. Over the next few nights, she began having vivid dreams and nightmares about rabbits. Some were happy little warm feelings, others were frightening. Particularly some were both! Every time she had the dream about a black wolf it seemed it would court her affections and when she would pet or hug the beast it would savagely rip her apart. Every time. This was not the only reoccurring dream. There was one with a woman with rabbit features trying to talk to her, but she couldn't hear it. The rabbit woman looked scared and the dram would always end with Jade forming into a ball and fusing with a baby.

These dreams lasted for several weeks. She asked the animals what they meant, but they had no answer for her. She decided to check herself into a psychologist and tell him about her dreams. The doctor listened to her, but he had no solace for her. A couple of months later the dreams and nightmares had died down, but she felt empty without them.

And then one night, she got the dream of the rabbit woman, except this time she could talk. The rabbit woman called her Talia. She said that Talia was the only one who could fix this animal court massacre. When Jade woke up she wasn't in her bed, she was in a field of animal people. To the left of her was rabbit people. To the right of her were wolf people and what stood before her was a very large lion man. Jade had a lot of questions, but she couldn't speak! The rabbit woman stepped up to ask her a question. Who killed Talia. Jade instinctively pointed to the wolf group. She felt her heart sink as she did. Several of the wolves were seized by a group of lions and torn to pieces. The lion man thanked Jade for her help.

Afterwards she was approached by the rabbit woman again. The rabbit woman told her of her past life as Talia. The rabbit woman then gave her a kiss in the cheek and told her to take the spirit of the rabbit court back to the mortal realms. The rabbit woman told her to protect the animals there, especially of the rabbits. She fell asleep again and woke up in her own bed. She felt a lot lighter and she could hear things very sharply. She ran out side in a flash and then jumped very high! She was overjoyed, but now she had a job to do. She transferred her transcripts to Freedom City University. She was going to need all the help she could get from fellow heroes.

Personality & Motivation:

A high energy type, she never seems to slow down. She's always doing something, always going at top speed. She has little time for herself. The only time she does make for herself is training her martial arts moves, and that's usually with someone else. She teaches newbies if they ask. She spars with equals. If anything, she's never alone.

Her attitude is always optimistic. She never gives into doubt, hers or others. She's a bit stubborn in that manner. That good will prevail. That the right choice will always made. Justice is served!

Powers & Tactics:

Jade is a trained martial artist. Her style is quick, fast paced blows. That doesn't mean she can't mix it up with the powers she has! Zipping around the field fighting more than one at a time of she so needs. She can take fliers by surprise with her jumping skills also, pulling off aerial combos! She plas head games with her targets. On top of always moving, she's always taunting. There's always a chance to use a quip!

Math adds up and the fluff looks good, so: :approved:

Since you're going for a Spider-man vibe here and knowing that you haven't had much exposure to the genre, I'm going to suggest watching at least the first season of The Spectacular Spider-man the first chance you get. Besides the titular character, it has a number of animal-themed villains and should give you a better idea of how that sort of thing is handled in a setting like this.
