Early Withdrawals are Punishable by Superheroes

It was a lovely afternoon, a bit chilly, perhaps, but that was to be expected on the east coast. Either way, people hustled about the streets, going to and fro on their daily business. The street was choked with early afternoon traffic, and the banks were only two hours from being shut down for the day. All in all, it was an ordinary day.

None of the people on the streets saw the woman jump to the top of the bank, and no one saw the strange cloud of swirling dust drift around lazily about in the wind. At least, not until it was too late.

The young woman behind the counter could hardly believe her day. She'd dealt with rude customers, a sick child, and now, a supervillain in her bank!

Within seconds, the alarm was hit, the villain was cursing, and attention had been drawn to the bank at the wrong time, much to the two would-be-robbers dismay.

Alicia woke up kind of tired. Cold weather always did that to her. Luckily the cold months were almost over. She unfurled herself from the foetal position she had been laying in and stretchyawned. She always wondered how she slept. Sometimes she'd wake up on her side, sometimes on her stomach. Though never on her back, her wings prevented that. Wiping her eyes and shaking her head she bounded off for the shower.

Another thing about cold weather that bummed her is that she had to wear a jacket or coat. Something to over her top half. Which meant getting specially made stuff. That wasn't the problem. The problem was that no matter how well made it was, they always felt restrictive on her wings. Her outfit for today was her regular red blouse and skirt (the longer one, due to the weather), but covered by a red wool long coat.

Other than that, today was just perfect. No business today, so she had to find other ways to entertain herself. She decided to make a day plan. A matinee showing of the Lorax was first on the list. After that she WOULD have went to lunch at Champions, but fate intervened. It was a familiar sound. Not hat she heard it often, but one of the sounds that made her see the light. A bank alarm. Without question or even word, she flew as fast as she could towards the scene. It was time to put the mundane behind her and be a hero.

Thomas was, at that moment, sitting on a bench a few miles away from the bank, reading a book in the park. Two police officers were taking their break nearby, eating sandwiches purchased from a nearby food stand.

"Got a robbery, we've been called..." One of them said, they both quickly hopped into the cruiser and took off.

Thomas placed his book in his bag and slung it over his shoulder, a bank robbery could be problematic.

He took off jogging inconspicuously and, once he was sure nobody could see him, changed into his costume and took off. He placed his bag on top of a nearby building, in a spot he was sure nobody would go.

With a rush, Voltage took off towards the bank at top speed, knowing he would be there momentarily.

Velveteen was out in costume, 'patrolling'... sort of. With so many heroes in this city it was a real challenge finding some evil to thwart before one of her peers did. So she ended up racing a bunch of parkour enthusiasts, holding back enough to give them a fighting chance.

Then her sensitive ears picked up the telltale ring of a bank alarm and she rocketed off towards it with a leap that no normal human could ever hope to match. Moments later she's standing on a roof across the street, trying to get a lay of the land before jumping in.
