1. Where is your hero from?

Quintessence is originally from Connecticut. He moved to Freedom City soon after acquiring his powers.

2. How would your hero physically describe himself? Is this different from how others would?

Quintessence is a large man. He has an extremely muscled physique. He has pale white skin which never seems to tan, light brown hair that is cut close to his scalp. Even though Quintessence is such a large man he still moves with the grace of a dancer or gymnast.

3. Does your hero have distinguishing speech characteristics or recurring mannerisms?

Quintessence has a New England accent. He has no other speech anomalies.

4. What is your hero's motivation?

Quintessence feels he has a responsibility to use his powers to help others. Even without powers he had been planning on a career where he could help people. He could not see himself doing anything else after growing up with his father as an example.

5. What are your hero's greatest strengths and weaknesses?

Quintessence’s greatest strength is his sense of purpose. He is determined and does not let anything stand in his way. His greatest weakness is inexperience. He is young and does not have much experience.

6. What does your hero love? What does your hero hate?

Quintessence loves the people he protects. Always in his mind is what he can do to help the people that he lives and works with. Quintessence hates a bully. Whether it be an opportunistic thug preying on the weak, of a super villain attacking a crowd of innocents he cannot stand the sight of a bully.

7. How would you describe your character's mental and emotional state?

Quintessence has had some trauma and sadness in the past. The death of his parents made him angry and driven to find out everything he could about Aliens. He is fast to anger, but he does not lose his temper easily.

8. What does your hero fear the most?

Quintessence’s greatest fear is the inability to protect those close to him. He is terrified that he will fail to protect his sister, because his sister is all the family he has left.

9. What is your character's greatest ambition?

Quintessence hopes to become an example of his moral ideals. He wants to inspire people to become more than they think they can be.

10. How does your hero feel about the state of the world and his/her place in it?

Quintessence thinks the world has problem, but there is only so much he can do about it. No matter how powerful a single person is he cannot save the world by himself. The most he can hope to do is help whenever he can.

11. Does your hero have any prejudices? How does he/she get along with others?

Quintessence has two prejudices. He has a small obsession with aliens, since the death of his parents during the crash of an alien space ship. He also goes hard on bullies. He cannot stand people who pick on the week.

12. Where do your heroes loyalties lie? In what order?

Quintessence’s loyalty is as follows. His sister Jennifer is his top priority, Followed by any innocents. Then his team members come after innocents and then any villains. Evryone needs to be protected, even if it is from themselves.

13. Does your hero have a lover or partner? How do they feel about the hero now?

Quintessence has never had a serious girlfriend, and since he has acquired his powers he has been reluctant to become involved with anyone.

14. Does your hero have a family? What is the relationship there like?

Quintessence has a sister. She is his only remaining family. Their relationship is on good terms. Jennifer is only one year younger them him, they live together in a small two bedroom apartment in The Fens. They are very close, but she does not know about his secret identity.

15. How would the people closest to your hero describe him or her?

Most people would say James is a quiet man. He tries not to draw attention to himself. His alternate identity has a different personality. He feels less restrained when in costume. He is more outgoing and does not feel the need to restrain himself.

16. Is your hero a role model?

Yes, everything he does he does in mind of the message it sends. He tries to uphold the highest moral standards, even if he does not always succeed. When he fails he picks himself up and tries to do better next time.

17. How spiritual is your hero? Does your hero follow a religious tradition?

Quintessence was raised catholic, but he is currently lapsed. He does not follow any particular religion.

18. Is your hero part of a team, or would he/she like to be? Why?

Quintessence is not currently part of a team, but he would be interested in a membership. He feels he would have a lot to offer in a team that can complement his abilities.

19. How does your hero feel about the place of metahumans and aliens on Earth?

Quintessence believes that metahumans are people. They have the same rights and responsibilities as everyone else. Aliens are a harder topic for Quintessence. He has to take each one as they come. He is angry for the role an alien had in the death of his parents, but he does not hold all aliens responsible.

20. If you could give one piece of advice to your hero, what would it be?

Do not hold yourself responsible for everything that you fail to stop. Do what you can, but don’t put too much on yourself.

Just a reminder that your 20Q should look like this as far as depth. The example there is definitely"err on the side of story", you don't have to have that much, but in general your 20Q should at least have the skeleton of a story around it.
