Rose smiled through her spacesuit, "So there is something out there?" She looks out into the vast blackness of space, unable to see their target. "No sense waiting around here, I guess. We could try flying out there?" She'd spent the last minute or so making sure that her flight did, in fact, work in weightlessness. It did. "We could cover two miles reasonable quickly, and we'd be much harder to see." She turns from space to Emissary, "Of course, what we're going to do after that is another thing entirely."

“Hmmm.†Velocity said with a slight frown. “I’m not sure if I would be so quick to call things empty.†She said, and then sped through the hole created to better examine the inside of the hanger.

Velocity sped into the darkness of the hangar but had to put on the breaks to keep from colliding with a . . . giant . . . something, a something that wasn't there just seconds before. As Velocity backed up to get a look at it, she saw that it was a giant package, wrapped for Christmas. The "box" was probably twenty feet wide, twenty feet deep, and at least 30 feet tall. The "wrapping" was solid green and the whole thing was held together by a giant red bow. There was no sign of movement, or sound, or anything else from the box.

The Emissary and Valkyrie exited the jet and began flying through the weightlessness of space toward their destination. The Earth below looked unbelievably large and blue and beautiful. At first they couldn't even see their target, but knew the coordinates, and there were a few tense moments when they could no longer see the jet and still couldn't see their target. But eventually they flew close enough to the "station" to get a good look.

The space station was more like a space platform. It had a long "deck" that roughly resembled the deck of an aircraft carrier, and at the far end was some kind of structure. It was a geodesic dome made from some unknown shiny material. From this distance, in the vastness of space, it was impossible to tell just how large the platform was.

Talking to Valkyrie via the communicator to ensure he was heard, Emissary pointed to the dome.

"We will do a wide arc from a distance around to the back and see if there might be a way to seek entrance that way, or possibly underneath it, instead of walking along the deck."

Focusing his gaze on the structure, he moved to fly as he had noted, hoping the distance and arc of their approach might still keep them from full notice.

The giant Christmas present just sat there. No sound. No movement. Nothing.

As the heroes circled around in their approach to the space platform, they noticed two things. First, there appeared to be something moving along the top surface of the platform itself. They would have to get a lot closer and approach from the right angle to make out what those things were. Second, based on the positions of lights on the platform, there appeared to be several hatches for entrance into the dome. One on the very top. On on the bottom of the platform itself and one at the base of the dome where the dome probably opened out onto the "deck" of the platform.
