Crow Comes Home To Roost (IC) (Open)

Corbin's back instinctively arched. Thankfully, none of the snow went down his pants. He turned to glare at Morgan, the mortar fading without fanfare as he spoke.

"You are so lucky I don't get cold like I used to, and that that didn't go beyond the shirt. Still, I guess I need to teach you a lesson."

With that, a formless cloud of energy scooped up a fair bit of snow, and whirled around a bit until Corbin was holding a rather snazzy-looking Ballzooka replica that was rather obviously fully loaded with snowballs.

Unfortunately, his next shot went wide.

"Stop moving bird boy!"

Etain laughed again as the energy formed the blue snow gun but it missed it's target complete. But instead of commenting on it, she kneeled to scoop up a snowball. Once she had patted it into good form, she pulled out her phone and after a few clicks quickly and simulatainiously threw a snowball straight at Morgan's head while holding her camera steady as soon as it left her hand to record the results.

"Ariel interception! Danger close!" Brian Harris, surrounded by the characteristic red glow of his energy powers, swung out of the air in a wide arc. He was dressed in a casual outfit of jeans and a leather jacket, but he seemed as unconcerned as Corbin with the cold; more importantly, his arms were loaded with a double handful of snowballs and his red eyes were shining with glee as he strafed the blue-tinted energy controller. "Foul! No heavy artillery on school grounds!"

This is gonna get out of hand really, REALLY fast.

Arcturus picked up another huge paw full of snow. This time, though, he didn't drop any of it, flashing that big, toothy grin of his, even as the newcomer came flying over. Rather than chase Etain, he hurled the huge snowball at the closest target--Corbin.

And then, he ran like hell.

Crow let out a hooting laugh as Corbin's shot went wide, turning his head just in time to get a snowball right in the kisser. He blinked the whiteness out of his eyes, giving a positively murderous look to the racing Etain.

"Of course you know, this means war."

The other student diving from the sky surprised him, of course, causing him to leap behind a nearby snowbank for cover. Chuckling evilly, he took a huge armful of snow, bigger than one of Arc's pawfuls...and vanished again. Promptly reappearing above the flying Glowstar.

"BANZAI!"

And he vanished again...but left the now-falling pile of snow in the air. Which promptly dropped, barely missing the airborne hero. A torrent of Gaelic swear-words came from behind the snowbank.

While the snow may have missed the hero in the air, it landed squarely on the head of another student. Granted it was hard to tell where the snow stopped and her hair began since they were both almost the same shade of white. Her red eyes glared at the snowbank where the Gaelic curses emanated. Scooping up a handful of snow she packs it into a round ball before vanishing in a puff of white and red smoke, more appearing around her new location behind Crow.

With a heave she sends the snow flying while her teleportation allows her to escape retaliation for her retaliation.

Snow is now flying everywhere. Corbin, being an intelligent lad, starts moving. Maybe it'll be harder to hit him.

"Ha! It's like one of those movie shootouts! But colder!"

Suddenly, he whips his aim around to fire back at the bear that had just pelted him with a snowball. Sadly, his Snowzooka failed him, and the shot went wide and wild. Hopefully he didn't hit another student!

"Aw man, should have know that everything's worse with bears!"

There's nothing but laughter in his voice; clearly he's not seriously trying to hurt Arc's feelings.

Moving quickly through the chaos Etain managed to avoid any and all instances of the snow hitting her. Though it didn't mean she didn't have counter targets. Corbin might of been one of them, but he'd only be deemed threat worthy if he ever managed to hit anybody. Rolling the snowball in her hand she smiled at her new aerial target, taking a second she almost threw but found that she didn't have good footing and need to take a few steps back so as not to fall. Now with a better position she sent her snow flying to hit one of the two new contenders.

The snowball hit the glowing mutant full in the face, and he hovered in the air, spluttering and wiping his eyes. "Hey! No fair attacking the air cav! We're supposed to be the ones that rescue the heroes, when all else fails! Like this!" Looping around again, he gathered an armful of snow and oriented on Etian. He hummed some appropriate Wagner as he cruised in low, then climbed at the last moment, releasing the powder all at once.

Wisp grabs another handful of white powder from her current hiding spot on a nearby roof, quickly compacting it into another missile. With a heave she chucks it towards Glowstar. "Take the sky, take the battle," she called with a smile, watching the ball strike him in the shoulder.

Corbin looked around himself, surveying the ever-growing snowball fight. Then he smiled a devious smile.

"Hahaha! You all have done nothing but give me a target-rich environment!"

His Snowzooka disappeared, and bright blue energy whirled about his form for several moments. The snow levels around him noticeably dropped.

Finally, the glow faded, revealing Corbin's new attire. There was a mad grin upon his face as snow began to roar out from the incredible contraption, flying every which way around him.

"Hahaha! So much snow! Dance, dance for my amusement!"

It had been quite some time since Marcus had been able to relax and use his abilities for something not serious; Corbin's comment only made him laugh as he realized that he was probably the largest target in the courtyard. Still with most everyone focused on the sky, he went largely ignored, and tried to build himself a shelter from the snow. He barely got it up to his knees when Corbin suddenly changed tactics. The big bear's jaw went slack for a minute.

"...oh come on!"

All he could do was duck and cover, shifting back to his human form to make himself a smaller target behind his hastily built wall.

Victoria watched the snow balls pelt around her, smoke puffing into being in several places around the area, dodging snowballs arcing up towards the roofs. "Hmm, maybe I should have fortified up her before taking shots at people... ," she muttered to herself, "Oh well." She kept dodging the frozen missiles, waiting for a pause. Once finding it she yelled in Russian, "Каждый, получить парень Ñпортивный 'Дакка КоÑтюм'!"

Etain would of reacted much like Marcus did, if not for the fact that she was too busy laughing. Even as she very nearly was knocked over by the resulting onslaught of snow. It was hilariously ironic since while being an amitiable target while never once hitting Corbin finally pulled out the big guns. It was also just funny just how rediculous his attire looked, though she probably was not one to talk. The laugh subsided to a giggle as she spied the girl with light hair on the roof and yelled,

"Descende inde dicunt sermone possum intellegere!"

With that she rolled a snowball that flew true to the face of the only other girl competitor.

Crow appeared, midway through his Gaelic swear, just as he caught a glimpse of Corbin's new form.

". . .Cac."

A barrage of snowballs flew every which way around him, and he ducked and weaved with catlike grace and agility. Several came dangerously close to hitting him...and he grinned. A rune on the back of his coat smoked and burned, and Crow clapped his hands together, then slammed them on the ground. A great burst of snow erupted around him, and when it cleared, Crow stood atop a decently-sized snow fort, complete with a small turret, crenellations, and firing slits, and the piece de resistance being a flagpole atop the turret with the flag of Ireland snapping in the breeze. He held up both his hands in V-signs, laughing.

"You heard the lady! Take cover and return fire!"

Then he ducked back down behind the walls, packing snowballs for a retaliating salvo.

With a puff of her bi-colored smoke, Victoria vanished from her latest rooftop perch and next to Crow behind the walls.

"Nice work with the snowcastle. It's actually kinda comfy in here," she whispers, hoping her smoke gave her new location away. Quickly she started packing snowballs and passing them to Crow to throw at will.

Corbin glanced at the chaos around him. Hm. Seems that hadn't worked that well, either. Time to take cover.

"You're not the only one with instant forts!"

With that, his powers reached down around him, rapidly shaping and compressing the snow inside fields of strangely cold flames. Before long, he had a one-man fort set up, and he was crouched inside of it, quickly packing together a couple of snowballs.

"Someone's going to end up ruing something about today! There will be ruing, I tell you!"

Brian floated towards the ground, touching down well outside of the firing lane between the two fortresses. By chance he found himself standing next to Etain. He waved an arm, encompassing the snow fort and the energy fort, and asked her, "Do you sometimes think you got gypped on the whole 'phenomenal, cosmic powers' thing?" He gave her a lop-sided grin and added, laughing, "Unless you've got a pocket castle or something that you're planning on pulling out next!"

"I do not plan to use my powers, so I have no reason to feel cheated."

Smiling as she did so, she reached down, scooped up a snowball and threw it right into the peek hole of Corbin's blue fort hitting him on the side of his head. Opening her umbrella she set it on her shoulder,

"Besides, this changes very little, if they think they can win by these extravigant displays, than by all means, bring it on."

There was way too much firepower being brandished around for Marcus to feel comfortable. Rather than continuing to lob snowballs the conventional way, he ducked and crawled his way through the snow, ending up somewhere in the vicinity of Etain and Glowstar.

"Okay, this is just getting silly." He shook snow off his clothes and jacket as he stood up, trying to stay out of the current firefight. "When did this turn into a 'quien es mas macho' shootout?" He made sure he was behind Etain as he said it, not wanting to draw any more fire for the moment.

Brian shook his head at Etain's shield, raging at her over-dramatically. "No honor in that," he declared. The young man thought back to watching episodes of Star Trek with his father and reached for his best Klingon impersonation. "A true warrior is ever on the attack! Like this!" He reached down and packed a small snowball, making sure it was well-rounded and fit easily into her hand. He lobbed it up, up - way too high up, at first glance, since it rose higher than either snow fortress. He was vindicated, though, when the snowball reached its apogee and dropped behind the battlements of Corbin's castle, splattering the other boy's head with snow.

  • 2 weeks later...

Rift rubbed his hands as he hovered far over the battlefield forged in snow and ice. Two teams trapped in deadlock as each was under siege by the opposition as this improvised war was starting to heat up! Who would be the victor who shall walk away triumphantly?

It surprised Warren sometimes how he could someone make anything seem dramatic in his head. He let that though float around in the back of his head. He landed on the roof of one of the nearby buildings and unslung his guitar from his back, quickly adjusting Machine Heads as fast as his cold ands could manage. "Well then. This has everything except a kickass soundtrack." Warren announced, his voice projected over everyone while making sure only they heard it. He quickly fished a guitar pick out of his duster and pulled up his Sound Barrier (Just in case of incoming snowballs) "Lets fix that!" He said with grin as he started playing, playing as best as he could even with the cold biting into his fingertips and let his powers of warping sound change his voice into a perfect copy of David Draiman.

Gotta make those self, heating gloves that don't interfere with hand movement. He thought briefly as he played.

"Real honorable, all ganging up on-"

Corbin stops his rant, clearly thinking about something.

"I guess I deserved it after that stunt a moment ago."

Suddenly, he jumps upright, throwing a nicely packed snowball directly at Glowstar's face.

"Does this make me a true warrior?"
