Vignette for November 2010: Meet Up

Recommended Posts

FC:PbP is offering the community another "vignette" opportunity. If you'd like to read about our previous vignettes, check here.

November. For Americans, this mainly means Thanksgiving, which for most is an excuse to gather together with friends and family and gorge themselves. A few use the time to reflect on their lives, on the past year, and give proper appreciation for all in their life.

At FC PbP, we allow you to play two (and in some cases more!) characters. Show thanks for this by writing a tale in which your own characters meet. Perhaps they chat, or fight due to a misunderstanding, or one saves the life of another -- the choices are many and varied.

Who: Any player who is interested, for two (or more) of their characters.

What: Write a vignette featuring your characters meeting and interacting with one another. Length should be at least one (1) page per character involved.

When: The deadline for submissions will be Tuesday, November 30th by 11:59 PM EST (GMT -5). The vignettes themselves can take place at any time.

Where: Anywhere. When you submit your vignette, please make a note clearly indicating in which forum it should be posted, as well as when it would be happening.

Why: To enhance our community, to flex your writing muscles, to think more deeply about your characters, and to earn a bonus PP for your characters (the ones involved in this Vignette) for the month of November.

How: Once your story is finished and proofed, PM it to one of the Refs (angrydurf, AvengerAssembled, Ecalsneerg, Geez3r, ShaenTheBrain, or myself). When all the stories are in, one of our staff members will post them to the appropriate forums (which is why we need you to be sure to tell us where it should go!), and provide links to them in this thread. DO NOT post them in a forum yourself, otherwise it will not be counted for this exercise.

Additional Not/Clarification: Vignettes do not count as posts.

Post here with questions.

Also, if you only have one PC, you may do a duet with another player who has only one PC.

EDIT: However, in keeping with the theme of the Vignette -- chars meets who would not otherwise normally meet -- have them do so in a place or manner that would not typically come up. Perhaps they encounter each other in the civilian ID while grocery shopping, or in the ladies' room, or at a sporting event.
