Looking for Trouble (IC)

Supercape was having one of those day's of nice relaxing heroics. He had just rescued a cat from a tree for a little old lady, after preventing a minor train disaster just previously. Nothing to difficult. Very rewarding. No moral problems.

By golly, sometimes it was easy, this hero stuff.

He had just alighted atop a rooftop to revel in the evening and take in the sunshine. Yes, he was finally beginning to feel at home in this city, and at last, in his cape...

Tonight was the night that Flux was finally going to catch some bad guys. At least, that was the plan. Flux had meandered through the West End, through the old neighborhoods, through the projects, through the Italian Village, around Main Street, through the playgrounds and buildings of the high school Flux once attended, looking for signs of the gang activity Flux had known as a youth, or anything else that seemed out of place. It was quiet tonight. Too bad.

Was it too quiet? Flux halted his patrol atop the abandoned Walix building at the corner of Main and Tolbert. From here, looking down Main Street, Flux didn't see anything. But looking down Tolbert revealed something of interest. Tolbert was a street far less traveled than Main, of course. Flux knew that several apartment buildings on Tolbert had recently been boarded up when the owner was sued to within an inch of his life. Served him right, that slum lord. If the apartment buildings were all boarded up and condemned, what were all those people doing down there?

Flux sneaked towards the row of abandoned buildings. Sure enough, he found dozens of people moving around among the buildings. At first, Flux thought these could be gang-bangers. But no, these were too tall to be kids and moved too ridigly. These were adults and wearing... uniforms? Flux moved in for a closer look. These men were hooded, wearing some sort of black bodysuits and grey smocks. Carrying guns and rifles. Who the heck were these guys... and what were they doing in the projects?

As Flux watched, it was clear that these strange men were interested in one building in particular; perhaps half of them were congregated in one spot. Flux also noticed that these guys had brought a pair of 10-wheeler trucks with them and the trucks were backed up to the building. It appeared that these men were bringing something out of the condemned building and loading it into the trucks. Flux moved in closer, trying to get a read on exactly what the men were doing. As he did, Flux felt a gun barrel against his temple.

"Freeze, mein herr!"

Flux (Initiative 16)

Instinctively, Flux activates his force field. He could hardly believe that it wasn't up already. Foolish, foolish. Got lucky... this time.

- Free Action: Activate Force Field

The shielded hero turns to see FOUR gun-toting men leveling their barrels his way. Flux knew that these guys wouldn't be too much trouble, but there were a lot more of them within earshot.

Seeing a dumpster nearby, Flux kinetically lifts the large container, flips it over, and drops it over the gunmen.

- Standard Action: Use Move Object to trap the gunmen in the dumpster.

I suppose Flux should make ranged attack rolls against each of the SHADOW guys. Not sure how else this would work. Anyway, here are the rolls:

Minion #1: 18

Minion #2: 12

Minion #3: 21

Minion #4: 19

Looking for Trouble... Ranged attack rolls using Move Object (1d20+10=18, 1d20+10=12, 1d20+10=21, 1d20+10=19)

He then turns to see if anyone else noticed this.

GM

The dumpster, complete with rather unpleasant garbage, settled neatly over the four men, who looked up startled and bewildered at the feat of telekinesis.

Only the man nearest Flux, and on the edge of the dumpster had sufficient presence of mind and luck of positioning to be able to dive out of its path. The man, and indeed all four of them, may not have been the sharpest tools in the box, but they had clearly been well trained in military arts. Quickly rising to a firing stance, he aimed and fired his pistol, which shot out a blast of energy hitting Flux squarely on his force field.
