The image of a smiling, young girl fades up to the anchor's right.

"Police have appealed for public support in helping them find the kidnapper of Lisa Ellis, the little girl cruelly stolen from her bed while she slept only last night. Channel 5 reporter Mike Keenan has prepared this report. Mike?"

Suddenly the vision shifts. A younger man in a smart suit stands outside a double story suburban house. The house has been cordoned off and there is a strong police and emergency service presence in the area. The house itself has a large, gaping hole in the second story wall facing the street. The young reporter is wearing his concerned face, "Yes, thank-you Brian. I'm standing here outside young Lisa Ellis' house and you can see the place where she was taken right behind me." The vision shifts to a close-up shot of the hole in the wall - on the other side of the hole is a child's bedroom, open now to the street.

The man's voice continues over the footage, "It is not known yet why the young girl was taken from her bed last night, but police are desperate to find those responsible." The image now cuts to a police officer standing in front of a press conference. The super identifies the police officer of Senior Sergeant Brooke Dallas, who has a low, southern voice, "Obviously the police are very concerned for the safety of, of Lisa. We're appealing to the public for any information that you might have, anything at all." The footage now switches to vision of the front door of the Ellis house being closed - a quick glimpse of a middle aged woman can be seen on the other side. The voice of the reporter floats, once again, over the footage, "Lisa's parents have been too distraught to speak to the camera today, and that's fair enough. They have, however, taken the odd move of asking super-heroes to stay out of the investigation." The vision now switches to an official looking document. As the reporter reads the segments out, they become highlighted on the screen, "In a statement released to the media earlier this morning, they stated that ...they were afraid the heavy handed tactics members of the Freedom League and their ilk may make the recovery of their beloved daughter dangerous... A statement from the Freedom League today said that they would, indeed let the police do their work, but added that they are prepared to step in if required or if the parents change their minds."

The vision switches back to the reporter standing outside the Ellis' two-storey house, "The motivations for the kidnapping are not yet known, and no demands have been made. The parents, while both successful researchers with ASTRO labs, don't earn enough money for any kind of a ransom. Early speculation from the police is that perhaps, in this age of technology, the kidnappers instead want information or technical blueprints, but that is yet to be seen. All this reporter wants to know is, with the police unable to find any leads and the Freedom League staying out of it, who is going to find young Lisa Ellis. Back to you, Brian."
