"I didn't burn. The air is cold high, not hot," he says. He shakes his head, frowning. He returns to English, "But you are out late, and it isn't safe out here for you. Nanowire, do you want to escort this young lady home? You two seem to be getting along well," he says with a rakish grin. He has a way of speaking that makes him sound like someone's father or even grandfather, even though he looks like he's only a few years older than Grimalkin.

For a moment, Grim feels like the kid who is pulled over by a cop for speeding but is let go with a friendly reminder, when he's got a backpack filled with hash sitting next to him in the passenger seat. She looks from Nano to Icarus and back, her mouth slightly open in disbelief, before her brain kicks in and she is quick to take advantage of the situation. She wrinkles her nose and does this weird little dance of glee.

"Wow, that would be awesome!"

She practically wraps herself around Nano's arm as she chatters on in this vein, gently tugging him away from the far more frightening Icarus.

"Okay, now you have to tell me, what is the most evil thing you've ever done? I once sent away for all these credit cards in my mom's name, and she never even found out! I hit Hot Topic like shopping machine that ran on plastic! So do you have, like, a secret base where you make all your evil plans? I want mine to be all black, but maybe with some candles and a few white Christmas lights, y'know? To make it classy."

Pseudo's smooth red face appears on the communicator.

"Velocity, we just registered a familiar face crashing into the Fens, and thought you might be interested," he says. The screen switches to a blurry still photo of a bluish blob just above the cityline. Pseudo's voiceover continues, "And through the technomagic of Daedalus..."

The blob sharpens and zooms. The blob becomes vaguely human shaped, then a blue battlesuit with wings, and with the last zoom, a familiar helm (if in an unfamiliar color). "That's the guy who stole the stuff from the museum, right? Rest of the suit looks different, but I thought this looked like I had seen it somewhere."

Velocity looked at the image a moment, then nodded his head. “Yeah, I think that is him, though he has changed his look some.â€Â

“I’ll get over there and check things out.†She replied, as she thought, The Fens? Ick!

Seth was just finishing playing up a set. His parents weren't crazy about him playing in the Fens, But Nathanial P McDuggins paid well for live music. Seth had made quite a bit of money there over the years.

But as he was packing his guitar, his tactile sense started to go all wonky. There was trouble afoot.

Clicking a hidden latch on his guitar case, a small compartment opened up. His mask was in there. He grabbed it, trying to keep it hidden. Walking into the street, and making sure no one was watching, he gently levitated his Guitar Case onto the roof of a nearby building, one that didn't appear to him to have any roof access. He slipped on his mask and made his way into the sky.

There, he saw it. It looked like some metahumans doing...something, He slipped into his battle configuration and waited from on high. He needed to get a second or two of data before he decided to proceed.

Nanowire blinked as Heavy, now Icarus, rattled off a response - presumably to his question - that he had no idea where to even start translating. It wasn't English, that was for sure. As far as he knew, it wasn't even a Latin-based language, but he could have been mistaken. He had planned to ask him what that was all about, when he said that second part. Nanowire's brain instantly locked up to the point where he could only stutter, "Hah? Wha..."

"Wow, that would be awesome!"

She practically wraps herself around Nano's arm as she chatters on in this vein, gently tugging him away from the far more frightening Icarus.

"Gwa? What did... Well I... I don't really... Ah, that sounds..." Each said in response to one of Grim's questions before she bounced to the next one without even taking a breath. This was all so overwhelming. Nanowire actually felt his cheeks becoming flushed. He wasn't even sure that was physically possible before now. His resistance before her relentless enthusiasm crumbled like a sandcastle under a jackhammer as he felt himself get dragged along by a girl that couldn't have weighed a tenth of what he did.

"Ah... well, if you say it's okay..." He looked back helplessly at Icarus, or as helpless as a seven foot tall robot being accosted by a five foot three girl with target fixation an air force pilot would envy, which as it turns out is fairly helpless. Nanowire allowed himself to sink into the pleasent sensation of being wanted, beyond by somebody wishing him harm.

It felt nice.

After getting off the line with Pseudo, Velocity slipped out of the house and then was off at high speed, running down the wide, and rather empty streets of North Bay, making a beeline towards Great Bay. Once she reached the area near the North Bay Yacht Club, she increased speed as she headed straight towards the water, and then speed across the top of the water into the Centery Narrows, a spray of water kicking up behind her.

Velocity had found using the rivers as the easiest way to get somewhere in the city really fast, as she did not have to worry about dodging cars and people as much. As her feet skipped across the water far faster than the human eye could follow, the young woman though again just how amazing it was that she was able to move so fast that she could run across the top of water, or up the side of a building.

All in all it only took her a few seconds to make her way up the South River to comeback ashore at the Fens. Once on the streets, she slowed back down some, as she headed towards the area Pseudo had said the villain from the museum had landed.

Yuck! She thought as she ran down the streets of the Fens and past the many seedy establishments that filled the area. Totally gross! I really hate being in this part of town!

She started circling the general area, tightening her search before she spotted not only the guy Pseudo had detected, but his friend from the museum as well and some girl.

Oh great! This isn’t going to be easy. She thought as she turned towards the group, skidding to a halt a short distance in front of Icarus.

“So, run out of museums to break into?†She asked as she kept a close eye on both him and the other guy for any sudden moves. “I’m going to give you a chance to come and talk to the police about that, or you can wait till the Freedom League shows up, and then things won’t be so pleasant.â€Â

A yellow blur, didn't really catch his eye, so much as tickled his other sense.

She's here" In fact he could make her out her mouth moving. He hadn't quite learned how to read lips with his ranged tactisis yet, but he was working on it. He could just make out "wait till the Freedom league", and that was really all he needed to know.

Seth set himself down directly to the left of Velocity.

"I suggest you do what the lady says." Seth focuses momentarily and the trap is set, more or less. "Actually, I wouldn't take it as a suggestion. It's pretty much your only choice" Head flip to get his hair out of his eyes. The mask is bad enough.

It's like wrapping a present. Seth had created Force Constructs in a giant barrier-box around them. Directly, in front of Him and Velocity. 100 ft perpendicular wall, 90 feet high, 10 feet thick. Then directly behind the villians, same thing. Two walls to connect the two...One on top.

5 Walls. They are trapped. And if they do anything hasty...Seth could always start to close and constrict the box.

And here everything was going so well... Nanowire grumbled mentally as not only Velocity, whom he'd met before, but a kid with delusions of granduer showed up when they weren't even doing anything. One would think they'd have something else to do. Floods to stop, terrorists to foil, hell, even getting a cat down from a tree would be more pressing than them right now.

Now he was stuck in a quandary. He obviously didn't want to go to jail, but starting a fight in an area like this wasn't exactly the best way to endear him to Grimalkin, who was still hanging on his arm.

"I don't suppose you would take a rain check on that?" he said hopefully, though not holding out much of the same that they would actually take the suggestion. "I mean, if we get in a fight here, we'll wake up these nice people. They probably have work tomorrow. Do you really want that on your conscience?" As he spoke, he edged closer to Icarus. During the museum heist, he had managed to create a portal that they'd escaped through. Doing so again would mean they'd likely be taking Grimalkin with them, but to be honest, that wouldn't be a totally unwanted outcome.

It looks like the metaphorical cop who gave her the warning has turned around, come back to her car, and called in the SWAT team...

Grim reluctantly lets go of Nano's arm, clears her throat and waves hopefully at the two newcomers.

"Um, hi there! Not that you have any reason to believe me, but I'm actually not a criminal, and my new buddy Nano here barely qualifies; I can't speak for Icarus, to be honest, I don't know him all too well. The name's Grimalkin, and I'm all about helping people."
