News Reports flood in from all over town. Radio, Television, Screaming men and woman fleeing in terror.

A Strange Alien Craft has just landed Parkside. It's last meters of descent marred by some kind of propulsion failure, it crashed into a successful Credit Union, knocking down several of the walls, and potentially breaking through one side of the safe.

So far the craft has been unresponsive to communications attempts, and police are rapidly forming a defensive perimeter. There is a feeling in the air of unease. Something is about to happen.

Taking her time, and moving over every inch of surface of the saucer, ultimatly proves fruitless.

The saucer is featureless. It contains no seams, or windows, no exhaust or thruster ports, no visible means of propulsion or sensor, nor weapon. It looks almost as if it were poured into that shape.

What you do know, is it is made out of some kind of metal, which reflects light, and it appears to be polished. Even it's crash with the Credit Union, hasn't left a single scratch on it.

You don't know how any creature could use that ship without some signifigant advances on Earth's Tech Base, including the frontiers of modern super-science.

Frowning, Kat lowers the binoculars.

'Bah, I can't see anything from here.'

She looks around, taking notice that none of the authorities are all that close to the building. She glances around to make sure no on is in any position to see her, and with a smirk she thinks 'Well, looks like i'll need to take a closer look.'

Quick and quiet as a cat Cheshire disappears from the roof she was standing and reappears instantly on the roof of the credit union, crouched low to avoid being spotted. She immediately finds something to hind next to, then looks for a way down into the building.

Megan had been listening to the radio after doing some studying (all ten minutes that is had taken her to finish all her homework for the next couple of days) when the radio broadcast of the arrival of the unusual aircraft had come across the airwaves.

In a flash, she was changed into the yellow costume (with checkered racing stripes) of Velocity and was out the side of the house and speeding off towards the water. Once she got there, she really kicked in the speed, a small sonic boom setting off as she broke the sound barrier and ran across the top of the water, a spray of water trailing her as she ran up the Wading River towards the North End.

She was quickly back on shore, slowing a bit as she zipped through the streets, dodging cars and running along the sides of buses before she came to the traffic jam that formed around where the flying saucer was. Skidding to a halt just at the police lines, she looked over at the sight, not exactly sure what she could do.

[Howdy – Companyman checking in with Mr. Fix-it, PL10 Hero]

Professor Timothy Box was walking across the Freedom City University campus discussing recent developments in artificial intelligence with one of his students. “The biggest hurdle for developing a truly independent entity is getting the AI to recognize itself. The levels of programming and sensing tech have advanced well beyond the necessary requirements. However, self awareness is still the biggest hurdle…†Professor Box pauses a moment.

Unknown to the student, Box was receiving an alert on his internal radio receiver. In an almost mechanically calm voice Professor Box reengages in the conversation, “Jim, you will have to excuse me… It seems there is a problem in Parkside. Hopefully, we can continue this discussion when I get back…†Professor box then glances around the surrounding area. A large “No Parking†sign suddenly unscrews itself from its support poles and floated toward the professor. Professor Box stepped on to the sheet metal and began to ascend into the air. “And remember Jim, you still owe me a 10 page paper if you want that extra credit.â€Â

Jim’s response was lost in the rush of air as Professor Box sailed toward Parkside. He quickly stowed his remaining lecture notes in a hidden compartment in his left forearm. Box now looked much more like his hero persona, Mr. Fix-it, as he surfed toward the “downed aircraft.â€Â

From a high altitude, Mr. Fix-it to scan the area for what was causing the alert. The crashed saucer looked a little out of place even for Freedom City. Mr. Fix-it uploaded the image of the saucer into his memory and noted the dimensions and makeup of the craft. He then attempted to “communicate†with any devices within the ship.

Gordy sat in his families new, well, new to them, apartment overlooking the park. If you didn't count that building in front of them that eclipsed the view from his bedroom(which is actually the guest bedroom, what with only his sister still living at home for most of the year). Christmas break, though they called it holiday break to be PC, was in full swing, and being as his family lived in the city, Gordy had decided to spend the holidays at home. It would be the first holiday in a new place, now that his dad had gotten a slight promotion, and they'd been saving for a better house since they first moved into the horrible Fens apartment. Sure, it was a little further to the opera house for his mom, but at least she wouldn't have to worry as much about street crime. Gordy has just sat down from bringing his bags in when he hears a commotion outside. Running into the den and looking out the window there, Gordy sees a sleek looking flying saucer(at least, he assumes it's a flying saucer. Maybe a crashed saucer at this point, but a saucer none the less) that has crashed into a building. He can't make out what kind of building from here, but decides he's going to get a better look. Throwing on his winter coat, hat and a scarf, more to obscure his identity then the cold, Gordy makes his way to the crowd of people starting to gather. Turning to the person next to him he asks the obvious question, "What's going on? Aside from a ship just crashed into what looks like a bank."

Quick and quiet as a cat Cheshire disappears from the roof she was standing and reappears instantly on the roof of the credit union, crouched low to avoid being spotted. She immediately finds something to hind next to, then looks for a way down into the building.

The credit union roof feels a little less than solid at the moment, but you are mostly confident that it will support your weight. Where the ship has crashed into the building there is enough structural damage that you could climb down (if you dare). You can also see, more or less, into the dust-attacked lobby.

She was quickly back on shore, slowing a bit as she zipped through the streets, dodging cars and running along the sides of buses before she came to the traffic jam that formed around where the flying saucer was. Skidding to a halt just at the police lines, she looked over at the sight, not exactly sure what she could do.

One of the Police officers waves her over. "Velocity, Isn't it? Maybe you can help me. That man over there" He points at a civilian holding a camera. "Caught some footage of the crash. There seems to be some sort of Event at the very beginning of the tape, but we can't figure it out. It happens too quickly. Perhaps you could take a look?"

After looking at the tape...

Velocity didn't quite understand what she was seeing. There was a whirling twisting mess of images, all happening too quickly for any normal eye to follow. Even more quickly then her eyes could completely descern. She was of course limited by the number of frames per second that the camera took. What she saw: Two Meteors? Comets? had been crashing towards the ground when one of them swallowed the other one. Then the saucer appeared in between frames, where the meteors had been previously. Seeming to level out for a few seconds, the saucer had ossilated madly for a 1/10 of a second, and then had been unable to maintain powered flight. That's when it crashed.

If initiating communication was like knocking on a door and then being invited in, Mr. Fix-It has just had the porch light shut off in his face. He hadn't precisely been ignored. He had been "booted" out. But not forcefully. Just dismissivly. He thought. It was hard to tell. The experience was a little esoteric.

But his eyes picked up something, and he instictivly switched over to the infrared. The craft was radiating almost no heat what-so-ever. It appeared to be constructed of a uniform material throughout, solid, one mass. Room temperature too, which considering it's descent through the atmosphere was a little unusual. On closer inspection, there was actually a second defined mass in the center of the saucer. It was radiating massive heat-levels, and spinning wildly, as what appeared to be amorphous tendrils undulated in an out of it's core wildly. A power source perhaps?

"What's going on? Aside from a ship just crashed into what looks like a bank."

"No one will tell us anything. Those Cops don't know nothing. Look at 'um Squirm." Said one man. "It's Judgment day." "It's the terminus invasion all over again."Opinion after opinion ring out from all around you.

Tensions are running really high.
