"I reckon you best be comin' wit' me naw, partner."

Billy Renolds is dressed like he comes straight out of a cross between an Old Western and a Science Fiction movie. He has a pair of leather boots that reach midway up his calves. Tucked into those boots is a pair of close fitting tan cotton breeches. These breeches are not quite as tight as a pair of spandex might be, but they are snug enough so as not to restrict movement or snag on anything. Billy typically wears a button down shirt of a dark color, (Most commonly red or green, but sometimes black or brown) which he keeps tucked into his trousers. Over top his main outfit, Billy sports a knee length brown frock coat. The outsides of this coat has a few large pockets on it. Many times, Billy is seen walking around with his hands resting in these pockets. Billy has been occasionally been known to wear a cowboy hat. He prefers to let his shaggy brown hair hang loose. He complains that wearing hats throws off his aim, but apparently, having hair in his eyes does not. The one piece of headgear that Billy will wear without complaint is a simple pair of Aviator goggles. He uses them to protect his eyes when riding his Stellar Cycle, but keeps them down around his neck when he is not.

The other important accessory that Billy always wears is his belts. One belt fits him snugly and keeps his trousers on tight. The other belt fits him loosely and hangs lower on the right side, where the holster for his revolver, Jericho, Is located. The holster straps to his thigh so that it does not flap around. The holster also has a leather strap that can fasten closed over the top of the holster so as to keep a gun held in place while performing rigorous activities. Billy brought a few items with him when he transfered to this dimension. As a result, most of his clothing has been chemically and mechanically enhanced to absorb impacts in much the same way a bulletproof vest does. When his clothing is impacted, the fibers all harden in reaction to the impact, becoming harder than steel in the process.

Another possession that Billy was able to bring with him was his personal craft, a Stellar Cycle. These crafts are popular and commonplace in his dimension, though not so in ours. The Stellar Cycle looks and operates just like a normal motorcycle. However, when a special button is pressed, the Stellar Cycle expands, grows wings, and the windshield expands to create a cockpit. In this form, the Stellar Cycle is capable of flight. Normally the cycle is also capable of interstellar travel, but the jet boosters, as well as the life support systems were damaged when he entered this dimension. He has yet to be able to have them repaired.

By far the most important and his most beloved possessions that Billy managed to bring to this dimension are his pair of firearms, Jericho & Marlin. Both weapons were custom made for Billy. Jericho is a 8-chamber single/double action revolver, and Marlin is a Lever action Rifle capable of firing both rifle bullets as well as shotgun shells and buckshot. Marlin also has some semi-automatic capabilities, and will repeatedly load the same kind of ammo into the chamber unless the lever is cocked in order to switch the type of ammo that is used for the following shot. A spare reserve of ammo is held in the butt of the gun for this purpose.
History:
Billy grew up in a world that is both similar and completely different from our own. This strange alternate world that Billy calls home resides in a different dimension than our own, though it remains oddly similar to ours. Billy's home world has all the science, technology, and wonders (and then some) that our world has. The largest difference between these two worlds is that the culture of Billy's home world has progressed little since the middle of the 19th century. That is not to say that their world has suffered because of this, it has in fact flourished in many ways. Billy's world has all of our modern technology, and then some due to their time line being slightly ahead of our own. Examples of some of their commonplace technology that we would remark at are Space Travel, Personal Teleportation, Virtual Reality, and some rudimentary Magic as well.

In Billy's world, all the technologies that did not exist in the mid-19th century that have been created since have been worked in to common practice and heavily instantiated. Those technologies that did exist were not innovated upon like in our world, they were simply made better. This is why in Billy's world, things like revolvers and rifles are still common place, and not only that, they far exceed the abilities of even the most advanced hand held weaponry in our world. The other interesting thing to note about Billy's world is that even though cities and skyscrapers are everywhere, saloons and bar fights are incredibly commonplace as well. It is as if someone took a large amount of high technology and super science and dumped it on the people of the Old West, told them how to use it, and then left them to their own devices.

Billy grew up in a world where the ability to fend for yourself is paramount. In a world that has both high technology and rough individuals that are constantly looking to take advantage of others, as well as the law (and the more often than not crooked law enforcement agencies), one's future is directly proportionate to their survival ability. In Billy's world, many people will just follow in the footsteps of their parents and inherit the family store, or take over the farm, or create a new branch for the family business, etc. For Billy, who never really knew his father, and whose mother was a waitress at a saloon, this was never really an option for him.

Suddenly, with no prospects of having a secure future, fortune struck! Billy was six years old the first time he held a gun. He had accompanied his mother to work that day, as he did many days, and he spent the day playing amongst the tables and bar stools, happy as a lark. Suddenly, one of the men playing cards plucked him up and sat him down on a chair at the table.

The man had been playing poker and making bets. But apparently the poker had gotten boring, because now they were just making bets, and Billy was the subject of their newest bet, "I'm tellin' ya', the kid c'n make th' shot! I'll bet'cha' 50 big ones he can." The man said, tossing a wad of bills to the center of the table.

"Yer full of it, Kessel!" the other man said, also tossing a wad of bills on the table, "Let's see what he c'n do. Put a gun in 'is hand."

The man named Kessel turned to Billy and drew a revolver from his belt and placed it in Billy's hand, "Y'ever held one'a these 'afore, kid?" Billy could smell the whiskey on the man's breath.

"No, sir," Billy replied, and Kessel showed him how to hold it.

Kessel helped Billy take aim, "Now I want ya' ta' shoot that bot'le off'a th' girl's tray."

"But that's my mommy!" The man laughed.

Billy's mother noticed the commotion. She froze. "Billy? Honey? Put the gun down, honey!"

"Pull th' trigger, son." *BLAM* *PWISH* The gun fired, the bottle shattered, and alcohol sprayed everywhere.

His mother screamed, "Ahh!" and then snarled, "Rrrrgh!" she crossed the room in seconds, *KLANG* and bashed the man over the head with the metal tray. "You put a gun in the hands of a six-year-old?! MY SON! You BASTARD!" *KLANG* "GET OUT!!!" *KLANG* "GET..."

"JESUS, LADY! Alright! I'm gettin'!" Kessel looked at the man across the table from him as he stood, scooped up the money on the table, and pocketed it. "Tol' ja' 'e could do it."

Billy's mother's eyes went wide, "You bet on my son?! You bastards! Get out! Both of you! I don't ever want to see you back here again!"

The two men quickly made their way to the door. Billy quickly hopped down from the chair and stopped the man at the door, "Hey, Mister! You forgot this," Billy said, offering the man his gun back.

"Keep it, kid."

Then, despite his mother's repeated attempts to take the gun away from Billy, she eventually had to come to respect the fact that her son was, in fact, holding a loaded weapon. From that moment on, Billy and that gun were inseparable.

In the years that followed, Billy learned to shoot that gun, and shoot it well. He spent day in and day out practicing. Billy got good, and he got good fast. By the time he was 10 years old, he was winning speed shooting, sharp shooting, and trick shooting competitions. Billy even became a master of the quick draw and "hammering" a revolver.

But the revolver wasn't enough. As soon as he was strong enough to handle firing a rifle, he couldn't stop. Before anyone knew it, Billy became the best gun in town. With the money he made from gun competitions, his mother was able to quit her job at the saloon. Soon enough, she was driving him around the country to competitions. Soon enough, Billy was famous.

"Billy the Kid," "Rapid-fire Renolds," "Trickfire," "Quickshot," "Peacemaker," and, "Colt," were just some of nicknames people made up for him.

Billy's success with firearms and competitions continued for years. Then one day, just before his 17th birthday Billy participated in a special competition that was NOT offering a cash prize. Instead, the prize was a pair of guns: Jericho & Marlin. The weapons would be custom fitted to the winner. The weapons were a beautiful pair, and when Billy first laid his eyes on them, he practically drooled. Billy won that competition just like he won every other competition - hands down. On the morning of his 17th birthday, the weapons were delivered exactly as requested. Instantly, the two weapons became a part of him.

But Billy's story doesn't end there. After becoming the most decorated gun competitor in the country if not the world, Billy got bored. Shooting at targets on a wall could only hold his attention for so long. Even moving targets got boring after a while.

So Billy learned to fight. He developed an entirely new set of skills for himself. Then he took those skills on the road. When he was 20, Billy struck out on his own and began chasing down wanted criminals for a bounty.

Two years later he saw his 22nd birthday, and is now one of the most respected bounty heads in the nearby group of planets.

Unfortunately, the bounty head business was a cutthroat one. It didn't always pay the best money, but at least it was always exciting, and it kept Billy honest. He couldn't let his skills dull or he could turn up dead the next day. But despite the danger and the hard work, Billy loved every second of it. Of what little money he did make, he sent most of it home to mother so that she would not have to work.

One day, Billy was on his way back to Earth, riding his Stellar Cycle, after turning in a particularly dangerous bounty. He was on his way to visit his mother. As he flew through the Hyperspace Transit Tube towards Earth, the Tube malfunctioned! Billy was thrown through a tear in the Tube, and due to the speed at which he was travelling through an practically unstable environment, he jumped dimensions. He flew through the tear in space and time and came out in our dimension just after re-entry into earths atmosphere...

And the rest, as they say, is history!

Personality & Motivation:

Billy is a very driven individual. He has a burning desire to be the best at what he does. And what he does is shoot things! However, let it not be said that Billy dislikes opposition. On the contrary, one of the things he enjoys most is a good challenge, whether it be a gunfight, a shooting contest, a fight in general, or more intellectual pursuits. Billy doesn't have the brains to match wits with any of the more intellectual types, but that's not to say he won't try!

Billy is a fun loving individual. He is relaxed and complacent much of the time, and only a very close examination can reveal how truly on edge he is most of the time. Billy strives to always be prepared for anything he can. But for those times that he truly can relax he takes time out to truly enjoy them. Billy is no easy character study, that's for sure. There is quite a lot about him that is inexplicable and unpredictable.

Powers & Tactics:

An expert gunslinger. He uses his paired Jericho & Marlin weapons to inflict punishment on his enemies. Billy does his best to bring a mark in alive. (Bounties are always worth more alive than dead after all) He will first attempt to disarm or disable his foes in some way. Only when those tactics fail will he resort more lethal methods of taking down a foe, and even then, he tries to inflict as little pain as necessary, shooting enemies where he knows a gunshot will not be lethal.

When necessary, Billy is also a competent melee fighter. He has often been known to break a jaw or two with the butt of Marlin, his rifle.

In combat, Billy uses his combat mobility to get the edge on his opponents. He is also a fan of setting his enemies up for more advantageous situations and attacks. When necessary, he can keep an enemy talking for quite a while. Billy employs a multitude of tactics including misdirection, and distraction to win a fight.

Complications:

Not from around these parts - Billy comes from another dimension whose culture is quite different from our own. He is quite noticeable as an outsider.

Greenbacks - After spending years trying to stay afloat in the Bounty Head business, the allure of money can be quite great.

Gentleman - "Beggin' yer pardon, Miss, but I believe chivalry ain't quite dead jus' yet," Billy has a soft spot in his heart for women.

Bettin' Man - Billy has had a love of and respect for the game of poker ever since the game caused him to hold his first gun. To this day he will never turn down a poker game.

Significant Other - Grimalkin and Colt's long term relationship has developed into something greater than the bond shared by simple lovers. Colt cares deeply for Grimalkin and will go to great lengths to make sure she is protected.

Unconcealed Weapons - Colt is proud of Jericho & Marlin and he lets it show. He always carries the guns around in plain view. This causes some problems for him when dealing with some officials, or in certain environments.
