Dale snuck through his house, doing his best not to be heard. That said, it wouldn't take much for someone to hear the click, click, click of his skeletal feet moving across the linoleum floor. Once he hit carpet, he knew he was going to be fine. He crept up to the living room and poked his head around the doorframe - there was his mother, asleep on the couch, with the television quietly trying to sell her a hedge trimmer she'd never need. Dale left his mother sleeping; a portion of his thoughts wondered why she spent so many nights doing that now, falling asleep in front of the television. He walked to the front door, took one last look around to make sure he wasn't being watched, and the dissappered.

He re-appeared some 100 feet down the street, and then teleported once again to the nearest tree, always leaving the space around him melting momentarily. It had taken him a while to master that little trick. There was a time when Dale would be walking and then suddenly not be where he was, or when he'd fall off the back of a chair and watch as reality crumbled and re-built itself before his eyes. He grew to realise that he could feel where he was going, like leaning into a turn. After a little time, and some encouragement by his sister who also seemed to be able to melt space, Dale made the ability second nature.

His originial thought tonight was to go and see that sister, but now that he was outside, he decided he wanted a little adventure of his own. He began to click-clack down the street, making his way toward the city and teleporting every so often to move him that much faster. Tonight he was going to go on his first adventure..

Despite his efforts and constant teleports, it took Dale some time to get anywhere. His eyes turned to the school that his sister used to go to before she moved away with their father. The clicking of his footsteps came to a stop and he peered through the iron fence - he wondered absently what school would be like. He doesn't remember anything before his flesh rotted from his body after being exposed to the Terminus as he was so young, so he certainly never went to school. He wondered if the strange green glow he could see eeking out of one of the buildings was supposed to be there. He didn't come to a conclusion, deciding instead to find out first hand. Reality decomposed around him, his vision shifted and now he was sitting in a near-by tree, looking into the school yard.

He sat there for some moments, unsure of what to do next. The glow seemed to be pulsating, emanating from something hidden below the lower frame of the window. This piqued Dale's curiosity, so he creept closer to the window. He'd only just take a peek, see what was going on and then leave. It was probably something perfectly normal - Dale wouldn't know any differently, after all. Unfortunately, when he reached the window he found he was too short to look through it. He cursed internally, a curse as innocent as it was silent, and debated whether or not he should investigate further. It was, of course, not a real decision to make. He was already moving away from the window, hoping to find somewhere to infiltrate the building so as not to be on top of whatever was going on inside...

Dale made his way around the back of the building. He passed some play equipment fastened in the concrete. The swing creaked slightly in the night breeze and Dale marveled at it, curiously. Forgetting the glow inside the building, he clicker-clacked his way over to the swing, his skeletal mouth doing it's best to look like a childish grin.

Once he reached it, he tried to get on, wrapping his fingers around the chain. Before he could lift his weight up, however, the chains rotted away beneath his touch and the swing seat clattered to the ground. Obviously, he was a little too excited. He regarded the swing seat and kicked it a little with his foot out of curiosity. His mind wandered back to the green glow coming from inside the building and so he turned around and headed back to the classrooms...

It doesn't take him long to hear the voices - two, to be exact. To be even more exact, it was more like one voice and another, what? Bubble? In any case, Dale began to sense life and he was drawn to it. Two voices, three life forces. Something about the third, the dimness of it, gave Dale pause. He crept up to the side of the building and peeked around the side. There were indeed three people there. Two of them looked like children, well, one did - the other looked like a child shaped fizzy drink, it's liquid flesh bubbling and mixing with itself. The third life force was an adult; an unconcious adult. He lay between the two children who seemed to be arguing. The more agitated the bubbly one seemed to get, the more violent it's form became. Dale watched for a little while out of honest curiosity. Evetually, it looked as if the bubble-kid won out, because the other, bigger kid sighed and started to try and drag the body. Dale stepped out of the shadows, just looking. It didn't take long for him to be spotted - the bubble one saw him first and became a enraged, it's insides bubbling violently...

No one, not Dale, not the bigger, blonder boy and certainly not the unconcious man could act before the bubbly one did. It's form erupted forward - it's right arm being dragged inside it's form while another, much longer one erupted forward and struck at Dale. Well, needless to say that Dale was caught rather by surprise, not having been attacked by anyone, let alone a cabonated child. The liquidy blow struck him, pushing him down; the form of the child's extended hand splashing against the concrete. The bubbly one and the blonde kid ran over to where Dale had fallen - the space was empty. "Nice one, Al. You've killed it! What was it?" the blonde boy seemed genuinely concerned, the bubbly one (apparently named Al) was too busy scanning the area for the little skeletal boy who interrupted their caper. It didn't see him; well, not until it turned back to the unconcious man. When it did, it was greeted with the rather comedic vision of a nine-year-old skeleton trying desperately to drag a much larger being away with it. Dale wasn't succeeding. At the time trying to drag the man by his jacket pockets - looking for leverage. He also wasn't paying attention. By the time he realised that he was being watched, Al and the blonde boy were right on top of him! Dale barely had time to teleport away once again reflexively. At first he wasn't sure where he had ended up but, despite not having been in one before, he realised he must be inside the school building. Taking a quick stock of the situation, Dale saw the green glow he saw before emanating from a nearby classroom. He started off down the hallway, wondering if the glow and the two children who attacked him were related...
