It appears that the two heroes already on the scene have things well in-hand. So for now, The Scarab will hang back. Initiative: 7. The Scarab will take a Full Action to activate her ESP and initiate an extended search of the Pyramid Plaza complex, looking for other villains. The closest entry on the Extended Range table that matches the diameter of the search area is "1 mile." That's 4 steps up the Extended Range table, which means we go 4 steps up the Time Table, starting with 1 minute. So a search of this area would normally take 1 hour. With Rapid 3, The Scarab can search that area 1,000 faster, so it will only take her 3.6 seconds, enough to fit in a 6-second combat round. Search check: 30 (Take 10, +20). If she finds any, she'll take Free Actions to use her Telepathy to warn the two heroes engaged down below. As it is, she takes Free Actions to tell them what she already knows about their assailants. Either hero can choose to ignore her mental communication, tuning it out to the best of their ability, but they can't "resist" it completely. If they wish to resist the Mind Reading aspect, effectively cutting off any mental replies, they can make an opposed Will Save. Mind Reading check: 2. There's no way either of them could fail. N/A Posted June 8, 2009 Share Posted June 8, 2009 Elena will spend her lone Hero Point for Beginners Luck, to gain 5 ranks in Medicine. This will raise her bonus from +5 to +10. With Jack of All Trades, she's considered "trained." You can Take 10 on Medicine checks. Normally, her base +5 bonus from Wisdom would be enough for what she wants to do, but without "the proper tools," she's suffering a -4 penalty. She'll Take 10, leaving her final checks at DC16. The "Diagnose," "Provide Care," "Stabilize," and "Revive" applications of the Medicine skill are all in the DC10-15 range. Elena will rush over to the wounded bystanders, in order of apparent severity, and render aid. Link to comment
