Moira chuckled at the thought of riding The Emissary like a pony. She playfully brushed the small of his back like petting a horse. "Good boy," she said with a teasing smile.

Pushing down on him, she made sure he was steadily floating. No give, she thought, this will be fun. Taking a side-saddle seat on his lower back, she took off her sandals. The first thing she noticed when she wrapped her leggs around him was his build. It felt muscular, but comfortable. Pony? More like a Clydesdale, she blushed as her thoughts complimented him. It took her a few times to find a place to sit.

She cursed wearing a dress that only reached her mid-thigh, seeing if he could look back, he'd get a full view. Putting her sandals in front of her, she held them down against him, blocking the sight. "Ready when you are."

It was a struggle, but he managed to entirely distract himself from all the touches by focusing on her joke and rolling his eyes with a smile.

The moments she spent adjusting herself afterwards made him thankful that she couldn't see his face or his starting to fluster. It occured to the Emissary at that point, with the wrap of toned legs around him, just exactly /why/ so many of his fellow fliers carried others around by the underarm, but it was too late now.

He began to float upwards slowly at first to give her time to acclimate, accelerating once they cleared his embassy, wind whistling about them as he then took off in full for the clear blue of the sky, at least for a few brief moments. He flew with her above the city's tall and shining towers, before settling back down over the roof of an apartment complex and hovering just above it.

"We can start here, lots of buildings in jumping range."

If Moira would have remembered to breathed she would have had a joyous outburst, but all she could do was stare in awe at the sights she saw while soaring through the air. This was something she probably never see again.

When they touched down Moira's adrenaline was working overtime. She jumped off of The Emissary's back with a bit of giddiness. Trying to hold back her excitement, she straightened herself up. The dress was wrinkled a bit, but she didn't care. She was about to learn stuff from a guy who knew his thing. Her new mentor?

She nodded to the Emissary when he spoke, "So, are you ready?"

He smiled with a nod in response.

"Alright, the thing about patrols is that, much like with the police, you may often encounter a whole lot of nothing as you do a regular circuit. But it's not always the point to so encounter something you can put your fists into. Like again with the police, part of this is continuing a chain of effort, one that lets people know and have the reassurance that they're being watched out for. That if they call out for help, it isn't in vain. That there are those out there for them, trying to be there."

A pause.

"I mostly say this so you have something to remind yourself of in the in the times where it does get entirely boring."

He points out a series of nearby rooftops.

"We'll start with these. As you jump from one to the next, take time to look around from the building's roof, look particularly to alleyways, many things often seem to go wrong within their recesses."

Moira listened intently to every word the Emissary said, like she was taking notes for work and there would be homework and a test later. As he told her about looking into the alleyways, she did a check of the nearest one. Nothing down there, she thought.

"Boring," she questioned curiously, "how could this ever get boring? Even if there's no crime out there to fight, you get to be a shining beacon. Like you said, it's about giving hope to some guy who doesn't think it's worth it anymore."

Looking over to the other building and into the alleyway again, she nods to him.

He smiled brightly.

"That is decidedly the way to look on things. That said, there are still times where you have to remind yourself of that. When you are on the ocassional stakeout for instance, and doing your level best not to move or talk for hours on end so that Raven does not yell for having her cover blown.."

He coughed.

"Not that any such thing has happened to me. Anyway, ah, leap away."

He gestured encouragingly.

Moira wanted this to be impressive. She wanted it to look good. Backing up to the other side of the roof, she got into a sprinter's position. She smiled to Emissary.

"Three two, one!" And she ran as fast as she could! From the crouching position she quickly went upwards. Catching sight of Emissary as she passed, she smiled. Taking her eye off for a split second was not the best for her predicament. By the time she refocused it was time to leap. Her reaction wasnt so much a leap as a stumble off the building and a slip off the ledge. A plummet, if you will, with an accompanying drawn out, "Oh crap!"

"Oh!"

The Emissary took off in a silver blur after Moira when she missed her footing, arcing his flight in a way that sent light shimmering off his metallic skin and into his wake, pushing himself to loop and thus come up underneath Moira as she fell. He reached out his arms to catch her on her trajectory downwards.

"Are you alright?"

Even though it was a second, falling made Moira think about a few things. The whole questioning why you do what you do thing was very apropos as that's why she came on this trip. Before she could finish the seven stages of grief she was rescued by her knight in shining armor.

Great, now he knows they're blue, she thought, quickly pulling down adjusting her dress to avoid an immodest scene. Moira blushed, "Yeah, sorry about that." Thinking alloud, she looked to her saviour with a smile, "This is suprisingly comfortable ... Um, I mean, we should probably try this again ... I mean not this, but the jumping thing ... I mean, if you want to keep doing this, it's perfectly fine"

"Ah..."

Her words made him suddenly very self conscious of that he was holding her rather closely, though his only tell was a rise of warmth to silvery skin that, on the other hand, she was close enough to feel. He coughed just lightly and floated back up with her to the rooftop.

"We can certainly try the jumping again, I mean, I'd otherwise be holding onto you for the entire patrol, which I don't think you would want really?"

He didn't perhaps sound as sure as he might have at the end there.

Yes, Moira thought, Yes I would.

Moira blushed that the selfish things she was thinking. Biting her bottom lip and sighing a little bit, she relented, "No. not if we're gonna get this done." Laying her head on his shoulder, she smiled. "Business before," she began, then trailed off, thinking she would embarrass herself. Straightening, she gave him a quick, slightly rueful smile. "Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves."

"Ahm. Right. Yes."

He set her back down gently on the roof once they reached it, maybe a bit more slowly than he otherwise could have.

"So.. let's take it from the top?"

His tone encouraging, having recovered some measure of self posession.

Moira nodded more assuredly. She would keep her eyes on goal this time. If she really wanted to impress him she would make this jump without looking like some damsel in distress.

Backing up to the place she started before she dug in her heels getting ready to run. With a deep breath she took of across the roof and bounded off of it with a thrust from her legs. For a few seconds she was soaring. This was the life. With a loud thud she landed on the other roof in a crouching position. She stood up slowly and turn to the Emissary and happily waved for him to come over.
