"AAAH! It burns! SWARM THEM!" The Beekepper moved around in a panic, frantically trying to put out the fire that Nightscale had started, patting at his uniform and rolling to try and stop it.

From somewhere within the shadows where he hid, the man in red fired a capsule at Nightscale's mouth. It exploded, forcing the large dragon to breathe in a dark red cloud.

Madame Raven

Callie had to admit that there was this weird disconnect about this entire situation. Here she was in her own era, more or less, fighting villains that she’d watched at home. But she also knew from her research back in the 21st century what would happen to them. Callie tried to ignore the memories of such things was with her mother, who she now understood why she was always slightly nervous watching Raven fight.

She couldn’t bear to attack Beekeeper, knowing he sort himself out soon, and Traveler was to tough for her so she threw a few ravenrangs towards Fearmaster. She’d never really liked him for so, so many reasons.

Trawler moved far faster than the lumbering frame would suggest, quickly moving away from his burning colleagues. He obviously had little care for what happened to his companions, while he raised his right hand towards the flying dragon. He fired a quickly expanding steel mesh net towards the dragon, which quickly started to wrap around the mighty dragon's wings!

The Fearmaster moved ran, ignoring the flames that licked across his costume. As the Ravenrangs hit near him, he stopped in place, staring up at the rapidly descending Madame Raven. "Are you sure you're not afraid of heights after all, little bird?"

Charlie went silent as he fell. He saw the guy in red... and he recognized him.

"Crap."

Reaching for his belt, he pulled out a snareline and fired it towards him, but the guy in red moved out of the way, easily dodging it. Quickly switching to his gauntlet, Charlie fired a grappling hook towards one of the plaza's buildings, letting the line pull him in towards it. Stay up above it all, get an overview.

"Guys, that's the Red Death!Callie should at least recognize the name. The others? He wasn't sure.

Muirne snarled as she heard Luke start choking after the bastard fired a cannister into his mouth. She searched around for him, seeking for the red dressed villain. Logically she knew she should be afraid given the emphasis Charlie placed on the name 'Red Death' but to her that was all the more reason to be the one to go against him. See how he fared in whatever shadows he was hiding in against her Shadowbeast form.

Spotting him she grinned viciously before diving through her link to the Shattenwelt.

Darkness surrounded her, and she felt the bitter cold suffusing every part of her. She knew that there would be at least one Shadowbeast nearby, so she didn't waste time. Diving through the shadows she moved to where she saw him and reappeared near him, flooding herself with the power within her as she exited the Shattenwelt. She didn't waste a moment, swarming forwards as a wall of shadowy claws, satisfaction running through her as she felt them bite into something.

Red Death? Well, Howl supposed if one was going to dive into a hornets nest might as well do it on Dragonback. Trust the team to handle their parts. The rest of the villains gathered were all still threats so he'd just have to deal with them quickly. Trawlers metal suit made it a prime target, if Howl could damage it enough with a sonic breakdown Trawler would be forced to retreat.

Focusing his suits sonic emitters Howl launched a blast of sound that could shred steel towards the menacing machanist only to be shocked when Trawlers suit withstood the assault!

"Wait what, that should have broken that armor to bits!?"

He then dashed away from Luke to give the Dragon the space needed to just rip out of that net.

Luke tried to shake away whatever was in that in that capsule, but he could do nothing, but inhale the dark red substance. He could feel his lungs burning for air. His flight became more erratic, despite his best attempt to stay stable and keep his friends safe. Suddenly he felt lighter though, when Muirne had somehow managed to move away from his back.

I need to land. Now! What if he lost consciousness or something while he was still in the air?

There! He found a spot among the group of villains, one where he felt he had a chance to reach them with his fangs and sunk his claws in the asphalt as he landed with all of his weight.

Beekeeper yelled something about not even wanting to be there as the massive dragon landed on the ground. He turned and ran, only to turn back around a short distance away, quickly starting to fire his Stinger Gun at Nightscale, hitting him several times in the side with the biting stings.

With both Shadowborne and Nevermore engaging him, the Red Death looked between them for a second. The shadow monster seemed to be his more immediate concern. He raised one of his guns, shooting out a stream of dark red smoke towards her. Shadow or not, she had to breathe. Without a word, he moved, leaping into hiding somewhere, using the dark red cloud of smoke for cover.

Madame Raven

Try her best to fight the wave of nausea washing over her Callie did her best to land with some grace. It wasn’t her best but she doubted anyone was paying attention enough to notice. Her trajectory down had taken her close to her original foe, Fear Master, so picking herself up she made a few fients towards the villain before making what she hoped was a solid blow.

Unfortunately despite her best efforts she could beat down the waves of nausea and her blow went a fraction wide of the foe. Luckily she had the presence of mind to wait until the blow landed to make her quippy one liner or she would have sounded totally lame.

"Big dragon, eh? Let's see what you can do." Trawler ran forward, straight towards Nightscale. The armor let him move surprisingly fast, much faster than his bulk would have anyone suspect, at least. He pulled his arm back, letting his fist fly towards the dragon's face.

Fearmaster ducked away from Madame Raven and Nevermore's attacks, his tattered grey cloak moving about him as he ducked and weaved. His red eyes shone behind the mask as he pointed his blade towards Nevermore while he backed away.

The Red Death disappeared again. They had to deal with him, but... things were happening fast. Trawler and Beekeeper were ganging up on Luke, Callie were fighting against the Fearmaster and... he could still see Centurion fighting above. It was chaos

Right, Red Death was gone. He'd be back, but right now... Callie was alone against Fearmaster.

Nevermore leapt from the building, throwing a Ravenrang towards Fearmaster. He blocked it with his gauntlet, but that was fine, it got his attention. Using his cape to glide for a short moment, Nevermore ended with a flip and a spin that sent him spiralling towards the ground, landing between Madame Raven and Fearmaster.

Muirne choked for a moment on the smoke before it passed from her body. She turned furiously to the man before realising that he had vacated the location. Still, she could feel the light and life that he possessed and tracked onto it with her eyes, spotting the man before she dived through the Shattenwelt again to his location. Her claws raked through the air, but he must have been expecting it this time as she caught nothing but air. A snarl burbled from the depths of her shadows at her evasive opponent.

Trawlers armor was strong, Howl knew his sonic breakdown could shatter steel but that suit managed to shrug it off! And with Trawler rushing Nightscale Howl couldn't risk accidently hitting his friend.

So he turned his attention to the clown with the bees. Leveling his gauntlet towards Beekeeper and letting loose a sonic blast! And it was close, but close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades so the silly stinger slinging villain was able to avoid the blast.

Luke winced as Trawler fist struck true, strong enough to hurt, despite his armored scales, not enough to take him down though. He roared angrily and then stared, his golden  eyes straight into the ones of his would be attacker.

"Let me show you." He offered the man a grin with too many fangs to count.

Suddenly, like a massive crocodile aiming for his prey, he leaned in, closing his fangs around the armored supervillain, locking him into a powerful grip.

Let's see if you like it now.

While Trawler struggled in the mighty dragon's jaws, the Beekeeper had only eyes for that particular dragon. Despite Howl bringing the music to him, he seemed entirely concentrated on the massive monster, firing blast after blast at Nightscale while yelling about dragons and not signing up for this and so much more.

The Red Death struck from his hiding place once more. A capsule was shot towards Nevermore. It exploded into a foul stench, one that almost seemed to suck the air from Nevermore's lungs.

Madame Raven

Using some breathing techniques she managed to finally clear her head from the Fearmaster effects. Not that she had much time to celebrate as thing were still going

on. Hoping she wouldn’t be caught out by the villains powers again she decided to attack Fearmaster again.

She moved with some grace and gave a couple of feints before striking a solid blow on the villains with her reinforced gloves. Finally she could enjoy a tiny victory in this fight.

I fear you are the one that's in trouble now!”

"AH!" Trawler clearly wasn't as stoic as his armor might have made others think. With the dragon chomping on him, grabbing him in its mouth, he was caught completely. He groaned and cursed, trying to push Nightscale's mouth away from him, but with little luck. Even an armor like his was no match for a dragon.

Fearmaster reeled from the shock that Nevermore sent through his body, taking a single step back as he tried to regain his composure.

Again

Red Death was there, somewhere, just taking pot shots at them and... Charlie couldn't see him at all. What was up with that guy? He was really as good as Mr. Summers had made him out to be, after all.

Callie had a decisive strike against Fearmaster. Alright, cool, he should support that. Divide and conquer, take them out one by one, right?

Sending a charge through his staff, he struck forward, sending a shock through Fearmaster with the blow.

"I think it's just so shocking to find someone fighting back."

Muirne felt something tugging inside of her darkness, pulling control away from her. She couldn't lose control. She couldn't lose herself like she had when she'd gone to fight Dougal. But fighting this proved hopeless, and a new intelligence took control. Unlike when she fought Dougal she was still aware, looking out of eyes but helpless to act.

The Shadows shrieked in victory, turning it into a threatening growl at the Red Death. It now was the master, Muirne no longer held the reigns and it could do what it wanted.

And right now it wanted to hurt the man before it, who had dared to attack Muirne's friends, the same ones that the Shadows wanted for itself. With a final howl it leapt forwards to the villain, reaching its claws forwards. It would reach into his body and pull the light from him, drain his vitality.

The fight was going, well... ok, as far as Luke could tell, admittedly though, there were a lot of villains to handle and none of them seemed out of tricks for now. Well, there was one, the guy wearing an high-tech tin can and struck in the jaws of a creature of myth.

"You're not going anywhere." He teased as he felt the supervillain futile effort to break free.

"I like Supervillains when they are crunchy, you know?" He continued, as his fangs began to tear through the armor with a series of sinister crushing noises. Now it was not like he was gonna eat this guy for real, of course, but there was nothing wrong with a bit of intimidation.

"STOP! EATING! HIM!" The Beekeeper was clearly still panicking, pulling the trigger again and again, raining electric blows all over Nightscale's dragon body. He was far more freaked out than even Trawler, taking it far worse that one of his allies was being used as a chew toy than the actual chew toy.

Red Death stared at the shadow monster in front of him. The shadow claws raking across his chest, he pulled up the gas gun in his right hand and aimed it directly at the beast's face. A stream of red gas shot out of it, directly into Shadowborne's face.

Stepping back, confident in his weapon, Red Death started moving away, towards the buildings. "I have no time for this."

Her head now totally clear from the villains effect Callie began to pay attention to his movements. She’d watched lots of previous encounters of all her fathers, a future selfs, villains (and a few other) on youtube and other superhero sites. She’d not expect to go against a foe at a different level of skill, ironically the idea of time travel hadn’t occurred to her. It was good enough that she was beginning to get a feeling for how this Fearmaster moved and best time to strike them.

I’m afraid this isn’t going to end well for you!” she figured now was as good a time as any to get in the quip.

Charlie grinned as Callie's hit connected. He shifted the staff slightly, the electric charge dying out. Alright, the guy was tough, he had fought the first Raven, back in his prime, but still... Charlie kept the fanboying back, but this was just too cool. Fighting one of Mr. Summers' old rogues, and not only that, they were winning.

"Go low, I'll go high," he shouted to Callie, then planted his staff into the ground.

Catapulting himself over Fearmaster, Nevermore swung his staff at the back of his head.

Trawler groaned in Nightscale's mouth, slowly regaining his faculties.

Blow after blow rained down on Fearmaster. First the young Raven-Girl, then the Raven-Boy. He was utterly confused. What was this, did Raven have fans? Or had he started training his own army of children to fight for him? The thought was anything but comforting to the man as he tried, and failed, to escape.

"N-no! You will not stop us! We can't let you stop us!" Ghastly images began to appear before the two young Ravens. Their greatest fears began to take form.

Aoife snarled as she felt herself slowing down after Red Death's gas attack. She watched as he confidently strode away, her growl bubbling into a howling shriek as her power ran through her, causing her to grow larger as her shadows writhed further. She was going to break him, body and mind. Her curses and maledictions swam through the air seeking eyes through which to attack.

As such it was with frustration that she saw him shield his eyes successfully. Calm down, you need to be thinking clearly to fight him.

Aoife growled and spat a literal curse in response to Muirne's chastisement. She knew how to fight. She'd beat him.
